We brought our 12 year old German Shepherd in because he was choking and spitting up white foam. We were scared and he was scared but we immediately felt like we were in good hands. Dr. Kimberly Renehan was our doctor. She and the …

I try to find the good in everything, but I had write this. My 10 year old dog had a stomach issue and what seemed like early Parkinsons. I brought him to this vet for an exam: The Good: Vet was Able to schedule an appointment on the same day. The bad: We had to wait outside because of a suspected respiratory issue. I asked the vet tech if we could wait in the designated waiting room, because there were 0 people in it and its was cold outside. The vet tech got irritated. Reluctantly, she gave us an exam room to wait in. After about 5 minutes of waiting in the exam room by myself with my mask in, she comes into the exam room and says, "you need to put your mask over your nose or you need to go outside." I then cancelled my appointment and left. I understand people have bad days. However, A total Karen, is the only way to describe this employee. My dog is sick and needed vet care. Unfortunately, caring for my sick dog was last on NMAH list of priorities. Furthermore, I do not want to discuss the situation further with NMAH's generic office number. That's poor leadership. If NMAH provides a name and direct contact info I would be happy to explain further.

Brought my dog in to figure out why he’s peeing so much, received a diabetes diagnosis after testing and determined he needed a tooth pulled. Came back to have the tooth pulled, while there he caught kennel cough. Brought him back in and shared pneumonia concerns, my concern was dismissed. He did in fact develop pneumonia after contracting kennel cough there. Brought him back in, given meds. Subsequent back and forth for the same issues resulting in an almost $4k price tag over a few visits. On the heels of this snow storm and the family being ill, requested simple a refill of antibiotics for the same pneumonia symptoms that have not yet resolved and was told no, must come in ahead of this snowstorm while sick. Despite his illness being the same that resulted from their care. Thanks a lot, money grabbers.

DO NOT GO HERE. My dog got a cut on her ear that wouldn't stop bleeding. Long story short two separate visits on two different days and $240 later North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital still could not provide me with any solution to keep the ear from bleeding. I went 10 minutes down the road to Totalbond Veterinary Hospital at Davidson and had a way to safely secure my dog's ear so it wouldn't keep re-opening and it could heal. The team at Totalbond was friendly and quick. Highly recommend going there instead of North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital.

Although I have been bringing my dogs to North Meck since moving to the LKN area, the unprofessional, hostile attitude and disregard for pet's needs from Dr. Lisa Bancroft are why I no longer bring any of my pets to this vet. After several encounters with her, to give benefit of the doubt for her perhaps having a bad/off day, it was apparent that it was her style. We sought different vet care in the area and are more than pleased with a switch! Our newest adoption from CBHBB loves his vet and they love seeing him :)

I would like to start all saying that I never write reviews. I have been at this veterinarian office for 14 years with the same animal. We get several medications is filled here monthly. I was never informed that there is an $11 per medication dispensing fee. I do not fault this practice for having a dispensing fee. I do fault the practice for never informing me or disclosing the fee for all these years. I have never even heard of a dispensing fee until recently. I decided to ask when I went in today if my pets medication had a dispensing fee. The girl at the front desk told me yes but it is very low. I asked her what it was and she was unsure. She directed me to go to the pharmacy. I did go over to the pharmacy and asked there and again was told that they did not know. I asked to speak to whoever did know. A tall man came out of the back with a condescending attitude. He told me that yes it’s $11 per medication. I told him that in all the years I’ve been with his practice I was never told that there is a fee for getting the prescriptions filled there. He had a really poor attitude and was not kind to me at all. I drive from Mooresville and have for years to bring my beloved pet to this practice. I am absolutely considering switching because of the way I was treated here. Please be aware when you were getting your prescriptions filled that there is a fee. Like I said, I do not have a problem with the fee I have a problem with a non-disclosure and the poor customer service when I’m trying to ask about what I’m spending at the practice.

I have had a great experience with this animal hospital. My dog has been suffering with allergies for a while and Dr. Blackard has been so helpful with treating her. The entire staff is very patient with my skittish pup and works to make sure she is comfortable.

Poorly handled end of life situation. This is the fourth pet I’ve lost. Always so hard. But never had the difficulty and sadness exacerbated by poor decision making by the veterinarian staff before. They were open on Sunday for our emergency need, that is why we went there and I’m grateful for that. It’s always a possibility you won’t come home with your pet, but his last moments with us could’ve been so much better.

My family and I had a brief but very impactful experience with NMAH. Our dog Roo got suddenly sick over a weekend, so we brought her in to NMAH on a Sunday morning. Dr. Rachel Leist spent a majority of her day caring for and diagnosing our pup, all while being incredibly patient, gracious and empathetic. After a full day of x-rays, ultrasounds & IVs on Sunday, we took Roo home hoping she would get better, but things unfortunately deteriorated further and we had to bring her in impromptu on Monday. Again Dr. Leist worked Roo in to her already busy schedule, performing more x-rays, IVs, etc. to try and figure out what was going on. Ultimately, Roo was dealing with a sudden onset of cancer & liver failure, which was irreversible. Dr. Leist calmly and effectively shared with us our options and the situation we were dealing with. While having to make the tough decision to prevent Roo from any further suffering, the way in which Dr. Leist handled the entire process was amazing. As tough as it can be to put down a family pet, Dr. Leist made the process easier with her empathy and care. I can't speak highly enough about the entire staff within NMAH, all of whom were caring, gracious and accommodating to our needs over a tough 3-day period. My family and I would like to extend our sincere Thank You to the entire staff at NMAH for everything you did for us and our dog Roo during her final days. We would not have been able to get through this without you.

Dr. Erin is fantastic! You can tell she genuinely cares about the animals she works with. She even called the next day to check on our pup that had undergone a surgical procedure. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our entire visit. Very reasonably priced and professional.

We've been seeing Dr. Lydolph since we got our Airedale puppy nine months ago. She's been professional, informative, and clearly cares about doing the best for our pets. We've been through all of the vaccinations, a couple of illnesses, and just last week had our now 11 month old fixed. Dr Lydolph called us the day after surgery, on the weekend, to see if everything was okay. I also want to mention that the entire staff has been great. Everyone truly seems happy to be there. The facility is very well equipped. I initially didn't mark them as a Good value because I think the pricing is on the high side, but then I changed that...I'm getting the best and don't mind paying for it.

I am absolutely loving North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital! They are so focused on fear-free handling and experiences. My pup has some fears about going to the vet and they have encouraged me to bring him by for “happy visits” so he can just walk around, say hi to staff and get treats so that every time he goes there it isn’t to be poked and prodded. Thank you all so much for caring about how my pet feels!!

I've been taking my German Shepherd, Harbor, to North Meck since I relocated to Cornelius in 2017. I went to Hambright first and wasn't particularly impressed with them, so decided to give North Meck a try. I couldn't have made a better decision! Harbor has since torn 2 ACLs requiring TPLO surgeries and leaped off a 10ft high deck (sometimes you just have one of those kids) and each time Dr. Lydolph has put my mind at ease and given her excellent care. We now have 3 dogs and have moved 30 mins away from Cornelius, but we continue to (and will only ever) get our veterinary care from North Meck Animal Hospital. The staff is pleasant and attentive, and all the doctors we've seen are equally so, and certainly passionate about their jobs. During the pandemic we had several visits between the 3 dogs and not only did they have a smooth and efficient system given the situation at hand, we didn't have to worry about not being able to go in with our kids because we know they're always in great hands. We can trust that every time visit we'll get honest care and a full break down of our babies and feel supported and knowledgeable of the situations at hand. For the record, I've lived in 3 states and been to a variety of vets before moving here and can honestly say North Meck is exceptional in comparison to the other places I've been.

Dr.Rolley took very great care of my baby Prince just recently. She was so kind and friendly and broke everything down for me to understand. I cried a little as well but she was very comforting. But my dog is doing so much better now and I will surely recommend this vet office to anyone. Thank you all and the staff as well for your generosity.

10 stars. My dog needed emergency surgery and they were able to fit her in within hours of me calling. Dr. Voigt was very up front about the risks and the costs, and was extremely communicative during the whole process and expressed extreme compassion for my pup. A long road of recovery ahead, but I am very impressed with this animal hospital and would recommend them to anyone.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience working with the staff and the incredible Dr. Blackard at NM Animal Hospital. We have a one year old french bull dog that had cherry eye in both eyes and a few other small problems when he was a puppy. First the entire staff is super nice, helpful, and very responsive. Dr. Blackard is seriously the best vet you could ask for. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and thorough. You can tell immediately how much she cares about your pet, and she is very helpful (and patient) willing to answer all your questions to make sure you feel comfortable. Our very first visit with our puppy she spent an hour with us answering all our puppy questions, and examining our baby to make sure everything was OK. She is also extremely talented. She fixed both of our puppy's eyes the first time, and then was a valuable resource when we had questions after during his recovery. We love her, and we are endlessly grateful for her and all of the staff at North Mecklenburg.

Let me tell you that this place is amazing! Instantly when I went in I was greeted with friendly faces, even with the whole virus going on. They were nice and I loved that. I brought my ferret named S'morez to them and they fell in love with him. I went here because everywhere else I wanted to go to was close or wanted to cost me and arm and a leg, they're prices were reasonable. They made me feel comfortable to trust them to help out S'morez as he has been feeling sick for a week. After all the treatment and medication, the following day S'morez was walking and playing again like he used to do and I couldn't be more happier. I had so much fear that he was going to die from not eating but now, that fear is gone and I could thank everyone that helped out enough. My ferret is getting healthier and happier every day and I highly recommend this place. Thank you guys for helping S'morez!

My grand fur was extremely sick. This was the only place that was able to help him/save his life. I'm truly grateful for the loving and caring staff that help him get back to his feisty lovable self.

5 Stars!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Today, our 13 year old pointer mix gave us quite a scare! It was a holiday weekend and our vet was closed...but we called North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital and we were able to get him right in. It turned out to be a seizure, but we truly thought it was the end...!! Dr. Erin Koballa and the entire staff was incredible and compassionate and i highly recommend North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital!!

A BIG shout out to North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital! They were a life saver for my Grand dog Callie. She has autoimmune issues and needed a particular medication that my daughter wasn't able to get timely via mail order. North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital had it in stock and the compassionate staff understood the need and were able to dispense the medication via the speciality vet prescription. My daughter, Callie and I appreciate this wonderful folks.❤

I had an emergency with my 12-year-old dog Friday morning and I was quite upset. I arrived before 7 AM without an appointment and waited in the dark. We have been going here for probably 20 years with multiple pets , our favorite doctor is Dr. James. The receptionist was completely sympathetic and immediately ushered us and the technician was also in tune to my dogs needs. The doctor saw us immediately and the problem was assessed and she explained everything to us thoroughly. Dr Rolley was new to us and was extraordinary. Her love for animals was obvious. I again highly recommend this practice and will continue to drive from Mooresville!

I love North Meck Animal hospital They treat me like family there. I would not go anywhere else. This is the most professional well knowledged vet that I’ve ever been to. All of the staff is great. I use Dr. Bancroft and Dr. Lydolf personally and they are amazing!! So thorough. Theyve go above and beyond and always work me in and take care of me till no end. I can’t thank them enough for all that they’ve done for my Two Chihuahuas. I’ve been going to them for six years and they are absolutely wonderful

I brought my dog in for an ACL tear surgery consult, and I can honestly say the staff and doctors at North Meck are top notch in care, knowledge, and doing what they say. Zero issues with my entire experience, and the doctor even took the time to do a full evaluation and help explain things I never new before that visit with my other vet. Huge thank you to Dr. James, you truly are a professional and did a great job. Bella says thank you as well! I highly recommend this hospital to anyone needing advice, general care, or a more specialized procedure.
