I took my 15 year old dog here for the entire time I lived in Durham. He is old and has bad cataracts, so he has had a number of accidents where he has injured himself due to his poor eyesight. If I called with an urgent matter, they didn’t make me schedule an appointment- I could drop my dog off and they would be seen that same day. This was really helpful when my dog lost the use of one of his legs temporarily due to an injury and another time when he woke up with a bad eye infection. I would highly recommend Colony Park because it’s clear that they care about providing high quality service and also care about your pets.

I went to Colony Park because of the referral from a family member. Colony Park, thank you for making the vet visit the way it’s supposed to be, stress-free!!! My previous Vet did not offer in room or curbside. I was so HAPPY when I found out that I would be able to have an “actual” appointment and not have to drop my dog off and leave him for several hours. At Colony Park it was easy getting an appointment when I needed it and the vet and the staff were very caring and professional. I would give 10 ⭐️‘S if I could.

I love going to Colony Park, I completely trust them to give my dog the best care. I can tell Dr. McKinney truly cares about all her patients and goes above and beyond to answer any questions you may have. All of the staff I have encountered there are super friendly and helpful. They really care about all the pets that come in!

We began visiting Colony Park in 2000 when we added our first puppy to our family, Bailey. We had received numerous recommendations, all of which were Colony Park Animal Hospital. This was Bailey's initial exam at 6 weeks and we continued to return to Colony Park for regular exams, teeth cleaning, illness events and now they care for our next two Peekapoo dogs, Bodie and Buddy. Exceptional doctors and staff. They are part of our family.

We have used Colony Park for 20+ years and have always been pleased with the great care that our dogs and cats have received. The staff is friendly and professional and the doctors are knowledgeable and caring with pets AND their owners. It has been easy to use their services during the pandemic; the new online check-in questionnaire is a quick and simple timesaver. I always have great confidence that my pets will be well-cared for at Colony Park!

We have been taking our three furry friends to see Dr. Klaitmann for 10+ years now. She is amazing, the practice is great and we wouldn't take our dogs anywhere else! We live across town now, but we still drive to Colony Park even though there are other places much closer. She knows our dogs well, treats them like family and we know she has their best interests at heart. She is thorough but doesn't order unnecessary tests just because. We appreciate her so much!

Strangely, our particular vet did not seem at ease around our dog, she was actually a little afraid of her. She muzzled her which is not necessary when our dog is handled by somebody who understands and knows how to handle dogs. The vet also requested that we pre-sedate dog before coming in to sedate the dog for surgery - seemed a bit excessive. The "bedside manner" /people skills were also lacking. The services performed were done competently but I would ask for another vet before coming back.

I think the people here are very kind and I’m sure they provide excellent pet care. However, I would not recommend for anyone who is a new pet parent or on any kind of budget. I brought my two new rescue dogs in for their first vet appointment and my first as a solo dog mom. I had certainly been expecting to drop some money for pet care, especially since I have two, but this place seemed not only expensive but also did not let me know ahead of time if things during the exam would cost extra, and did not ask for authorization before doing things. And, after the exam, the doctor recommended scheduling a dental cleaning after the exam ($450 per dog!), for which blood work is necessary, and asked if I wanted to get that done now with no mention of the extra $113 per dog it costs. And of course, I didn’t know you can just buy flea and tick prevention online or at Costco, and of course they didn’t mention that either, so I dropped money for their expensive stuff (to the tune of $140 for just three months). I know I am naive to not assume they would be trying to sell me everything, but I thought they might look out for me a bit more. It seems like they’re pretty used to only clientele who don’t blink an eye at dropping $700 at a vet visit. I’m a grad student living on debt, I have to budget, and it doesn’t feel like the doctors here care about that. One tech (I think Ashley?) was incredibly kind and helpful and got the blood work refunded when I decided to wait on the dental cleaning until I could afford it. At the end of the day, I learned a valuable lesson (be aggressive, ask for authorization, do your homework) but I felt kind of taken advantage of and hate feeling like I’m going into a sales room when I’m going to a vets office. I don’t think I’ll be going back here or recommending to friends.

I have been going to Colony Park for at least 4 years. I am very picky about where I take my dogs, as they are not only my best friends, but I do a lot of showing with them in obedience, agility and now nose work, and I need to feel totally confident as to where I take my dogs for their veterinary care. I have found that the vets I have seen at Colony Park have been kind, extremely knowledgeable and professional. And the vet tech staff are also extremely informed and professional. And last, but by far very important, the front desk receptionists are great!! Absolutely professional and just very capable people. That makes a big difference since they are the first people you meet! I highly recommend Colony Park for their consistence and capable care of your pets. That is why I go there!

I have been taking my pets to Colony Park Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Simply the best! Dr. Klaitman is Georgii's vet but I have had nothing but good experiences with Dr. Hughes as well. Just a wonderful staff here.

This year was a new experience, but it worked very nicely for both my cat and for me. It's nice knowing you can still get the care you've come to trust even in weird times!

Always a pleasure working with the doctors and staff at Colony Park. They are most knowledgeable, professional, and kind. I travel from outside of Durham because I trust them 100% with my 4-legged family!

Dr. Klaitman is wonderful! I have a quirky schnoodle that Dr. Klaitman understands and appreciates. She always takes the time to have a thorough discussion with me and is so kind and thoughtful. In addition, Terri the groomer has been amazing with Sasha, who is terrified and not easy to groom. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

I had noticed my dog seemed to be having hearing problems. I moved into a new home about a month before the COVID-19 pandemic began, so I was able to stay home with her. Since she was in a new home, her "pattern" changed and the hearing trouble became more noticeable. I learned about the BAER hearing test online and Dr. Susanne Hughes at CPAH was 1 out of the only 2 in NC recommended on the national website. I contacted CPAH, they were immediately responsive to my emails (during COVID-19), and I got scheduled within a week! The staff was SUPER friendly. Even though COVID-19 made me wait in the parking lot while my little girl was tested, I never felt uneasy. I was so grateful they were even OPEN so she could be tested!! Dr. Hughes called my cell phone within 10 minutes of my dog entering CPAH with the test results, VERY FAST! My dog was 100% deaf in both ears. Dr. Hughes was very patient with me (as I was blind sided) explaining that she was born deaf and gave me resources to help us move forward. I've needed to call on Dr. Hughes since, which I'm not a regular patient, and again...Dr. Hughes, herself, has responded quickly. I appreciate Dr. Hughes and her staff helping us enhance my dog's quality of life. CPAH is truly making a positive difference for animals and their families every day. Thank you.

I love this vet. I chose them as I have a senior dog and they were recommended for seniors. They have been my vet for about two years and always treat my dog really kindly and have made excellent recommendations for her treatment. they're very responsive on the phone and have always seen my dog quickly when I've needed them.
