The Ruff House Stay & Play Chesapeake, North Carolina

They staff was professional, responsive to my questions, and kept me informed with updates during the day. They were also great with Maisie and seemed to genuinely care about her. I could tell she had a great time when I picked her up a well as by looking at photos posted if her. We will definitely be going back!

My pup loves coming here to play with his friends! We have crazy work schedules sometimes and being able to drop off the pup here for daycare or boarding when needed is always a life saver. I always know that he’s safe and happy here instead of bored at home alone for too long. The staff is friendly and it’s always great to see the report card photos.

WARNING I had to return to edit this review. When I took my dogs for their required temperament tests to determine if they would be allowed to board there, it was fine because they were only there for hours-Daycare. However, if you are considering boarding for a few days, we boarded for 7days, I warn you to be careful. My dogs are fully vaccinated and well kept dogs who are boarded when we go out of town, so they are used to boarding. However, because of the extended vacation time at Christmas, we wanted to give them something that we thought was a better experience. The 2 days of pictures were fine, even though they had the dogs mixed up, which was brought to their attention and they later fixed. But when I got my dogs home, they were both sick with kennel cough, which explained how subdued they were when we picked them up. The facility lost their belongings which were just returned yesterday, 2 weeks later. I ended up having to medically treat my dogs, an added expense on top of the expensive stay, which I didn’t mind because I thought they were getting a treat. I honestly think that the facility is overwhelmed with the needs from pet parents and not properly staffed for necessary cleansing. What really disturbed me was the lack of concern when I tried to express my concerns. Saying I am sorry while not even looking at me is not genuine, nor is suggesting that I check with my vet on the efficacy of the vaccines. WARNING—Beware of the beautiful website images- they can be misleading.

They took great care of my cat and everyone was very sweet. Very affordable for a week stay. I will use them again!

We always use the Ruff House for our two dogs Kaecy and Loki to stay when we travel. Both of our pups can get a little stressed out when they’re away from home, and the team at Ruff House is always right on top of the situation to make sure they’re taken care of and as comfortable as possible. They keep us updated, and always reassure us not to worry, and we know that we can trust them! Our family highly recommends the Ruff House!

I dropped my 2 shepherds off for temperament testing and am so happy with the staff and how they handled my dogs. This was the first time my dogs were left a facility like this so they were super nervous. The staff took great care to read them and handle them as necessary. I received a phone call half way through the day for an update. When I picked them up they gave me a full report of how my dogs did and gave recommendations of how we can move forward. I really felt they cared for my dogs in the same way I would.

Our princess of a dog loves being there, and we happily use them as our choice kennel in the area. The staff even remember our pup when we haven't used them in a while. They treat our doggo like one of their own!

My lab, Lola loves going to the Ruff house. She is a 4 year old lab and still full of energy. She comes home exhausted. Love that they share photos of your pets play day after each visit..Definitely recommend them to my friends and family..

Wonderful place. Always feel comfortable leaving my dog as I know he will be well cared for. Lots of pictures and a report card as to how he is doing. I never worry when he is at Ruff House. Thank you. ASP

My dog was not socialized at all and was traumatized as a puppy by big dogs so she became aggressive with other dogs. Enrichment club helped her so much and she loves going. They were able to get her in to daycare as well and she now plays with many dogs every time she is there. I would not have believed it was possible a year ago. They are amazing at the Ruff House!!

Everyone was very nice and they answered all of my questions. The tour was in-depth and the facility was clean and appeared well organized. When I took my puppy in for the first day they called me to tell me how he was doing at lunchtime and when I picked him up he was happy and tired!!! Perfect????????

Our Bailey had such a good first day- pictures were posted of her throughout the day having a blast with her new friends. We are very happy with how everything went and can’t wait to send her back next week

Excellent place for dogs. The staff goes above and beyond

They care for our baby dog as if it were their own. They make beautiful little thoughtful crafts.

This was our first experience with doggy daycare and I couldn’t say any negative things about the staff or the facility. They were covid friendly in their check in/ check out process, super informative, and very helpful. Will definitely recommend to anyone with 4 legged friends!

Our pet is always cared for at Ruff House and it shows! He get so excited to go and is always happy and tired when we pick him up. 10/10 recommend!

The Ruff House staff were all sincere and helpful! I felt completely comfortable leaving my puppy with them for the day. They are knowledgeable and I already have Piper signed up for more visits!

This was our first visit at day care so I was very worried about my girl. She was very nervous ???? and didn't run around like I thought she would do but I know in time she will come to love this place. I feel safe with her there and know that will keep an eye on these animals. She needs the exercise and interaction. So Thank You.

The ruff house stay and play is an amazing place to take your dog when you don't want them to be at home by themselves while you are at work. They were so kind for my puppy girl and let her get to know other dogs of her size get aquatinted on her own for her temperament test. They allow dogs to socialize and play in a safe and caring environment. Highly recommend for your fur babies.

Wonderful place, the attention shown to my pup is admirable! He loves to go and play at daycare and recently he’s stayed a few weekend nights while we were out of town. The luxury kennels are a comfort away from home for a pup who loves being pampered. A fun place where everyone knows each pup’s name and appears to truly love their job. Highly recommended!!!
