I know about their dedication and efforts to find unwanted animals good forever homes. My daughter has fostered more than one dog and actively participates in the rescue.

I've debated writing this review for months, but it's weighed on me enough. Let me preface this by saying I adore my cat Phoebe (née Daisy), and I would do anything for her. I've been hesitant to write this and hoped her issues would go away before I had to, since I have exchanged emails with Roseann in the past regarding some other undisclosed issues. Here's why this whole experience was shady: 1. I thought it was bizarre that none of the references I provided on my application were contacted (all references assured me of this). 2. My application was approved suspiciously quickly. I applied on a Friday afternoon. I was sent an email at 10 pm on a Sunday saying my app was approved, and I needed to pick her up at 6 pm the next day. Didn't see the email until I was at work the next morning. 3. NO MEDICAL RECORDS SENT UNTIL I WAS PARKED OUTSIDE OF THE PICKUP LOCATION. 4. I picked up my cat, and the first words out of the volunteer's mouth were, "Oh good thing you brought a large carrier! She's a real chunker!" Hold on. She was advertised as being 7-8 lbs. But okay. 5. I noticed various undisclosed concerns immediately upon my return home. She has a broken tooth. She has permanent lameness in her front leg from an injury. She is quite overweight and has labored breathing/congestion. And the cherry on top, she has had diarrhea nearly every single day for the past 7 months I've had her, including in her carrier on the way home from the rescue! I took her to the vet the next day and this gal was 12.5 POUNDS, had an infected, broken tooth requiring removal and tendon damage from her injury, but otherwise the vet wasn't concerned about the breathing or the diarrhea just yet. I had emailed Roseann regarding the limp, her weight, and her breathing but NOT the GI unrest because her vet and I both HOPED the diarrhea was stress-related and besides the previously stated litany of problems, she was, by all appearances, healthy. Roseann offered to take Phoebe to their vet to get everything checked out, but I was wary of that after this experience, and I had signed the waiver saying if I wasn't satisfied, I needed to return her to them and them only. I was (maybe irrationally, maybe not) scared that if I gave her to them for a vet visit, I'd never see her again. Fast forward 7 months, I have now spent THOUSANDS of dollars trying to diagnose and treat my cat's GI disease that she clearly had prior to being adopted out, as her medical records stated that she had been to the vet a couple times for diarrhea already and because I could tell she had been previously shaved. They advertised her as short/medium haired, but she's quite luxuriously fluffy now. She had likely been shaved because of the diarrhea (as I have had to do to her as well because of the mess). Her GI disease is autoimmune in nature, and she's going in for ANOTHER biopsy to confirm just what disease it could be (fun!), so this problem existed and no one thought to let me know. I am sure the adoption was rushed so they could offload a cat with GI issues, those issues being one of the top reasons cats are given up or not adopted to begin with. Please proceed with caution if you choose to adopt from C2CND. Pet rescue is a noble cause, and I'm sure most of the adoptions are above-board, but this was extremely disappointing. It saddens me to think that she was in chronic GI distress and no one thought it warranted a closer look. C2CND: please consider releasing the medical records of the animals you adopt out sooner than 10 minutes before you hand the pets off. Please consider being more transparent about potential medical issues. There are plenty of people willing and financially able to take in pets with medical issues and/or special needs. Thank you for parting with Phoebe so she could finally get the help and the love she deserves, and I'm looking forward to your retaliatory reply that Phoebe's autoimmune disease is somehow my fault because I didn't mention it in an email.

We have had our sweet kitten from Catering to Cats and Dogs for about a year now. They were really great to work with! The adoption application is straightforward and they obtain the information they need from you quickly and efficiently. We actually put in applications with multiple rescues when we were searching for our cat and Catering to Cats and Dogs is the only rescue that processed our application in a timely manner. We found the kitten we wanted on their website but didn't want to take him home until we came back from a vacation we were taking (we didn't want to bring him home a week early just to leave him) and they easily worked with our schedule! They answered all of my emails quickly and his foster mom left us with her information after adoption in case we had any questions. I wouldn't hesitate to adopt from them again!

I was looking to add a new kitty to my home back in April/May. C2CND has kitties in Charlotte's Mac Tabby Cat Café roaming around which is awesome because it helps you bond with the kitties and determine if they're a perfect fit for you. I adopted Logan from them in May. The adoption process was smooth and they require specific conditions to be met, which makes sense because they want to make sure the kitties are going to the perfect home. Logan is the best cat I could've ever asked for. Everyone was very nice and professional as well! If I wasn't at a 2 pet limit at my apartment, I'd be adopting from them again for sure.

Finding Catering to Vats and Dogs was such a blessing. The ease of applying for adoption down to the very end of the process was amazing and smooth. This organization definitely knows what they are doing and they do it well. What a small price to pay to adopt a fur baby versus purchasing from a breeder.

This organization is the best there is! I would HIGHLY recommend you adopt a new pet from them! They take such great care of their animals and REALLY care about them. They have hearts of gold and you would be lucky to work with them! The day after we adopted our dog, he got loose and ran away. They came to us immediately, set up a search party and spent day and night looking for him. The amount of dedication and love they have is incredible. They did not stop until they found our sweet boy! I cannot say enough great things about them! I’m so grateful!

From application to adoption, this wonderful rescue agency was wonderful to work with. Every volunteer we interacted with clearly has a love for these sweet animals. We are totally obsessed with our new puppy and so glad Catering to Cats and Dogs helped match us with our sweet girl.

We just adopted our sweet Lou from c2cnd. I was very impressed by the thoroughness of their investigation of us! They want to ensure their pets end up in great homes. Despite all the steps involved in the process, they were very responsive and moved the process along as quickly as possible. We are thrilled to welcome our new family member! We hit the jackpot thanks to c2cnd!

I adopted my puppy from Catering to Cats and Dogs and the entire process was a disaster. The adoption process was completely flawed. From the start, our home visit was online, which wasn't an issue because of COVID. But I initially went through the adoption process for a female lab mix. After I went through the background and virtual interview, I was told that the female lab mix would not be a good fit for my home because she wasn't good with kids. They instead offered her brother, whom I never got to meet and only saw one picture. I said okay, could we get a chance to visit the dog before we do the adoption and they said yes. When the brother arrived at my home for a "visit", they walked around my house to make sure it was safe and told me that this was the drop off day. This made me feel very uncomfortable because I was under the impression that we would get a quick visit with the dog to see if he was a good match for us and then have a day or two to think over it. Instead the lady told me for a lack of better words "it was now or never." With my children being there and so excited, I took a chance on the dog even under the pressure from the adoption agency. After a couple days the puppy started to continuously snap at my children, hump them and bark them into corners. He bit holes in my carpet, holes in my walls and cried and barked all night. I realize this is typical puppy behavior, but it is was not "kid friendly" behavior. My kids were scared of the puppy after a couple weeks of having him and his behavior did not change. I emailed them to come pick the puppy up because he was not a good fit and asked for a refund due to the fact that I was misled on his "kid friendly" behavior and supposedly "calm" nature. They refused stating that they are not responsible for what he does out of their care. In the end, they are going to resell the dog and get a new rehoming fee for him, so it would've at least been a good gesture to return the $308 fee that we paid. Overall, the experience was horrible and I would not advise anyone to adopt from this agency.

Catering to Cats and Dogs helped us find the perfect dog for our first family pet. The application process was thorough, but easy and my wife and I are now the proud parents of a happy, cuddly dog. Thank you for allowing us to be Apache’s forever family. ❤️

So easy from start to finish and all staff I worked with were professional and thorough. The foster for my Penny was on time, sweet, personable and a pleasure to meet. I could see the pup had been loved by her. Overall, a great experience. Definitely recommend. This dog is exactly as described. Already in love with her.

I have adopted two cats from Catering to Cats and Dogs from two different fosters and both experiences have been great. The cats are great and both fosters were knowledgeable about the cats and super easy to work with.

I adopted the most wonderful little Schnauzer mix in the world at Catering to Cats and Dogs! He is about 9 yrs old and he is absolutely perfect for me! The process went smoothly and I was pleased that the lady who visited me was concerned that their animals went only to loving caring homes. My little fellow has one, for sure! I highly recommend them!

We adopted an amazing kitty from Catering to Cats and Dogs and the process couldn’t have been easier. We were approved within a couple days and immediately found our perfect match. Everyone was very communicative and answered my many questions about various kitties. We will definitely adopt from them again!

The staff and volunteers at Catering too Cats and Dogs are wonderful. I was so glad to know they did home visits to make sure the pet is going to a safe environment. I would recommend Catering to Cats and Dogs a million times over. If I'm ever in want for another pup, this is where I would go

I adopted my dog Mesha from Catering to Cats and Dogs about 6 months ago and it was easily the best decision I’ve ever made! Mesha came to me potty trained & crate trained (thanks to the amazing foster family), up to date on all shots, and spayed! The lady who was involved in the adoption was helpful in answering my questions on the day of and even after. Thankful to have found her from such a great and supportive rescue!

Overall the adoption process for my cat was quick and very easy. My new cat is sweet, lovable, and very playful. However, shortly after bringing her to my home, I learned that she has fleas. I’m a super clean person so this is VERY frustrating. It would have really been great if I was informed of this ahead of time by the adoption agency…they knew good and well this cat got fleas…UGH!!!

I had a very pleasant and easy experience adopting a cat from Catering to Cats and dogs. The kitten I wanted was on hold for someone else, and when they were a no-show, C2CAD emailed to let me know so I could immediately go scoop her up while they were still at Petsmart. She’s the sweetest, silliest thing, so I’m glad they did.

I was looking for a small dog to adopt. After being approved, they told me they didn’t think the dog I had chosen was a good fit because he was very active and nervous. They suggested I pick another dog. I picked Mack. Staff approved that choice. He is as perfect as a dog can be. .I couldn’t be happier.

Do not adopt a pet from here. They are not honest about the health of pets to the adopters or people interested in said pet. You are likely to fall in love with an animal, bring it home, and spend $1000s on vet bills taking care of a sick pet. The rescue also will not be fully honest when you ask! They’ll say “Oh just a cold!” when in reality your pet has something more serious. I get this is a volunteer-run rescue, but that should not matter. Focus on the health of your animals before you adopt them out to unsuspecting adopters.

I adopted my first fur baby with them back in 2019. The application seemed a little bit lengthy and I thought what do you mean you’re going to do a home visit??? But since then I’ve adopted a second dog with them in 2020 and even started fostering through in 2021 and the more I learn about all of the dogs that need homes the more I appreciate that VOLUNTEERS take the time to make sure that every pup in the rescue is going to the best home and best fit. Please consider checking out the pups in need of a home on their page.

I have adopted 2 pets from C2CND and they are fabulous! The process is seamless and smooth. They work hard to match the rescue and new owner's personalities. I love the work they do in the Charlotte community!

I can't thank Catering to Cats and Dogs enough for helping us find our newest family member, Merlin. Working with everyone there was wonderful. They were very helpful in answering all our questions as well as making sure that our household was a good fit for Merlin. Tina and Renee have been so helpful every step of the way. This rescue group is one that honestly has the best interest of these animals at heart. Thank you again for all you do and I would recommend them 100% if you are looking to open your hearts and homes to a new fur family member.

We had about given up in our search for a new fur baby. And then we tried Catering to Cats and Dogs! They were so thorough in helping us narrow our search and begin the adoption process. With their help, we found just what we were looking for and needed: Midnight, an 8-year-old chihauhau rat terrier mix. It didn't take Midnight long to wrap two humans around his chihauhau paws and he was pure gold in helping his older sister adjust to life without her recently departed sister. She passed nine months after her sister and Midnight came to the rescue again, this time helping my husband and me with our grief.

Our experience with this adoption agency was short and disappointing. They refused to allow us to adopt a cat because we are outside of their service area (just 1 hr. away from them). We offered to do a virtual home tour and to drive down to Charlotte (from Winston-Salem) for the cat, but they refused to allow us to purchase a cat from them.

I had a great experience adopting Charlie from Catering to Cats and Dogs. The staff was responsive and prompt, but most importantly you could tell they genuinely desired to see him go to a good home. The adoption fee was very reasonable, and adopting that sweet boy was life changing. Highly recommend working with this group to find your new furry family member(s).

The process was very easy and price reasonable. The kitten was spayed and got her shots which were included in the adoption price. She is a very playful kitten and rumbactious. Thank you for all you done to make this happen. Jack Spaleta

I've debating leaving this review for months... I found my kitty (Neville) at Mac Tabby Cat Cafe (where the adoptions go through Catering to Cats and Dogs). He is the literally the sweetest cat and I am lucky every day to have him. When I found him, the application process was straightforward and easy. They checked my credentials, called my references, and I was approved for adoption. My adoption date was pushed back 1 week because they told me he "had a cold" and they didn't want to send him to a strange place feeling bad. I completely understood and appreciated this. I emailed a week later to confirm that he was feeling better and I could pick him up. They said yes. When I picked him up, they did not disclose that he was still sick and gave me no medication to help with his "cold". They should pass along any medications they have the cat currently on, but I was given none so they were not actively treating the issue. They do not send the cat's medical records until the day of adoption and upon receiving these I saw that my cat had an extensive history of upper respiratory infections. When I brought him home he was heavily congested and his nose was so irritated from constantly being sick that he was literally sneezing blood. This continued for months. My apartment was covered in bloody cat snot and it took rounds and rounds of expensive medications to help clear this up. I love him and am more than happy to do what it takes to take care of my cat, but I am appalled that the extent of his sickness was not disclosed. Not sending medical records until you have already committed and paid to adopt a sweet animal made it seem like they were trying to hide very important information. I completely understand that unexpected expenses and medical issues come up, but with with a known history of illness, I cannot believe that this was not disclosed in advance. Not everyone can afford constant medical bills. It feels very unprofessional to me. Also, with him in a cat café populated by several other cats, he could have easily passed along his virus to other susceptible cats. He also had several other medical issues upon adopting him such as lesions on his back leg and behind his ear, and a severe case of stomatitis (which I am now scheduling surgery to have his teeth pulled). None of this was noted in his medical records or was acknowledged by the adoption agency. Were they even aware? Seems cruel to the cat. I know my case is a special one and my cat is just a sick little guy, but don't let an adoption agency get the best of you. Ask the questions you need to. Learn about your animal. You and your potential pet deserve full transparency.
