I've been brining my pets to Carver Street for several years and I can't speak highly enough about my experiences. Everyone is so kind, visits never feel rushed, and my concerns are always respectfully addressed/resolved. The staff are amazing and they treat my pets with a lot of love; the team genuinely seems to have the animals' best interest at heart. I definitely recommend getting your veterinary care at Carver Street!!

I lived in Durham for 6 years and always took my 2 cats to CSAH. I had an awesome experience here with several of the veterinarians, especially Dr. Gillian. She really showed she cared about my cats, especially with my younger cat who has many behavioral issues. They had also made time for me when I found her as a kitten on the street and I needed an appointment the same day. I always looked forward to visiting the vet. The staff here are all super friendly. One time my cats won their Facebook costume contest and we won some cat treats and a t-shirt! Unfortunately I moved out of Durham, and I’m SO sad that I will no longer be coming here. :( Thank you CSAH!

What impressed me the most of Carver Animal Hospital is the quality of care they provide for my dog,Bo when he's sick or just for routine check up It's beyond my expectation! Excellent care!!! Outstanding team of Doctors and Staff!!! Thank you Dr Crabtree and Dr Gillian for taking care of Bo.Thanks to Kiara( hope I spelled it correctly) for being so gentle and caring to Bo.Lets not forget those who are behind the front desk Thank you Jess,Stacy and there's one or more of you at the desk that make /schedule appointments easier for me. I may not know all your names but I remember your faces .I'm so lucky to have this vet for my dog.

I've been bringing my puppy here since I brought her home and have been very impressed with the care she's received! All of the doctors are very knowledgeable and attentive. She recently went in for her spay and they made sure to call the next day to check in on her.

[Note: I wrote this review on 7/9/21 but didn't post it then because I wanted to make sure I wasn't being overly-emotional due to the circumstances. No changes were made.] I don't write reviews very often, but I just had to mention how stellar the service I have received from Dr. Bashor has been over the past year or so. I believe that being a veterinarian is a true calling for him, not just a job. He uncovered (in less than 5 minutes) what an emergency vet could not find/ figure out over several hours, proved it with an inexpensive test and then helped me choose a treatment that was within my current budget. I almost lost my sweet cat that night at the emergency place and now over a year later she is doing great - healthy, happy and purring by my side as I write this - all thanks to Dr Bashor! Then, just this evening, he helped us with the very difficult decision of whether or not to put down a different cat who had a sudden severe (but repeating) neurological issue. Dr. Bashor so generously worked with us until all our questions were answered, way past closing time, yet never displayed any impatience or weariness at all. We had made the appointment for a euthanasia (based on our understanding that his condition was untreatable and debilitating), yet Dr. Bashor took it upon himself to fully examine the cat to make sure that there was nothing to be done, and he made sure that we felt very well informed of the cat's condition & options, no doubt so that we would feel comfortable with our decision and not second guess it later on. In today's busy world, who would choose to sacrifice so much of their personal time and energy for the sake of a small furry creature and his owners, especially to deal with something this heart-wrenching? His actions that day were way "above and beyond," and extremely kind. It sounds over the top, but his kindness has bolstered my faith in humanity. His knowledge and expertise were apparent in every comment, and the care and respect he showed to our otherwise healthy feline friend during the last hour of his life was heartwarming and confidence-inspiring. He gave us time to grieve and say goodbye to Maximus without making us feel like we were an imposition, despite the fact that everyone else in the office had gone home for the day. I trust Dr. Bashor's assessments, judgments and recommendations - 100% - which is not something I can say about too many people I have run across in the medical community. He embodies the perfect balance of professionalism while being personable and down to earth... he's scientific (professorial even!) without being arrogant or condescending... and he shows just the right amount of guidance - especially on difficult decisions - without being pushy or judgmental. Even when I'm slow to catch on, he does not become impatient but explains things again, perhaps in a slightly different way, and seems to truly enjoy not only serving the needs of the furry friend but their human caregivers as well. It's clear that he loves the science, and enjoys sharing this knowledge with people. Dr. Bashor seems to have great passion for his work and the animals themselves, and I have never met a more compassionate, easy going, dedicated, super accommodating or capable veterinarian. Since I have had a lot of pets over many decades, that's saying a lot! Thank you, Dr. Bashor, for all you have done for my pets, and - if I may - for all the other people's pets whose owners do not take the time to write, but no doubt think about your contribution to the quality of their pet's lives and how you have set their minds at ease, knowing that their pets are in such capable and loving hands. It is such an ongoing pleasure to work with such a truly caring professional in what feels to me like a true partnership, and my heart is filled with gratitude to have finally found him!

I have never in my life recieved such amazing care for my dogs before I came to Carver St. Animal Hospital. Not only do they care about the animals they also care about the owners. One of my dogs is very old and has a skin condition. They take care of her so well and make me feel so comfortable. They are always willing to answer any question to put you at ease. There have also been a couple of times I've had to bring my other dog in for an emergency visit and they always had room for me. Dr. Basher is kind, compassionate, and always puts me at ease when it comes to my dogs. I wouldn't send couldn't ask for a better vet.

Took almost an hour to save 2 dogs from running down the middle of the highway and almost getting killed in the road multiple times. Their own employee stopped to help me get them into my truck and she told me to take them to the hospital that they would help. (She couldn’t because he had her own dog in her car) I drove these 2 dogs 15 miles out of the way as instructed by employee. Only to be told too bad. Your problem. I don’t live even live here!!!! You’d think with only a couple weeks before Christmas they would have had a heart. Shame on you.

CSAH used to be great but they have been recently bought by a conglomorate and things have gone down hill rapidly. They have given all the private information of their clients, without permission or notice, to a company that is a defendant in a class action fraud lawsuit and is now sending out unsolicited and fraudulent spam to CSAH clients posing as the hospital itself while marketing their products. This company, Covetrus, has gotten a bunch of bad reviews you can read on the Better Business Bureau site in Portland, ME. When I voiced my objections to this new policy due to the misrepresented spam they told me to take our 4 dogs elsewhere. Such is the new regime. They did not like the fact that I asked them to remove emails and phone numbers from our file so they could not be distributed withour our knowledge or permission. The good old CSAH is gone... Sad.

Dr. Bashor at Carver Street is very patient with my big dog. The dog hates going, but everyone takes their time and tolerates his bad behavior really well. They are always easy to get on the phone and quick to fill prescriptions, make time for appointments, and explain care for my dog at each appointment.
