I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS! This place is a joke. They don't care about the people or animals that go there. I had to rush my cat to them yesterday from Washington which took some time because traffic is crazy right now everywhere. My cat was DYING! We finally get there only to be greeted on the outside by a rude employee stating we needed to fill out the paperwork and put in the basket outside and wait for 3 hours. She didn't even try to look at our cat. We told her that our cat was very sick but she said that they have other critical animals too that they have to get to first. Well I walk back to the car after filling out the paperwork and at this point it looks like she's about to be taking her last breaths and I begged someone to please look at her. Someone different came out this time and as soon as she saw her, she rushed her in. The vet calls a few minutes later to let us know that she is trying to pass away. They bombarded us with all these questions about costs and such. We had to even sign a blooming waiver saying they weren't gonna perform any life saving measures because they would've needed a $500 deposit for that. We are disabled and already barely survive but we love our animals. So after a back and forth a little bit about costs, they finally said $380 for everything including the euthanasia and cremation. We asked her numerous times to be sure that's all we would be responsible for. She said yes. The next time we get on the phone with her, the cost went up to $520. Like what?!? I'm about to have to put my cat down and y'all are being so friggin money greedy? So anyways, we asked if we could have a few minutes to say our goodbyes and the vet seemed so concerned about us taking too much time with her because she was suffering. Yet it took them a while to come get us because they were wanting to get the money situation straight first so she was still suffering anyways. This place is absolute garbage and I 1000% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE!

Called this place at 7am because my dog ingested a toxic substance. I was told they weren't going to help me because they close at 8am. Glad to know if my dog ever gets hit by a car at 7am he'll just have to bleed out. Based on the reviews I'm obviously not the only one with a bad experience. Screw this place.

My three year old golden had spent eight hours delivering 10 pups of her first litter. We knew she had at least one more pup and was no longer contracting. She was almost lifeless at this point so we loaded up heading to Greenville. Called on the way to explain what was going on. She actually delivered one on the way and had begun to act a little better. This is a 1.5 hour ride to the emergency vet that did not end up being an emergency clinic at all. We arrived and was told to fill out the papers and return to a box outside the door. We were told someone would be with us in a couple of hours, I asked if they were busy because there were no vehicles in the parking lot. I was told there were no patients but they had to do staff turnover. Long story short, the two remaining puppies still inside our baby could have survived if there had been an emergency vet available. Instead they are in the ground, we drove to Wilson and they were able to handle everything in a very prompt manner. We are lucky that our baby and the surviving pups are healthy.. We are incredibly disappointed with Greenville lack of concern and more importantly there lack of professionalism during a very emergent situation. If you are remote, think twice before carrying your loved one to this crowd. Very disappointing!

Unless you want to wait 4 hours to get seen and end up with news about your beloved pet that will make you want to drink your memories away PLEASS just go anywhere else or if you xan wait till the day when you can see your normal vet who knows you and you pet don't come here these people are the ABSOLUTE WORST. If I could have posted a 0 star review I would have. Now om top of all this you have the right to look at us and tell us that taking her home and not having her be put down in a place she don't know instead of being home in a familiar place and with the people she loves to take her last days is beyond proper to tell anyone and the person who did this needs to be fired and never be hired at another vet hospital again.

Probably the worse ever, we’ve been waiting for 2 hours now. I’ve seen 2 people pull up with their pets, and correct, they walk right in. This is preposterous, I’m guessing no one cares.

Thank you. My Ella had to be let go last night. You were there for me and my family. Thank you for being so kind to us. I miss her but I know she is in a better place now.

First took my St Bernard puppy in she was sick and they treated her. The cost was almost 700. I paid it. Then she had to go to another vet in the morning which was almost 300. Now just a few days later she is worse now and they wanted 775 up front they took my card over the phone said it was denied but the bank said they got it they ran it a few more times and still said it was denied she said they only got 468 of it but still my bank says they got 775 they said they want all the money or come get your puppy. I am so mad so my son is going to get her and he's got to wait now for the other vet although they got there money they refuse to care for a puppy if a vet is like this don't waste your money on him because he really cares more about the money they your pet. Take your pet to a vet that really cares about the life of your pet ill be getting my money back as soon as my bank opens. So really go some where else where they care about your family member pets life these people really dont.

We took our 3 month old puppy here to be evaluated for an injured right hind leg due to him jumping from my grasp onto a hardwood floor. Immediately upon calling, we were told that there was an extensive wait ahead of us, and that more emergent cases would be seen ahead of us.... And there were plenty of pets that needed immediate attention. They were very nice, but one could tell that they were VERY busy, and trying to multi-task as best as they could. My husband and I are fairly new to NC; transplants from NJ. After hour procedures in NJ are very different than here. We would call our vet's 24 hour hotline; they would access the severity and need(s) for our pet, recommend which emergency vet to go to and call the emergency clinic ahead of time. Even during the height of covid we were seen immediately and given updates via phone. Our 14 year old sheltie passed away on 4/11/20,after being treated for complications from a brain tumor. Again, the staff here were compassionate, professional and caring, but it seems obvious that there just isn't enough staff to handle the influx of emergencies. Also, there was no obvious place for pets to potty should the need arise. So scary as the business is right off a major road. Long story short, we left after waiting for 2 hours because my pup had a regularly scheduled check-up with our vet the next morning. I am giving this business 4 stars because the communication is somewhat lacking, and the only way we could get/give information was by clamoring at the door with everyone else.

I arrived 15mins after they opened and there was only one other car in the lot. After providing the paperwork, I waited almost 4 hours and was NEVER SEEN! I watched people drive up and their dogs were seen immediately. I called numerous times and was told over and over we were next and would be seen within the next hour, and to wait. NOTHING!!!! No updates, or even a triage check. The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever!!! Each time I called which was always an hour later, the receptionist talked over me to again tell me it’ll be another hour. Rude and Ridiculous, I would never recommend this place, EVER!

The vets at this clinic saved my dog's life, that's a simple fact. They went absolutely above and beyond with his care and it was worth every dollar and every hour spent. Glancing at some other recent reviews, yes the wait can be very long, but that's because they're triaging every animal that walks through their door. The first night we went there, he had his vitals taken, we waited several hours and eventually had to go home because he was stable and my partner had to wake up early for work (we don'tlive terribly close). The second night I took him back because I had grown more concerned after some seeming improvements during the day. Chip ended up staying with them for emergency surgery with complications throughout the entire weekend. The vets there pulled insane hours to make sure they had two vets on hand to handle his surgery and he has passed his 2 week mark and is entirely back to his old energetic self. They were extraordinarily kind to me, explained things extremely well, and just did SO MUCH to ensure they could give him the best care possible. Every day I get to spend watching Chip be his ridiculous energetic self, I am grateful to the incredible team at this clinic. They have my full confidence and trust. The care my darling received here was top notch and while I hope to never HAVE to recommend an emergency vet, this one has my full vote. (To the staff, Chip is doing SO WELL!! He's entirely back to his old energy levels and eating like a CHAMP.)

I needed to take in my chihuahua for vomiting. After fasting her at home and trying to soothe her stomach to no avail. I called first and Jessica answered and was very helpful. I arrived at 12:30 am, Hopi was taken inside within 20 minutes. Dr. Frankie came out after his assessment and gave me several options of treatment. I did choose the conservative option and was leaving the clinic just before 2 am. I was very pleased with Dr. Frankie and Jessica. It is a Emergency Clinic, so sometimes the wait time is longer due to the conditions of the patients inside. Always call first and gauge how busy they are. I believe that they do their very best for each pet. It can be difficult to wait when your own pet is sick, but remember they do triage their patients and adjust accordingly. I also feel that what I paid is/was very fair. Most importantly Hopi is much better .

Don’t bother going here unless you have 5+ hours to kill waiting in their parking lot. No updates, no ETA, no communication, no nothing. I guess they have a monopoly on being open on weekends. Probably should just drive to Raleigh, it’ll probably save you time and get better care for your pet.

Be aware of this pretend to be real emergency for pets office...On June 13th our dog got hit by a car. The person who hit it dropped at Pet Emergency Clinic of Pitt County. Then I arrived to clinic to find out current condition and to see update . They kept door closed and talked outside without letting to see the dog or see any paperwork or even see the x ray. The doctor talked to me and my partner as a dog owners and told that it seems that dog had damage like hip out and damage that she cant move or stand on feet. I asked do You do operations to put hip back in place ? I was told no. So I asked that I would like to transfer dog to proper other vet clinic perhaps to do surgery and save time and drive her to Raleigh or perhaps other true emergency Vet services. The woman from pretend customer service told me to wait and she would find out. I waited and decided to leave for about an hour to take care my other business. When I come back I looked trough the locked door to remind them that I was there waiting for that answer. The woman was showing me one finger that I understood as one moment. Then I finally realized that dog was kept pretty much hostage. They never got back to me with an answer and instead set me up for arrest. I did not have cell phone on me and asked woman to help to make a call to help me with info or find out if the dog is even alive. Then I was so happy to notice police car. I was waiving and trying to report the ignorance from vet office and tremendous stress it caused me. I tried to explain that I am co owner of dog and ask for basic right to find out anything about the dog and transfer. I got arrested and charged with trespassing second degree. After arrest I asked why I was arrested and charged with that and was told by vet clinic that I was not the owner. I adopted dog from animal control that was going to put her down 6 years ago. I was caretaker, cleaner, bought her food and treats 50 %. The police told me that in this country caring and feeding for dog does not mean I was an owner. My partner claimed he never told them that I was not an owner and instructed them to talk to me. I wonder if they decided to just keep the dog drugged up in kennel till the morning as they did and gauge another $ 1300 with no explanation or price break. I truly believe that they kept her for Business gain and absolutely disregarded me or my rights. My partner never told me to leave and just suggested to go home and that I made the staff nervous. I mean when they charged $ 500 for x ray it makes customers more nervous than them... Any way Please be aware that this facility is a pretend to be real emergency like You would assume for humans. I mean like real emergencies have fully equipped surgeries, waiting rooms, ways to help animals other than just x rays and drugging them up. I would say they might put stitches and charge You few thousands but that's it. They do not have any appreciation for owners or even basic respect. I guess their motto is that pets should not go home till they go like 8 a.m . I believe this office violated my basic rights, set me up with arrest, failed to provide basic explanations or clear warning to leave but cheated me and person who hit the dog. Even rattle snakes warn before do harm or bite others but not this criminal gang of pretend vets from pretend to be " Pet Emergency "

Horrible service. We drove an hour and 15 minutes to this “emergency” vet because they were the closest to us. My dogs eye was bleeding and I cannot describe how bad it looked. We arrived for them to come out and say it wasn’t an emergency. We waited 3 hours before they finally called her back. But while we waited they did not give her pain medicine nor did they take her into the building into the cool air. She is a Great Pyrenees so she has lots of fur. They ended up sending us home with medicine and said it was either a snake bite or cat scratch since she had a puncture wound to her eye. This all happened Saturday. Monday we brought her to a eye specialist in Cary to get a second opinion because we could tell she was still in a lot of pain. The specialist took her back right away. Turns out my dog was shot with a pellet and it went all the way through her eye into her head. Furthermore, a pair of the eye drops that they sent us home with the eye specialist said they did not carry those eye drops anymore because they cause more harm than good. The eye specialist was excellent. Unfortunately, they did have to take her left eye out. But DO NOT go here to the “emergency” vet unless you have no other choice. 0/10 recommend.

Took our sick dog to this clinic yesterday and after driving over a half hour to get there we were told by staff that it would be a couple hours before they could look at our pet. 2 hours later we were told they were working on another pet which was going to take an hour and a half and then two more pets before they could see ours so from 7 pm to 9pm they saw one animal . This no class outfit is the worst veterinarian service I have ever seen and anyone living in the surrounding area of Greenville should stay away from this location. They provide no waiting area and expect you to wait in your hot car with your pet for hours on end providing no water or even bathroom facilities for humans during their long waiting period. They continue to use COVID as an excuse when everywhere else such as restaurants and stores have relaxed those restrictions. Just another case of a business that really really sucks and needs an excuse.

Super caring and very professional! My Mom’s little Toy Poodle, Corky (right) was bit by a neighbor’s dog this evening. Pitt County cleaned and treated the bite marks and prescribed antibiotics along with pain medicine. Fair and reasonable cost in addition to the $100 up front fee. We greatly appreciate your help!! If anything happened to that dog right now, I’m not sure if my Mom could handle it. If you have an emergency situation with a pet, don’t hesitate to bring them to Pitt County Emergency Clinic!

Absolutely awful service. Brought our dog there after she was bit the other day. Initial care was poor. They didn’t drain the cut properly so the poor baby got an abscess due to their negligent care. Then, when we came back after it exploded!!!! on us they said it would be 5+ hours of waiting in the parking lot while the dog was crying and bleeding all over the place!! We asked for simply a paper towel while we waited but they REFUSED. They absolutely refused to even lift a finger because it “wasn’t her turn”. So if she’s in serious pain and in bad condition…doesn’t matter. Clearly they never heard of the word triage!! Then, after 3 hours of waiting, one of our family members (who is fully vaccinated against COVID) desperately needed to use the restroom but they said “Sorry, don’t care.” Too bad this is the only place for miles, otherwise I would say NEVER come here. NEVER expect to be seen within 3 hours of arriving, no matter how long or short the line is. Negligent care, pathetic customer service, and disgusting employees who don’t mind letting your dog bleed all over the parking lot with nothing but a “Too bad” to stop the bleeding.

This is NOT a Veterinarian EMERGENCY facility!!!! Took my cat to their facility on a Thursday night. Filled out a bunch of paper work and waited in the parking lot for over 3 hours. They charge you $100 for just “stopping by”, then hundreds more. Find a good local vet.

I took my 5 year old yorkie here for a severe cut on her eye that was bleeding like crazy. The communication was terrible. When I signed in and called they did not tell me it was going to take 4+ hours for my dog to be called back. When I found out I was shocked because it was already 9:30pm and was told it would be three more hours at least and if I didn’t get called by 12am I would have to wait even longer because they were doing a surgery. I asked if I could leave and come back because 3 hours is a long time to wait in the car with an injured dog but they said if I did so I would lose my spot in line. Needless to say I did not wait and left. Workers seemed unsympathetic and I did not feel that they even cared about the condition of my dog. Next time I will make the drive to Wilson instead, I will not go back here again.

My daughter and I brought our beautiful cat, Maui here who was severely injured. At the time we did not realize he had been hit by a car. The staff took good care of him and made him as comfortable as they could they tried to help him but his injuries were too severe. The staff was compassionate, patient and caring as we said goodbye to our baby. We too, had to wait a long time before we heard back from the vet but they are busy!! They are trying to save lives, and people need to remember that this is an emergency clinic. Also, it IS expensive when you take your pet to the emergency clinic. You definitely have to have to pay a pretty big deposit. This is not a free clinic, and yes, is expensive but if you love your pet then you do what you can for them. My daughter Emily, my fiancé Randy, and I would like to thank the staff very much for trying to save our precious Maui. We are happy that he did know that we were there with him and then we could spend some time with him before we had to tell him goodbye.

You’re better off driving to Raleigh than waiting to get into this place...you would probably save time & frustration.

Took my collie/husky mix on Sunday morning. She was in pain and I was really scared. Due to covid restrictions, everything was handled by phone. The staff were wonderful - they listened patiently as I explained that Roxy was REALLY in pain (not like any other pet that might be there, I’m ashamed to admit). A Tech came out to the truck as soon as I had completed the paperwork. Dr. Harrington called to explain her initial thoughts and we discussed the next steps and the costs. After the xrays, Dr. Harrington called to talk about the results. We decided that Roxy should be seen at a neurological hospital immediately. The office made all of the arrangements for me, even sending the lab results and the xrays - which saved us from having them repeated. So, yes, this was an emergency. Yes, I had to follow the rules and wait my turn. Yes, I sat in my truck fearing the worst for what seemed like 18 hours (I pulled into the parking lot at 9:00 am and was leaving to drive to the hospital in Cary around 1 pm). The costs were reasonable for quality emergency care. I am pleased with the entire visit. Btw: Dr. Harrington’s prelim. diagnosis was supported by the specialty team at the hospital. Roxy is beginning 4 - 6 weeks of crate confinement.

Every time we go to this vet it takes entirely too long. Waited for an hour after check-in for our dog to be taken inside, and then another hour before we got a call back. Do not take your animals here. You might not get them back!

I had to have my best friend of 10 years put to sleep, this was the only place open on a Sat. & I was afraid I would regret going somewhere we have never been but I don't. The staff was very caring & understanding. My boy was unable to move so they came right out to my truck & did the deed. They made a very difficult time alot easier. Also explained the cremation process & I like that I was able to have it all taken care of right then & there. Thank you all so very much!

Worst run emergency vet I’ve had to experience. Support staff was amazing. Time terribly by the physician. In 4 hours she wasn’t able to even see 4 non critical dogs.

This place is extremely disheartening i called with an extremely sick puppy and not a lot of funds and i was told well maybe you should take out a loan. I didn't have the money they were asking to treat him for Parvo. This morning i rushed him to a vet and he passed away... 13 weeks old and i lost my son over money i am very disappointed that they could let a pet go over money.

It was extremely comforting to have such an excellent facility available in NENC. I took my 13 year old bichon there for treatment and she received excellent care and both vets were knowledgeable, compassionate and thorough. The staff was wonderful and went to great lengths to make sure all my questions were answered and encouraged calling to check on my sweet Sophie. In prior reviews I noticed people mentioning wait times and cost. I waited a reasonable amount of time for her to be assessed and they prioritized emergencies as they should. They are very forthcoming in the cost associated with the treatment and it is up to the owner to decide whether they want to commit to this obligation. I did not feel the cost was unreasonable based on prior experience I have had with an emergency clinic in VA with another pet. With that being said, I am so glad I took her there and thankful they could treat her with a happy outcome. If the situation arises, I am confident in being able to get great care for my pet when there are no other alternatives due to an emergency happening during nontraditional vet office hours.
