Mt Pleasant Veterinary Clinic Chesapeake, North Carolina

I recently switched to this from another just down the road and I am shocked at how much friendlier, affordable, and professional this team is compared to the other.

We have been going to Mt Pleasant Veterinary since 1976, and have always been impressed by their professionalism and caring ways with our pets. They have cared for our seven dogs over the years, and each one had a full life thanks to Dr Nethaway and Dr Banta and their teams.

Well let me be the first to write a bad review. I finally managed to get my moms dog to the vet. (She passed 2 years ago). I used care credit. Spent nearly 600.00.. Was told flea meds were included. And were in her bag. I never received them . i called and emailed them. My moms dog is still itching and miserable. I have no more money for her treatment. Ive never been ripped off by a vet like this in my whole life!!!

I've been bringing my cat here for a while and then decided to get a puppy. They told me what to expect with a puppy (medical care perspective) and my pup loves seeing the great staff at Mt. Pleasant Vet Clinic.

Nothing but praise for the professionals at Mt. Pleasant Vet! This review is based on a visit to the clinic which occurred on 9 November, 2021. Using the website, and with no trouble at all, I was able to register my dog and set-up an appointment. My rescue Pit who is extremely fear aggressive needed his rabies shot. Recognizing that having him near other animals (at the clinic) was going to be problematic, I explained the situation to the staff (Dr. Noce), and she went the extra mile to ensure the safety of my not only my pet, but also the staff, and other animals. Dr. Noce made some excellent recommendations for future care, and for that I am much appreciative. Other members of the staff (Kim and Haley) were extremely easy to work with, and they truly helped make this visit a success. I HIGHLY recommend this clinic to those looking to get their pet the finest care in the area.

I have been bringing my dogs here for years and have always been pleased, but the current mix of vets and vet-tecs have really surpassed my expectations. Every one from receptionist to Vet seem to help make the visit worry free. The medical care given to my dogs is designed to keep them healthy, they are committed during emergencies, and everyone is downright friendly. You leave knowing that your animal has had the best care available.

Love all the doctors and staff. They are very thorough and kind. We've had several pets cared for by them and continue with our new puppy.

The staff was very helpful. They even brought cleaning supplies out to my car when my dog had an accident while we were waiting.

I love everybody in this facility!! They are always ready to help, they listen to you and give you good advices! Thank you for taking such good care of Sheba, Sushi and Lady Bug! I just don't know what I'd do without you all!! ❤

This was my first time visiting, and I called under emergency circumstances. They saw my pup in 2 hours time when my (former) vet wouldn’t and neither could the ER vet. They were prompt and courteous. I really appreciate the fact that they treated us like a regular patient! We found a new vet!!

We’ve been bringing our pets here for years! Love the Drs, staff is always friendly ...and now they have grooming!, what a bonus!

I am very thankful for this vet and staff. Our Maverick has anxiety and is anxious. They have gone over and beyond to work with us to make sure they take care of his needs. I/we true appreciate them. Adrian & Teresa Jones. Mavericks parents ???? . This is an add on. We took him back today 9/14 & they were able to do his shots. He has fear aggression and Dr.B was able to prescribe somethings that finally calmed him down. We are so very thankful. Around people he is never calm. Today he was Awesome. Cant say enough great things! I've personally had Dr. Noce as one of my boys vet and she is just great! My two ???? kiddos got sick and I've been called at least three times since their first visit to see how they are doing in their recovery, I've had pets my whole life and I've never been to a more involved and caring clinic. They really do make your pets part of their family. My husband and I are 100% set on this being our vet for any future visits and pets! This will be the place I recommend to anyone looking for a vet!!

I called Mt. Pleasant VC in a panic b/c my new puppy was having problems his 2nd day home. They were so kind and patient with me on the phone and gave me instructions on how to care for him until the next morning, when they got me in first thing. The vet and assistant were both so sweet, and they made us feel very at ease. Plus, the value for services was incredible, and they sent us home with so much information on future vet costs and how to care for our pup. Will definitely be back!

The only reason why I am leaving this review is because they came up while searching for a new clinic to take my puppy to, after he has been going to Mt. Pleasant for the past year. I had nothing to complain about until recently when they pocketed around $500-$600 for services they did not perform. We signed up for their membership (around $80 monthly) thinking most of his needs would be included in the monthly payment. After speaking with someone, they told me that the neutering is covered but not everything included in the procedure. After adding up the costs, it was actually cheaper to get him fixed by the SPCA. I let the representative know that we would just go elsewhere for that due to this and she replied okay. Months later, & we were still getting charged monthly and we inquired what that money was going towards since he is not due for anything else included in the contract. Nothing. Nothing was the answer and they refused to give us any amount of money back, along with no credit for future services. The only solution they gave was to cancel the last months draft from happening in the future & cancel the plan. That should have been the solution when I originally called and told them what our plan was. Or even just a "oooh.. heads up because of your contract you will still be responsible to pay for it even if you do not get it". But they were so busy and just wanted to get me off the phone, she did not care that we were just going to keep paying for our funds to go into their pocket with no benefit to my animal other than the free nail trimmings that's included in the plan. I am sorry but a nail trimming is not worth the $80. I also stopped taking him for the trimmings because they did not do as good of a job than when we go to PetSmart. Lastly, my last ditch effort to give them the opportunity to make this right from a customer service perspective was ignored. As I stated to them, I only brought my pup here due to the raving reviews about their customer service from family/friends/coworkers. And I know that one customer leaving the clinic is not a big deal, and I was not expecting the moon and the stars. But if you cannot understand how this is not fair to a customer, then there is something very wrong. Side note the Norfolk SPCA was great and knowledgeable so please do not overlook them when searching for care. Neutering was only $100, and the staff was really nice... didn't mind going above and beyond to ensure I knew how to care for my pup afterwards and such.

I was referred here by a girl on Facebook that used to live here and she loved these Vets and staff. I've never met this woman but we've become friends through social media. Anyway, my Pittie Lilly had torn her ACL and the first Vet I took her to, immediately wanted to do surgery or possibly amputate her leg!! So, after talking to this woman who referred me, we saw Dr. Banta and he said it wasn't torn completely so we gave her pain meds and Glucosamine, crated her most of the time for a couple of weeks and she's fine!!! We love everyone there!!❤

I've been coming to this clinic ever since it was named Companion Animal, under a different owner. Regardless of the number of doctors and staff that have come and gone, my pets have always been treated as priority. When financial hardships have been a problem, the staff has always worked with me, and never turned any pet away from treatment. Doctors explain diagnoses in an easy to understand manner, and have given me options on treatment plans. One time I came 25 minutes after the office closed with an injured cat. I was not turned away. Dr. Banta examined him and kept him overnight. Eye surgery was needed the next day, which was a Saturday, and his day off. Some businesses set strict rules and do not budge, but this place is not one of them. If you want to take your pet to a businesses which goes "above and beyond," then Mt. Pleasant Veterinary Clinic is the place to go!

They are always so gentle and sweet with my little yorkie and get her in for last minute appointments when she needs to be seen.

This veterinary clinic staff have been my dog’s primary caregivers for six years since she was 8 weeks old. They are caring, responsive, and on top of everything. They take the time and effort to consider all aspects of her care, and recommend treatments only when needed. Dr. Bana is great, but when I can’t get an appointment with him—every other caretaker has been helpful and thorough. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Great place with absolutely 5 star service. Been with them since 3.5 years and never had any issues. Prompt responsive via phone or email. Dr. Banta, Dr. Noche...entire staff treats your pets as their. Would appreciate if their prices were a bit more comparable but I guess we get what we pay for!!! So no complains.

The staff are amazing. They are caring, very friendly, and professional. They all treat our baby just like she is one of their own. The doctors, nurses, and receptionist all take the extra time out to thoroughly explain details of our dog’s care and future needs. The facility is always immaculate. I give this organization the highest recommendation possible.

I’ve been taking my dog here since he was born in 2011. I’ve had nothing but great experience with all of the doctors here. Wouldn’t take him anywhere else.

Love this place! My babies love coming out to see them. I would not go any where else.

They worked us in on a Friday afternoon when our baby was clearly in pain and they are not even our regular vet!! As it turned out she had a double ear infection so they saved her a lot more pain and a loooong and very stressful wait at the emergency vet for her and us!!! They are so kind and compassionate from the receptionists to the techs to the Doctors! I can’t say enough good about them. I wish they weren’t so far away from us!!

First time there. My dog was sick and they got me in that day. Staff was wonderful! Tech and Vet took time to talk with me and was not rushed. I was 100% impressed. And the price was very reasonable.

I was very impressed with the care we received for my dog. We just moved to the state and needed same day care. They were able to get me in same-day, we’re so kind and gave me all the information I needed. We will be making Dr. K. our primary vet here!!

I totally would not take my dog anywhere else. Dr, Banta and his staff are wonderful, professional and so nice. Even with the curbside we have to do now , Dr Banta was on the phone with me for a good 20 mins discussing things with me and making sure I had all the answers I needed . His staff followed up with anything else they could. They took great care of Natasha and she came back to me happy. Very important fact. Totally give them a call if you need a Vet.

My dog was vomiting on/off for 24hrs when I called and they were very quick to work me in to treat his GI upset, even though they were busy. All the staff and drs I’ve encountered here are very helpful, compassionate, and they go above and beyond. I had concerns later that evening and they made me an early apt for the next day to ensure major was ok. They don’t push products or pricey treatments. They really do care about your pet and you and it really shows. I could not be happier to have my pets go here for care. I feel they are in very safe hands!

As always, great service and good, caring Doctors. We have been using this practice for 25+ years.
