TEN YRS. AGO, I WAS TOLD THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY DOGS "TEETH". THE VET RECOMMENDED PULLING HIS MOULERS IN HOPES OF GIVING MORE SPACE FOR HIS OTHER TEETH; HIS BACK TEETH WERE PULLED. HE WAS 6 MONTHS OLD. MY DOG ALWAYS HAD A PROBLEM EATING. HE NEVER ATE LIKE A NORNAL DOG. HE HATED ANYONE FOOLING AROUND IN HIS MOUTH. I LITERALLY HAD TO FIGHT HIM JUST TO GET A GLANCE INSIDE. HE WOULDN'T EAT SOFT FOOD OF ANY KIND I HAD TO HAND FED HIM DAILY; TEXTURE AND SIZE WAS IMPORTANT. OVERTIME HIS TEETH BECAME GRAY AND 1 BY 1 LOOSENED. ANDERSON'S WAS A CHOKEY(MIX OF MINATURE YORKY AND CHIWAWA). HE WAS ALWAYS HEALTHY BUT SMALL IN STATURE 2.4LBS. WHEN RETURNING HOME I TOOK HIM TO A VET IN ORIENTAL NC (S.H.) I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION TO DEAF EARS RELUCTANTLY SHE CLEANED AND PULLED 6 TEETH. SHE WANTED TO PULL ALL HIS TEETH. I DISAGREED FEARING HE WOULD STOP EATING ALTOGETHER. SHE ASSUMED HIS MOUTH'S CONDITION WAS NEGLECT. SHE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND MY DOG COULDN'T EAT PROPERLY, HOLD HIS FOOD IN HIS JAWS PROPERLY, OR CLEAN THE INSIDE OF HIS MOUTH WITH HIS TOUNGE LIKE A NORMAL DOG; BRUSHING TEETH WAS IMPOSSIBLE. HE HAS TROUBLE DRINKING WATER BECAUSE HIS NOSE TOUCHES THE WATER BEFORE HIS TOUNGE. HE PLACES HIS NOSE AGAINST SIDE OF BOWL,TO JUDGE DISTANCE, AND LICKS UNTIL HE FEELS WATER. THE VET IN ORIENTAL NC (S.H.) SAW ANDERSON 3 TIMES FIRST FOR HIS MOUTH TWICE FOR SHOTS.WHEN I TRIED TO MAKE FOURTH APPOINTMENT SHE SUGGESTED I TAKE MY DOG SOMEWHERE ELSE SO I TOOK ANDERSON TO HAVELOCK ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN HAVELOCK, NC. (AT THAT TIME HE WEIGHED 2.8 LBS) THE VET THERE IMMEDIANTLY NOTICED MY DOG'S BOTTOM JAW WAS SHORTER THAN IT NEEDED TO BE, HE HAD A BIRTH DEFECT, PLUS THE END OF HIS BOTTOM JAW HAD NO SUPPORT; LACK OF TEETH THERE MADE HIS JAW EVEN SHORTER.THEY SURGICALLY WITH MERE STITCHES PULLED HIS JAW UPWARD GIVING ANDERSON A SHELF IN WHICH TO HOLD HIS FOOD. I CRIED THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM EAT. THE VET AT HAVELOCK ANIMAL HOSPITAL, SHE SAVED ANDERSON'S SPRIT AND EXTENDED HIS LIFE AND I CAN'T THANK HER ENOUGH.

The vets and techs are amazing! Dr. Kucera is absolutely wonderful with our three pets AND my daughter's three! Alicia is the BEST vet tech I've met so far..you can tell she LOVES fur babies;)

My German shepherd dog had a stinky skin infection that was making him feel awful and run down. These guys got us in and took care of my baby. They were so gentle and kind. The ladies in the front office were just fabulous as well. We switched to them for both of our dogs' care now.

We have switched our animals from Arendell to here. So much happier

I have been very pleased with the services here. I like the vet and the staff. Very nice. Worked hard to accommodate me and my pet's needs!!

Would most definitely recommend took my cat here and the staff was super friendly and welcoming to my cat goose a goose might of not like the treatment he got but oh boy did it help the next day he is almost back to his old self a great vet to take you animal to if your looking for one Update: after over 3 hours of waiting finally found a nurse who cares

We LOVE these guys! All three of our rescues go there. I think Big Mac, might be a bit of a super star in his own mind there. They treated him for heartworms and helped me With helping his big "little" brother cross the rainbow bridge at the same time. Daisy Mae loves them, Rumple is learning, buy he is, after all, a dramatic husky!

Took Max here and had a very pleasant experience. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Dr. Shimmel was very nice and professional. Parking was plentiful. Max had no complaints. Very affordable care. Just moved to area and will be bringing both my pups here...

I love this office, the staff are friendly and caring and take amazing care of my puppy! I recommend them to anyone who loves their pet!

Wonderful Vet and wonderful care and Staff

Early Sunday morning the time had come to say goodbye to Mollie; an eleven year old Golden Retriever that had blessed my mother for that many years. This facility did such a wonderful job assisting our family through a heartbreaking decision of relieving Mollie from further suffering. Thank you.

Memorial Weekend 2021 My wee cat decided he was tired of fighting Diabetes/Cancer and it was time for him to go His own Vet was closed so we traveled to Havelock and Dr Roxeanne Taylor went above and beyond all Expectations I was an Emotional Wreck and she was just AWESOME!!!!!! Cannot thank her enough - Very appreciative for everything

Changing my review. I think this office is going downhill. I have been a client of theirs since the 90’s and I have NEVER had a problem till now. I’m changing my review on them because I’ve had two very bad experiences that just proves to me that money is the main objective other than helping an animal. Some of their front desk staff are insensitive and do not know how to handle some situations. They are always too busy for Urgent Care visits. Scheduling is a disaster. They are so overbooked that the vets are in and out so there is no time to build trust in your vet. Bedside manner is horrible. Just completely disappointed and sadden by the treatment I’ve. received and that my animals have received. NEVER AGAIN WILL I RISK MY FUR BABIES HEALTH to the likes of them. My lesson was learned the hard way. Please think twice before you commit to them as your vet.

I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else! I’ve been going here for years. The staff is so welcoming and really care about our pets. The management is doing a great job because you can tell the staff really love their jobs.

Procedures for two dogs went well. Expensive

Dr. Kucera is one of the most compassionate people I have ever met! She helped us during a very difficult time when we lost our family dog, Bonnie, and we will never forget her thoughtfulness. The receptionist Amelia was very caring and helpful as well.

I was greeted by a very friendly receptionist named Rebekah who was very helpful in what I needed to get done. I needed to get rabies shots for my animals and get copies of their records. I highly recommend and if you go ask for Rebekah she is very helpful.

My pup absolutely loves Tyler, and Tyler always makes sure he takes care of them. I drive from New Bern just to get this quality vet care.

Treat my dog like he's their's.
