This vet is so great. Everybody is friendly, prompt, professional. We feel like our cat gets the very best care here, whether it is for routine checks, or pop up illness that requires an unscheduled visit. We used to think our vet back in Georgia was good. Now we know what really good care and service feels like. Thank you for taking such good care of all of us!

This place is the best! They are friendly and all about the fur babies. The prices are reasonable too! My dog was in pain and limping they fit him in the same day I called. Highly recommend!

I wouldn’t even recommend you bring your pet snail here. Austin Vet use to be a wonderful place to bring your pet. Their downfall has been caring more about $$$ than the actual care of your pet. If you like waiting for hours to be seen, this is the place for you!! Even waiting for heart-worm medicine takes at least 45 mins. It’s quantity (# of patients $$) over quality here and they make it clear. Be ready when you call to be put on hold until the end of time, that’s if you can even get a call through. I hate to leave a bad review, but after multiple bad experiences here, enough is enough. Taking my business elsewhere.

After going to them for over 7 years, we are switching. The guy who saw us was rude. And I had to ask for a bandage for my dog after they removed his stitches in my car, leaving his paw bleeding and they wanted to charge $25 for them to put some wrap on his leg. This place use to be awesome because they were personable and cared. This place is like the CGH ER now.

After coming here for 5+ years they gave me medication for my dog that he didn't even need. They could have just told me that he would be fine in a day or 2 instead of selling me $100 worth of medicine that he didn't need. Then they wouldn't sell me heartworm and flea medice as they said by law they need a checkup once a year. I would of done the check up but it seems as if everytime I go there they try to get you for something. They are just all about thereselves

Yesterday Dr Sam Schmitt performed surgery on my 12 yo dog to remove an eyelid cyst. Dr. Schmitt explained everything in detail at the appointment a week prior & staff worked up the cost. Dr. Schmitt did such a beautiful job I can hardly tell where the stitches are. I dropped her off in the morning and picked her up in the afternoon.Staff gave explicit instructions for meds. The cost estimate and final cost were an exact match. In addition to that-you don’t need an appointment for a nail trim which is $12. Great folks. Great work.

I called Austin and they were able to fit my fur baby in the same day. The staff was understanding and compassionate about our situation. I am very greatful for the care we recived and would recomend Austin to anyone seeking exceptional veterinary care.

There are 2 Vets that I truly trusted in my llife. First was Dr. Bud in Morehead. Second is Sara. I've been going to her for a long time. I have had dogs and cats for over 40 years. Sara is compasionate and caring. Very skilled at her profession. I trust her with my animals life. Oscar pictured at the time of this edited review 12-10-2019. Is not doing well. 14.5 years old is a long time to live for a dog his size.

Best vet around. Even though we moved to New Bern 2 years ago, we still drive to Carteret County to see the Vet. Dr. Sam saved our puppy and I will never go anywhere else. I highly recommend them to anyone needing pet care.

Kelly should work on her customer service . When asking why our vet bill was so high she repeatedly said "Its not my problem." I had scheduled my pups visit with my pay dates and instead of going with the original schedule they decided to do her yearly early costing me $200 instead of $66 which was quoted for the 1st visit for 1 shot. Now I have to redo my entire budget. Which Kelly replied over and over again "Its not my problem." Then rescheduled my next visit in 2 weeks to 3 weeks. We have boarding set up for these dates and will be out of state. Causing a major issue with boarding. They need to keep their word when they say a vet visit will be this amount and keep the dates correct. Very disappointed with the staff.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Austin for approximately 10 years. I have the upmost confidence with the care they provide for both my cats and dogs. It is because of them that I am able to provide my animals with the care they need and deserve. I am also able to help stray animals in distress when those times have occurred. Their staff is like family to me, always there when I need them and willing to help with anything. Yes, I would recommend them above any other veterinary clinic!

Having gone to one particular vet in Morehead City, a recent health issue with one of our fur babies led to calling the office of Dr Sara Austin. Our first appointment was a game changer. Our sweet Dakota has ALWAYS been afraid of the vet. When Sara came into the room, Dakota was ill at ease. He took to Sara like a duck to water!! Sara made us feel like Dakota was the only dog around. By our second visit, Dakota was diagnosed with Lupus. This has been a very trying time going through treatment as Dakota has almost daily been on steroids and antibiotics. Every visit Dakota falls in love all over again!! Our journey has been very emotional as Dakota will get no better. Her and her staff's support has played an integral part not only in Dakota's care but it has also helped support our family emotionally. Emergencies have come up and we've been accomodated including the sudden loss of our Great Dane, Shackleford Banks II. I cannot stress enough how much Dr Austin gives of herself and just seeing Dakota interact with her from day one melts my heart. There will never be another vet's office for my fur babies. The best vet in Carteret County! They have a wonderful staff! They are very compassionate and love the animals as if they were there's! They go over and beyond what a vet office usually does no matter what time you call them! Dr. Austin is such a wonderful person and a heart of gold she truly loved our Buddy Boy as much as we did and he loved her!! I have been going here for years and years! They are absolutely the most caring Staff and Doctors, who truly love and make it about the animals. I feel like they are part of my family. I recently moved but make the drive because I just could never trust anyone else to care for my pets (or me) as they do. They go over and above, they keep the expense as low as possible, and they treat you like family. My dogs have always looked forward to going instead of being scared. They really are THE BEST! ????❤️???? On top of all that, they rescue and adopt, they do low cost neuter/spay clinics all the time. They save animals and rehabilitate them then find them homes. These folks love animals, period, and it’s quite evident in all that they do. That is why they have such a wide and dedicated following.

Austin's is the most caring group of people the I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My pet is a rescue that has seizures. They are always concerned about his health and giving him the best care possible. Thank you Austin's for being there for me & Bentley.
