The staff was incredibly kind and helpful to get me in last minute when I had a concern about my kittens health. They were all so sweet to her and made her (and me) feel very comfortable. I definitely would trust them with caring for my cat again in the future!

Best animal hospital in Durham! Dr Doyle is amazing and has been there for us whenever we need him. We even flew back from California to have a surgery performed on our boxer dog because we trusted Dr Doyle more than our current vet. Highly recommended!

They never do unnecessary procedures. Mostly because they are extremely knowledgeable, and don't immediately jump to "let's do x rays and a full panel of labs!" They are great with both of my dogs. I've saved thousands of dollars using them instead of my old vet.

Very kind and helpful staff. Always a pleasure for our vet visits and I loved doing puppy class with Lynn here. Scout says thank you for 4 years of great vet care and letting him showing off his tricks for everyone.

They care more about there bottom line then your animals health! You cant get preventive medicine to keep your animal safe with this vet, because they care to much about making money by holding prescriptions for ransom so that your forced to pay for unneeded and over priced wellness visits! This vet feels more like a scam operation then it does an Animal Hospital.....

i travel an hour to go this clinic because of the care and consideration given to my animals by the staff at SPAH. every dr. and every staff member who provided care to my animals has met and gone beyond my high expectations. i have never recommended a vet practice before now. i HIGHLY recommend this clinic for your animal's care. you will NOT be disappointed.

Everyone at Southpoint Animal Hospital was very nice. Our Miniature Schnauzer was in for her 2nd round of puppy shots, Dr. Thompson and the team did a wonderful job caring for Charlotte. She answered all our questions regarding proper puppy care and training. She provided us with a lot reading material. Charlotte is looking forward to her next visit.

Our dog ATE a GLOVE! Quick and professional service at a reasonable price ($235). Had to rush to have the glove removed (via induced vomiting). We waited outside for about 30 minutes tops. When our 'bad' dog was ready, she was happy as a camp! Hmm, she is after any and everything. Please be careful! PS: She had the glove in her mouth, then found a morsel of food on the floor, and ate them both. Yikes! Lovely growing puppy, but very curious. :-)

I would have to say we drove 1.5 hours from Greensboro to Durham to see our vet of 5 years. Just would like to have a lower vet bill took two of our pets a cat and dog spent $550 seem a bit expensive. But would recommend ????????

Our rescue is an anxious girl and everyone here has been really great about making sure she's as comfortable as she can be and working with us to make sure that her experience is a positive one. Highly recommended!

I just moved to Durham from FL and was dealing with a sick pup and no vet! I did my research and came upon Southpoint Animal Hospital and I couldn't be more pleased. They were able to get my pup in quickly, assess her situation practically, and helped me make the best decision for my pets care. The staff, nurses, and doctors were friendly and compassionate, and above all they helped put me at ease while helping my pup. Happy to be in Durham and to have them as my vet :)

We have been going here since 2010 with our senior dog Lady. Lady was a chihuahua mix. She was active until her death a few years later. We had to put Lady down due to a bad accident/injury from which she could not recover. SPAH did it humanely and helped us even during the grief process. They even lit a candle for her the day that she died. The SPAH staff was as upset about Lady's death as we were. Since then, we have had another dog which we ended up giving away and currently have a golden retriever puppy. SPAH has always treated us like family and they are like family to us. We are new puppy parents and have had tons of questions which they are so patient with us and answer us in a timely manner. Even with pet emergencies, they will bend over backwards to take care of the problem. Thank you for all you have done for us SPAH!! I can highly recommend you!!

I've been going to this vet practice since 2015 when I moved from Raleigh to Durham. In Raleigh, I was seeing a reputable vet clinic since I got my dog in 2007. While I thought they were great, I now see how they pale in comparison to SPAH. I've had the chance to meet with every vet there since taking my dog and cat starting in 2015. Each and everyone of them are FANTASTIC. Over the years they've helped me with everything from repetitive ear infections to abnormal bowel movements to the diagnosis of cancer in my dog. Throughout all of it they have always been extremely thorough and caring. On top of that, I cannot speak more highly of the vet techs and the front-office staff. They are sooo friendly and I never feel rushed. They take the time to acknowledge my dog and cat making sure they feel comfortable and acknowledged. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to get into a room (even when I'm 10 minutes early). Maybe you can find care a little cheaper elsewhere, but their stellar care and knowledge is worth that extra $10 bucks here and there. I've moved farther away from the practice but still drive the extra 15 minutes to see them. If you love your animals, you should definitely be taking then to SPAH!!

Southpoint used to be a good clinic, but they have dropped the ball over the past 4 months. I told them I need more drugs for my dog a week prior to an on-site appointment. When I got the drug was not available and this drug is crucial for my dog's health. I had to drive back over 3 days later. Next appointment, I told them again I needed more drug--once again the prescription could not be filled on the day I was there. Next appointment I specifically asked for a vet to look at blotches on my dog in addition to the blood work. The vet did not even look at my dog. Next appointment for more blood work. I checked in and waited at the door. I had 4 or 5 of staff ask me if I was sure I had an appointment--each time I said yes and I had already checked in. Then another staff member came out about 25 minutes after I had checked and asked me was I really sure. I told him that I was and told him that if they continued to offer such poor service, I would need to change vets--he told me go ahead. When I called for the results of the blood work, I was told the vet seeing my dog wasn't in until Tuesday. I said the blood work was done on Friday, they admitted they had the results, but I had to wait for the vet to come to work on Tuesday. I asked if another vet cold look at the results and was told no. Now it is Tuesday and I called again. I was told the vet was not in until 2:00 and to call back. I still do not know how much drug to give my dog--even though it is now almost 3 full work days after the blood was drawn.

Everyone here, from the front desk staff to the veterinarians, are so kind and thorough. I was recommended to this hospital by 2 friends after months of horror experiences at other vets trying to sort through my dog’s allergies, and Dr Farling has been an absolute godsend. She is so patient with my dog, who is extremely anxious, and awesome about answering all my questions. We love Southpoint Animal Hospital!

Wonderful facility, phenomenal vets and vet techs, and service that goes above and beyond. My dog Lily and I had been going to another vet’s office, and I took her in two times in two weeks to try and solve a skin issue that she’s been having. When I brought her in to see Dr. Elise, she was given a thorough exam, and she discovered that Lily actually had fleas! I was pretty amazed that the other vet’s office never found the fleas, even after two visits. Solid proof that this team is thorough, and can be trusted to take care of our fur babies!

We originally started taking our pets here because the price of the vet we were going to in Carrboro was getting prohibitive, but I'm so glad we switched. Not only are they a good deal, but they're great listeners and so helpful and caring. Dr. Lapham in particular is a really great listener and fantastic about not only hearing your concerns but giving patient, detailed explanations and reasoning and he really keeps up to date with the current research to remain informed. Everyone else here is great too though, you can really tell they're dedicated to helping you do what's best for your pet's health and well-being. At our previous vet at the conclusion of a prolonged illness we had to have our dog put down. It was cold, clinical, and expensive. In contrast at Southpoint Animal Hospital a few years back when one of our cats had reached the end of his life and needed put down they were incredibly considerate and caring, explaining everything to us, giving us as much time with him as we needed, and letting us hold him for it. Then they didn't charge us anything for it. Of course during covid you can't go in and have detailed in person conversations about your pet's health, but you can still talk to them over the phone while they look at your pet and they're just as patient and understanding as ever.
