Our GP was bit by a copperhead. We took her in late at night. All staff and doctor were wonderful. Friendly, kind, caring and took excellent care of her. Highly recommend.

Our 7yr old Chihuahua became lethargic and starting having seizures after her heat. It was Sunday and we had to get her some help. Took her to GCAHEV, they took her back immediately. Asked for a $700 deposit, we used care credit. Her blood sugar was low as well as her blood work. They did 2 blood panels in the 3 days she was there. She continue to worsen. They suggested x-rays and a ACTH(Addison's disease)Stim. They kept her, with no idea what they were dealing with. No referral until their tests come back. Meanwhile, they have someone feeding, monitoring and giving her water. She was allow free access to water after she was fed and drank for 15 minutes straight. This caused her to lose the nutrients she was needing and vomitting. Day 3 we finally got a referral to a specialist, as she started discharging from female parts. Pyometra! The one thing that ANY real vet would recognize given her age, symptoms, and not being spayed. So, we spent right at $3000 for them to do nothing but allow her to go septic and put her life in danger. Now, she is in critical condition at specialist. She made it thru surgery to spay but the damage from the neglect they had shown has put her body in very bad condition. She now needs plasma transfusion and heaven knows what else. Please do not take your loved furbaby here. The staff itself were kind and understand and did try to answer all questions but the vet themselves were very rude and condescending. In my opinion, they did what they could to milk the insurance and should be reviewed for fraud and neglect. To many, animals are just things. Then there are those of us that our pets are our children and family. Not something easily discounted.

Okay, everyone down voting this Vet, GCAH, please realize it is not the same as the After Hours Veterinary Clinic. My dogs have been going there for 7 years and they are fantastic. Before covid, you had a choice of appointments just about any day or time....even after hours. It is their building but it is run after hours by local vet's staffs that are on a rotating basis....like most emergency vets. The best part is.....if you are a patient of GCAH and have to go after hours to the AHVC, the same prices apply as if it were during regular hours of GCAH...a perk of being their customer. So please everyone, look who you are giving these negative reviews to.

We had an emergency situation with our pet and had originally gone to another emergency vet but they were very busy and wouldn't even check on our pet when he collapsed in the car. We left there and went to the After Hours clinic and the staff there was so professional and caring and took our pet right back. The doctor talked to us at length about the issues he was having and explained everything thoroughly. We decided that we would need to euthanize our pet due to the severe and complex nature of his issues and planned to bring our kids back to say goodbye. Unfortunately, our pet had a cardiac arrest at the clinic and we didn't have an opportunity to do so, but everyone did such a great job taking care of him and we were so grateful that he was being treated and didn't just die in the car waiting to be seen. The staff allowed us to bring our kids and other dog to say good bye and gave us foot prints to keep. There were a lot of options regarding the after death care, too. They sent a really nice condolence card to our house, as well. Thank you to Dr. Eldred and the staff for taking such great care of our pet. We would bring our other dog, or any other pet here to be seen. The cost wasn't anywhere near what we would have spent at the other place, either. Very reasonable.

I will up date my review IF I decide to take my baby here. Currently I'm not impressed already! I spoke to a lady and said thank you for the information. She just HUNG UP! RUDE! I did take my animals there for rabies shots and nail trimming. They were nice but ill equipped to handle a nervous dog nail clip. They could not do it. Pet Smart handled it without a problem!

Lots of miscommunication throughout the office & the afternoon staff is not very friendly as compared to the daytime/morning staff.

DO NOT bring your pets to GCAH. Very expensive and they will misdiagnose your loved one. They absolutely do not care about you or your loved ones.

We love this vet so much! Everyone there is so sweet and takes care of you in a timely manner. We have been there as normal patient and as an emergency patient and both we are always taken care of. I love our vet! I can’t say enough great things about them!

We have had our animals under the care of Guilford College Animal Hospital for many years, and they are by far the most helpful veterinarian hospital we have ever used. We've had at least 7 dogs over the years that the staff have cared for, and they are always compassionate and knowledgeable. We typically come in after 5, which is a great option with our work schedules, but this means that you WILL have to wait if an emergency comes in- which we certainly understand. They saved the life of one of our dogs when she developed pancreatitis on Christmas several years ago, and helped us manage her care for years until she recently passed. From the staff who work the front desk, to the vet techs and the vets themselves (it seems like Dr. Streck is the one we see most often, but they are ALL excellent), we are so grateful for GCAH and the care they provide.

Our little old man passed away at home after our regular vets had closed. We wanted to have him cremated, and this hospital did it's job. They were very nice to deal with and the urn was beautiful. We were expecting a porcelain urn, but got a really nicely carved wooden urn. They sent a sympathy card with his paw prints inserted. Thank you.

I tried to order Bravecto through Petco. My dogs are patients at this clinic but the vet asked Petco to not fill the order. Cancelled my order because they want to get all the money.

Our dog had a laceration on his paw that required stitches. They took him back in a timely manner, called us with updates and make sure we was ok with the cost. Yes, its costly but you can't expect any different when its an emergency. All staff was very friendly and respectful. Would recommend this office in time of need for your fur babies.

Thank you so much for taking such great care of my dog when she had something stuck in her throat. She was frantic and foaming at the mouth and y’all took her straight back. We didn’t have to wait at all. Thanks for giving her such prompt attention.

This Emergency Clinic was amazing. My 14 year old Yorkie had new onset respiratory distress due to never diagnosed CHF. The tech took my dog straight back to evaluate. Within an hour we heard from the veterinarian. They were careful to only do tests that were absolutely necessary to ensure no additional stress. They always reassured we could call anytime day or night (which we did). They were very realistic with expectations and worked hard to bring her back to health. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital to anyone who needs great care and attention to their pets.

The facility is nice, but extremely overpriced. There is an extreme markup on medicines and services. Be prepared to spend 500-1000 per dog every time you come here. Pricing is outrageous, and they will gouge you for everything they can.

We brought our son's kitten in on Monday 3.30.20 at 6am because she had gotten into fishing lures and was them in her mouth, paws, fur and tail. She was crying, bleeding and in distress. The person that greeted us was kind and professional and only interested in the well being of our cat. She took her back immediately and within an hour, we were home. The Dr came out and spoke with us - he was kind, professional, direct and caring. She is doing fine now and we are so very grateful for the service you guys provided. We will only come to you from now on if we have an emergency and may just move all our care to you for our two dogs and two cats. Thank you so very much!

If you care about your pet, do not take them to this clinic. They performed an extensive surgery on my dog and sent him home with 10 mg of gabapentin. He was whining in pain constantly when I brought him home so I called the next day to express how concerned I was. I also called the following 3 days to ask why his pain was not getting better and I was brushed off each time, saying he’s bound to be in pain because he just had major surgery. When I took him to my own veterinary clinic, they were horrified that my 23lb dog with broken ribs and severed muscles had only been given 10mg when he should have been on 100mg of gabapentin! It was a mathematical error that Dr. Samoska tried to pass off as the “low end of the recommended dose” before admitting that it was a technician that screwed up. Either way, he should have reviewed the dosage, and the clinic had 4 Additional opportunities to review the chart and fix the mistake But each time I called, I was just brushed off and told it was to be expected for him to be in a lot of pain. What’s almost worse than the negligence is the arrogance displayed by Dr. Streck, the Director of the clinic. I asked him to call me regarding the incident and instead of saying something comforting, he told me it was not his fault and said there was nothing he could do about it. He didn’t even apologize for the lack of care at his practice. Certainly not the demeanor you want from someone in this field. If you care about your pet, do not take them to this clinic.

RIP OFF! Absolutely horrible and stay away. Unless you have extra money to give to a company that gives misinformation and bills HEAVILY for it. I am not a person to leave bad reviews but, this seems to be the normal business practice for them, not just a bad day from an employee. We brought our cat in to the ER because of him being in a large amount of pain. He had a blockage and couldn’t go 1 or 2. They told us it would be approx. $1300 to relieve the blockage via a catheter. After a few days of him being at this place, I call because they told my wife each day way going to be an extra $150-$350 charge. I obviously need to know the extra charges before I’m not able pay for it. Anyway, $2100 plus later, the doctor calls my wife to tell her there is a surgery for this but, it doesn’t always work. When she asked how much it was and he said “I know you’re concerned about the pricing but, if you want one of my ladies to get you a quote, I will when the time comes.” If they charged $2100 plus for a 3 day visit and a catheter, I can’t imagine what that bill would be. We finally went to get him after the Doctor released him. My wife had asked so many questions about our home diet, water intake, medication and they said everything was fine and “it was nothing she was doing, it just happens” and finish the meds. Perfect, more wet food and meds, got it. Few weeks later, he blocks again. We can’t afford another bill like that. My wife called to have him put down. She was told this morning that they are under staffed and “get to it “ until after 6pm (and they aren’t allowing present Euthanizing), with our cat suffering we decided to go elsewhere to get the comfort he deserved .So, we go to the new Vet preparing to not see our cat again. First question they asked, “what kind of food do you feed him?” We tell them, they say “noooo that’s the worse food!” WHAT?? We were told to Continue feeding them THAT wet food!!! The new vet gave us extensive education on the reasons the cat is having these issues, the best things to do for him at home along with a special S.O. Diet. Needless to say but, not only are we getting the same procedure done as these guys did but....... we are getting the surgery done as well! At HALF the cost! Best part, we received great information and didn’t have to break the bank to get it. Guilford College Animal hospital will NEVER get a referral from me. STAY AWAY!

I called here tonight looking for a just incase option for my dog in case I couldn't get to her vet. I called a couple of places and got around the same price for an emergency c section. I didn't pay nearly as much at my dogs vet a few years ago but, its an ER. I get that its going to be more expensive and again this was a just in case thing because its in Siler City and I live in Winston Salem. I asked just out of curiosity what happens in an emergency situation and someone doesn't have all the money would you just let the animal die? She actually said yes, and hung up the phone. ???? Im am in disbelief.

Don’t recommend this place. I took my dog he was in severe abdominal pain so they took x rays and some blood work. They charge me $772.00 for 6 hours he was there on Thursday 16 2020 which I understand if that’s their fee but, I call them again almost a week after to let them know that my dog is the same level of pain as when he went in. Nothing did change is like he never was took into their emergency hospital. I asked them if they could review my case and give me another solution, they say that I need it to go to the vet basically Dr won’t talk to you unless you pay again them again. I guess they wanted 800 more just to get the same results.

I live in Burlington and after the vet there refused to help Huey (my daughter's cat) because I couldn't make a full payment we decided to take him here. My parents always brought their pets here and they always received the best care for fair prices. We brought Huey in on a Saturday and only had to pay half the bill. That came in handy since we didn't have the rest of the money until Monday. We picked him up on Tuesday. Huey got full treatment, medicine, and special food for almost $1,000 less than what the clinic in Burlington was going to charge me for just treatment. I plan on bringing Huey back here for any needs he might have in the future.
