Extremely caring during our difficult time. Dr. Jennie was wonderful.

We were so thankful for Dr. Jennie during this difficult time. She did such a wonderful job at making the passing of our beloved fur baby as comfortable as possible. She was so good with our children. She explained the process and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye.

Dr. Elyse was exceptional in every way. She was so compassionate, empathetic, encouraging, and helpful during such a tragic time for our family. We are fortunate and endlessly grateful for the considerate care and comfort provided to us, especially our girl.

Super professional and extremely kind and patient. Having to say goodbye to our sweet Oscar was beyond difficult, but Laps of Love made sure he was comfortable and we were ready when it was time to say our final goodbye.

Dr. Jennie assisted us in the in-home euthanasia of my 18 year old boy, Sam. She came early when I called the line to say that he'd been having increased difficult overnight, she was incredibly sweet and patient with me, and I was so lucky to be able to do this at home with everything going on. I really can't thank her enough for everything she's done for Sam and I. I also just received a card some 11 days later expressing her sympathies and it just feels nice to know that these people take what they do very seriously and with great care. Thank you so much.

We had to make the painful decision to let our sweet dog, Sadie, go. The decision in and of itself was excruciating, but it was made a little easier by the very compassionate employees at Lap of Love. We spoke with Mike Mischler to schedule the appointment, and he was so kind to us. He referred to our dog as "Sweet Sadie" and after scheduling the appointment, he told us to "scratch her behind the ears for him." Then Dr. Elyse Persico came to our house and showed so much love to our dog as if it were her own dog. She kept her comfortable, explained everything she was doing to us, and did not rush a thing. She really gave us time to say goodbye and made Sadie's last moments very tender. She kept whispering things to Sadie along with us such as "Thank you for being a good girl" and "You're the best girl." When Sadie passed, she told us that Sadie "got her angel wings." She then wrapped her in a blanket with her favorite toy between her paws and left Sadie's head out making it look like she was napping. The whole process allowed us time to grieve and get closure as well as allowed our sweet Sadie to pass peacefully in her own bed with her parents by her side the whole time. The care shown by Mike and Dr. Elyse made a really difficult day become one about peace and making sure Sadie had the best last moments possible. For that we will be forever grateful. We highly recommend this company for helping your sweet animal cross that rainbow bridge.

We used Lap of Love today for our sweet Australian Shepherd Sadie. This service was recommended to us by a friend, and then also by our Vet herself. Mike Mischler was the customer care Representative that answered the call and coordinated for us. Our baby was not doing well at all, and we did not want her in pain for even one more day. Mike was able to schedule for the Dr to come this very day. He was incredibly professional, caring, and overall such a nice and amazing person. Elyse Persico was our Dr that came out for the service. Sadie was so comfortable around her because Elyse's personality was so caring. Her bed side manner was truly perfect. I can't believe how well she made us feel in such a difficult scenario. The entire process left us with a feeling of peace and we know we did the right thing Thank you Mike. Thank you Dr Elyse. Y'all were truly amazing and we appreciate everything you have done for us. I would recommend this company tenfold to anyone!

I really want to thank Dr. Elyse and the rest of the Lap of Love team for their help on Saturday. I suddenly had to euthanize my first pet that I’ve had for 15 years, and they provided quick, but also thorough and meaningful service. You guys really made the process a lot easier. Thank you for everything❤️

It has taken me some time to be able to put my appreciation into word's. My family and I had to say goodbye to our beloved cat, Catty 7 month's ago (July 2020). I still miss her terribly everyday. It was during a time that Covid-19 was new, information scarce, and at a scary high. Vet's were not allowing owner's in with their pet's (most still aren't). I found Dr. Elyse's info through a friend and kept it on hand incase it was needed. That day came, and when Dr. Elyse came she was so kind and compassionate, and after voicing my concern's over what was going on with my cat, and whether this was the right choice. She assured me I was making the best decision for my cat. Giving her a peaceful goodbye instead of a painful one. She took the time to get to know my cat and love on her as if she were her own, before getting started. When it came to confirming my cat passed on, she spoke with her own emotion in her voice and said "Catty has gained her angel wing's". I will alway's remember that moment and of course I broke down. But without a doubt Dr. Elyse was so loving and kind, and I could see that my cat's death affected her as much as it did us. What a wonderful human to offer this service in the comfort of our home's, and to carry that grief with her of every animal she help's to go peacefully. She truly love's these animal's as if they were her own. Thank you so much Dr. Elyse, we are forever grateful for the peace you brought. Catty is in our backyard under a butterfly bush, that blooms beautifully in the summer, with ton's of butterfly's flying around it.

My baby crossed over last night. I wanted to send my sincere gratitude to Dr. Fernandez. She was patient, calming, sincere and so respectful. Probably a very hard job to have. The hardest decision of my life but I know I made the right one and was lucky to choose this company to assist me. Oreo will be forever missed.

Thank you, Dr. Elyse, for being an amazing human being and helping me (and my family) through one of the hardest experiences in my life so far. I can't thank you enough for your kindness and compassion, and am inspired to know that there are people like you out there that do selfless work like this every day. You treated my sweet boy Odin like he was your own, and I know he was able to leave this Earth peacefully partly (or maybe mostly) because of you. Words cannot express my gratitude to you, truly. I will never forget your kindness during Odin's last moments. Thank you, from the very bottom of my heart. Also, Update: After Odin passed on, if you remember, our other dog (Tia) took his bone and went to the other room. When we let her out after you left with Odin, she had not eaten his bone, but instead brought it downstairs and left it out in the grass for him. Odin would often take her bones and carry them around in his mouth, but she has never, ever done this before. It was truly a beautiful moment on such a sad day, and was her way of saying goodbye to her friend. I hope that you read these reviews, and that you will see this one of these days and it will bring a smile to your face. Thank you again. Lap of Love is a Godsend. The scheduler that I spoke with (Annie) was another beautiful human being that was so kind and compassionate and made this heart-wrenching experience just a little bit easier. I wasn't initially sure if holding off a few extra hours to put my sweet boy Odin to sleep in the comfort of his own home was the right decision - He was suffering with end-stage cancer and I questioned whether I should have done it at the vet's office. Afterwards, however, I knew I made the right decision. Dr. Elyse made the experience calm and peaceful for him, and he was able to spend his final hours on Earth surrounded with his toys, blankets, lots of treats, and by the people (and dogs) that loved him most. I have never experienced the loss of a beloved pet before, and I hope I don't again for a long time. However, if you are trying to decide whether at-home euthanasia is the right decision, my opinion is 1000% yes. This company/organization is wonderful and shine a little light on a very difficult experience. Thank you again... so very very much... from Odin, my family, and I. - Julie Hanson

The pain of loss comes & goes. This is Rommies last afternoon, before Lap of Love Hampton Roads vet Dr Elyse came to our home & helped us help her across the Rainbow Bridge. It was cold & rainy all day. We went to the park & laid down in the grass under a tree. I carried her home. She wasn’t suffering at all but we knew she was ready???? Cannot express what a wonderful person Dr. Elyse is. Compassionate and patient, completely had the comfort of Gracie at heart through this difficult process. My experience with lap of love from initial contact to the process of putting my little gal to sleep was a peaceful, stress free experience for her. I've received a couple of emails that evening to see how I'm doing, which was much appreciated. After she was gone, Dr. Elyse wrapped her in her favorite blanket, arranged for cremation and she will be returned to me in an urn. I don't think anyone could ask for more at one of the saddest moments there is. I would highly recommend their service. I am most grateful for them. Gale snow.

I called on Feb. 16th at approximately 8:00pm. I was told that a doctor wouldn't be available until the next day! I had a 13 yr old Black Lab. He was struggling to breathe. I knew I wouldn't be able to get him in the car by myself. I had to ask for assistance from a man on my street to help me get Sam in the car. I then made a frantic trip to The Cove, where he was put to sleep. I just wanted him to be in his home with his human family. They should change their hours to reflect their real availability.

Dr. Elyse came to help me say goodbye to my 18 year old cat yesterday. Words fail me, and I am heartbroken at the loss but so grateful for the comfort and care she gave me and my cat at the end of his life.

Genuine. Compassionate. Empathetic. I could go on and on about how wonderful Dr. Elyse was through this seemingly impossible experience. At almost 18 years old, our pup decided it was time to go...we were able to make arrangements to say goodbye the very next day so we didn't have to watch him hurt anymore. By far, the hardest decision I've ever had to make...but Dr. Elyse was very assuring and helped us to remember the best of days instead of focusing on the task at hand. Today, I got a note in the mail. More than just a sympathy card (which in itself would've been above and beyond!!), she had written a very detailed message...she had remembered things that I didn't even remember telling her about our sweet boy and our many adventures with him. She even remembered his brother by name and expressed her concern for him!! I just couldn't believe it!!! Thank you Dr. Elyse. 3 weeks ago, you made a difference. Today, you made a difference. You are so very appreciated ❤❤ Sincerely, Bingley's mom

Dr. Elyse is truly amazing. The whole staff with Lap of Love are so sweet and caring. They took a moment that would feel horrible and made it one of the nicest experiences for both me and my babies. I've had Porkchop and Switch for years. They loved each other so much, I couldn't imagine them being without each other. Dr. Elyse is an angel. She walked me through every moment and never once rushed the process. She explained everything and gave me plenty of time to say goodbye to my best friends. They received their wings with absolutely no pain and in their little beds in their favorite room. Porkchop was even playing with a bone almost up to the moment it was time for her to go. We all felt so comfortable with Dr. Elyse. Once they left, she took them away in a beautiful basket with a soft blanket for Switch and Porkchop left on a comfy stretcher with a soft blanket all bundled up. Both of them looked so peaceful and comfortable. If you need help saying goodbye to your little fur babies, please call Lap of Love. It's no more expensive than the vet and you will have the peace of mind knowing everyone is safe. I am forever grateful. Thank you so much Dr. Elyse and wonderful staff <3 This wouldn't have been the same beautiful experience without you.

They are the perfect answer to a heart wrenching decision when you need to or have to put your furry family member on their next path of love. Dr. Elyse was so kind and sweet. We could not have had a more warm hearted person to help us through this difficult time.

Dr. Elyse was amazing and everyone I dealt with at Lap of Love were just amazing! They are very compassionate and helpful. They steered me towards some articles to help me talk to my child and all the advice was really good. Dr. Elyse is wonderful. She is so kind and caring. Our dog took to her immediately and we all knew she would stop our beloved dogs suffering. Our animal was peaceful and not stressed. I cannot imagine doing this any other way. Thank you all so much. You are saints.

We are so incredibly thankful for all of the staff at Lap of Love and Dr Elyse! They made such a difficult moment as peaceful as possible. When Dr Elyse came to our home, Eddie walked over to her which he never did to people he does not know. She helped end Eddie's suffering and he calmly went to sleep by his water fountain which was his favorite place to lay. Thank you so much!

Losing our 9 1/2 year old German Shepherd to a cancer was very hard. My wife and I made the decision to use a home euthanasia service. We wanted Titan to be in familiar surroundings with our other German Shepherd present when he passed. This was the first time we have ever had to euthanize a pet. We made a good decision to call Lap of Love. Dr. Elyse was the best. She explained everything to us and was a calming presence. I can't imagine going through this at a typical veterinary clinic.

Dr. Melanie could not have been any better at assisting my 24 year old cat. She was so kind, caring and understanding. She was patient and let us take all the time we needed to say goodbye. She askes us questions about Davis and treated him as if he were her own. I would definitely recommend Dr. Melanie to anyone who has found themselves at the time in their pet's life where the decision has been made to let go. I thank her for everything she did for us, and my precious Davis.
