The team at Kiln Creek Animal Care was amazing taking care of our guinea pig Benjamin during his time of medical need!

I'm a first-time puppy dad and Dr. Crist and the entire staff were absolutely amazing for Chance's first vet visit. Not only were they friendly and loving with him, but their approach to making him feel very comfortable put me at ease also. He literally didn't even notice the shot Dr. Crist gave him. Pure veterinarian magic. His tail was wagging so fast, I thought he would take off like a helicopter. Everyone is Fear Free Certified, which is one of the reasons I chose them, but even without that extra animal care training, you can tell they all love their jobs and love animals. Those are exactly the kind of people you want handling your pet.

**MUST READ BEFORE GIVING THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY*** The facts are they have no common courtesy. They don't know their clients. They love to push blame. They price gouge. And if you ask questions and have any quarrel about treatment they will not tolerate you calling them on it. You and your pet will be immediately given the boot! This is what happened: I was instructed to fill my pets prescription through Chewy in a certain manner by Kiln Creek Animal Care, and I did as instructed. Kiln Creek Animal Care REJECTED my prescription request and DID NOT call me to discuss why. They left me and my pet in limbo to miss his next Heart Worm & Flea/Tick medication dose. Thus leaving him susceptible and at much greater risk of contracting heartworms and other flea/tick transmitted diseases. After a week of wondering why my script didn't show up I called and spoke with the front desk staff at Kiln Creek Animal Care. They said they had not seen anything come in for my pet from Chewy. Upon asking them to please check again they then said, oh I see, here it is, we rejected it. I asked why. They had no clue why. The vet was then consulted by desk staff. Desk staff came back to tell me it was rejected because I got a years supply and my dog was due in 6 months for a heart worm test. And if I was to continue to administer the medicine after the test I would be harming my dog. I then told them, I HAVE ZERO INTENTION TO HARM MY DOG and if after the test he somehow had heart worms (even though he's been on heart worm meds consistently and tested his entire life, which had they checked the file they would have easily seen) I would DISCONTINUE medication until the heart worms were treated, then continue when he was in the clear. I also informed them that I purchased a years supply to save money. Chewy was offering 45% off a 6 month supply. So I bought 2 saving $137. After asking to personally speak with the vet and going over my concerns with how they handled this situation, I was then granted an exception, which at that point I thanked the vet and said it didn't want to miss out on the discount. But HERE'S WHERE IT GETS CRAZY! They then passed me to some other staff, I believe it was a Practice Manager who told me that because I called and complained and was upset with the way they handled the situation, that my pet was no longer welcome to be seen at their practice! My response was, I have been with them for the last 17 years. In that 17 years I have never complained ONCE. I call and express my opinion on poor service ONE TIME and they give me the boot! That is crazy! They have no accountability and zero tolerance for questioning! The Practice Manager went as far as saying, I should have purchased the meds from them. Trying to make me feel guilty saving money by purchasing through Chewy. I told her I would gladly purchase from Kiln Creek Animal Care if they lower their prices, but currently they price gouge at 10x the cost. She said, "Well that's how we make money!" Completely absurd and unnerving. They will undoubtably not address any of these things in their response. They will just push blame saying that I called and was angry so they told me to find another vet.

Had an appointment for my cat due to a bald spot under her chin. She was scratching it raw. Made the appointment on Monday for a 4:30p on Friday. Traffic had me running late, so I called to inform them I'd be late by about 5 minutes. When I get there, at 4:34p, they say they cannot see my cat; claiming the appointment was at 4:20p. Assuming it was 4:20p, they turn away an animal in need because of 14 minutes!? That does not sound very professional, not not truly caring for an animal. I will not be using their services!

I have been taking my now 11 year old golden retriever to kiln creek for a few years now. Every time I take her there she wags her tail and is happy to be greeted by the wonderful staff. It’s evident that everyone who works here has a love and passion for animals and what they do.

Every visit is absolutely great! Meeting Dr. Cutler and her assistant was such a pleasure! Both ladies made the visit a real joy and the procedure Dr. Cutler did brought good health back to my furbaby!!

It's been about two years since I've been back in Newport News for work. Kiln Creek Animal Care took care of my sweetest Adrienne's need in her twilight years and were so very gentle with my 20 year old kitty and empathetic to my own needs. I couldn't have made a better choice for a veterinarian.

I have used KC Animal Care for 14 years, and two cats. They always know my cats needs, have helped me solve many problems. I feel they genuinely care for each animal brought in. Its been hard during the pandemic but they have managed very well in a tough time.

After coming to kiln creek for over 3 years with two dogs, I am disappointed with the service they give. Regular check ups are fine and they are very honest but they don’t deliver results and expect you to still pay the price. Several times they charged us for clipping the dogs nails but told us they weren’t able to get all of them and sometimes any of them yet we still paid the full price. We just tried to get X-rays done for our pregnant dog and they told us they couldn’t get a good X-ray but we still paid the full price and don’t know how many puppies she’s having. I am extremely disappointed that they do the bare minimum to say they tried and don’t give you alternatives or discount the price for not delivering results.

We all face hard and difficult times in our lives. Thank goodness that we have amazing people that will help us and do so lovingly. Kiln Creek Animal Hospital is one of those places where we found everyone to be loving and caring. Last month, our beloved Priscilla caught pneumonia.  We had been fighting it but she just couldn't recover. Her breathing got worse by the day and then the minute.  Yesterday, Priscilla took her last breath in peace and knowing she was loved and part of our family. Kiln Creek Animal Hospital did not know her or us but they helped us at the last minute on a late Friday afternoon when no one else would. They were loving on the phone, at their office and were supportive, caring and loving afterwards. We are grateful to everyone here.

Excellent communication with their app that allows me to personalize my pet's services and needs and keep track of their care! The team is helpful, skilled, and just good people. I brought my very skittish and angry cat for her annual exam and vaccinations, expecting to be turned away as I have been by other vets because she's so mean. But they have the touch, there was no problem. They listed to her (the cat) and administered care on her terms, so she didn't attack. I couldn't believe it! I also expected the price to be exhorbitant because they seem like one of those bougie places, but no, they're competitively priced while still providing that "spa" style service.

We love Kiln Creek! After we had an emergency with our pet we called everywhere to get an appointment, and there were long waitlists. When I found KC they got us a next day appointment, treated our animal with love and tenderness, and helped us feel calm and cared for. We absolutely recommend coming here and we loved all the staff who were a part of our care team. The office is clean and inviting, and they have an app to make everything easier and efficient. Thank you Kiln Creek!!

Find another vet. This place just does not have it together. Still trying to charge me twice for one test. Took thirty minutes just to drop off a sample.

Overall great experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and know how to handle animals who are nervous at the vet. Additionally, work with you to come up with a solution to a issue/problem you have. Really happy I found them and I know my dog Maverick is too!

For a company who has the word "CARE" in their name they certainly did not care for my cat when it was time for her to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. They would not see us. I have spent thousands of dollars there for the care of my pets, well no more. I will do everything in my power to discourage anyone from ever going there. They should be ashamed of themselves.

My pet has come here several times since birth for all of her vet needs and usually they are accommodating to my pets needs. Being a single parent it is not always easy to make arrangements, but I can when knowing ahead of time. However my child wears a mask and so do I. This location is only allowing one person and NO KIDS!!! This was not explained to me ahead of time after making my pets appointment yesterday for her medical needs that needed to be addressed. My pet does well with me but not new people all the time. This location is aware of this and even with meds she wouldn't go in during her last visit. This office has helped my pet in the past by coming outside to do her visit. Being that her appointment was setup on short notice and me having to work last night there would not be enough time for the medicine to work. However, me being present accomplishes the same effect so my dog could get her treatment. When Covid first hit us and no visitors were allowed I agreed to medicate however, my dog didn't use it before and doesn't need meds any other time. Day of the appointment I was told no kids even with a mask could come in. This was super inconvenient for me and my pet. I asked if they could come outside to accommodate my pet, for the medicine would not have time to work but I would be able to keep her relaxed. They said no the doctor today isn't going to come outside. There was no apology or alternative opt given that would be beneficial to my pet this appointment. I just wanted her to be checked and treated and she not responsive to the anxiety meds they prescribed. She doesn't need meds any other time and does well therefore, meds are not always the answer. However this location is a firm believer in premedication to make it easy for them. However, if your pet doesn't respond to meds and does better with the owner why wouldnt be tried first so the pet can get what she needs.Only their policy was preached to me which is not in line with the current CDC guidelines. I was asked if I wanted to cancel instead. They do not care about my pet needs only their guidelines. Their emergency location allows family to come in with a mask. Other vet offices are allowing more than one person in as long as they have a mask. I do not know why accommodations could be made to help my pet but I do know this is I terrible customer service. We will not be back.

Dr. Cutler and her team were so kind and friendly when I took our new dog to Kiln Creek Animal Care. We went to another vet first with our other pets and had a really bad experience. We are new in town so I didn't know where to go. Luckily our neighbor recommended Kiln Creek Animal Care. I loved it there as did Cowdog (working on name...lol).

Our little pug loves going to the Kiln Creek Animal Care. We have to take her often to get her anal glands expressed and I am always shocked to see how excited she is to go. She whines and ecstatically wags her tail every time someone comes out to get other animals for their appointments. The only negative thing that I have to say is that their anal gland expression are on the more expensive side; but she really likes this place so it's worth it.
