I trust Dr. Kent, Dr. Casey, and Dr. Sears with the lives of all my pets. Everyone who works here is a spectacular person and loves animals. I'm happy to drive from Virginia Beach, and Norfolk, just to take my pets here.

They tried telling me I had to train my 6 month old puppy. Ah you think? I went here once and whoever it was had to poke an iv into my puppies leg (he had a reaction to vaccines that they administered) and it started bleeding. She looked at me like I was the biggest inconvenience of her day. Also, if you request medical forms, expect about a 3-5 business day response. That’s all I got folks!

We had our first visit with them as our new Vet and had annuals for our 2 doodle. We were so amazed. The place is so clean and beautiful. Every member of the staff was so good with both our dogs and the care was so thorough. We drove up from Elizabeth City and it was 100% worth it

DVH has always provided Winnie the best of care and compassion whenever he visited the hospital, received a checkup or kept in the kennel. Superior care by far in my 74 years of using veterinarian care.

Wonderful staff. My 2 dogs and cat, weren't too scared to being handled by the staff. Dr. Kasey answered all my questions and i never felt like she was rushing to get out of the room.

We recently had to put our beloved cat Sinatra down due to illness. The staff were highly responsive, very loving towards Sinatra during the entire process and sensitive to our needs. Although we were heartbroken to lose our beloved family friend; Dominion Veterinary Hospital took care of him in his final hours as though he were part of their family too. We are very grateful and would like to express our sincere appreciation for the care and compassion Sinatra received.

Called this vet hospital because my dog was having an emergency medical situation. I was impressed pretty quickly because the employee who answered was very kind and it didn't feel like she was trying to rush me, but on the contrary she genuinely seemed to be listening carefully to everything I was saying, and I got the feeling that she truly cared. She booked me an appointment within the hour! When I arrived it was refreshing just to see the building was newer and more professional looking than any other vet's office I've ever been to. When I walked in with my dog I was relieved to see the front office was adequately staffed and even though we were all wearing masks, I saw a smile in each employee's face. They had me checked in and brought me back to a room within 5 minutes! I really want to applaud them for that. Stellar customer service such as that is so rare these days. Also I'd like to note that the entire office was extremely clean and was sterile as it could possibly be. Once I was in the exam room I was immediately seen by an amazing vet tech who was very knowledgeable and I was experiencing the same great customer service and courtesy as I mentioned with the front desk staff. She listened to everything I had to say, didn't rush me at all and she was genuinely concerned. She went to get the doctor and she arrived within 5 minutes which is rare as the docs are so busy at veterinary hospitals that you will usually wait far longer. The doc that saw my dog and I was just so awesome. She felt my dogs stomach and was immediately able to detect that he was in extreme pain, something I had not known about before then. She started with some blood work which came back normal. She suggested X-rays as the next course of action which I agreed sounded like the best option. In just a few seconds she provided me with an estimate before the x-rays were taken. I honestly only had to wait a few minutes for the doctor to return to speak with me about the x-ray results. She was able to determine that there was severe inflammation in my dogs intestines and that in order to determine why, surgery was needed along with a pancreatitis test and intestinal biopsy. It was pretty expensive but the doctor was very upfront with me about the pricing which was really not so bad as some vet's would/could cost more. She made me comfortable to proceed with the surgery route right away, and let me know that they would call me back asap with their findings. I was pleasantly surprised to get a phone call and status update from the doc within just an hour and a half after I left the office. The surgical procedure produced us with the answer that there was no blockage which was great news. The doctor let me know that the next step in figuring out what was going on would be to await the results of the biopsy which could take up to 10 days to be received, however in our case it took less than a week. It was smart of the vet to do the biopsy because that gave us the answer to the mystery; my dog has Inflammatory Bowel Disease which is what caused the severe inflammation that showed up in the x-ray. I spoke with the next doctor on shift and he was great too. He started my dog on a steroid and suggested a special diet to help get him to start eating again. It's only day one of this treatment so my boy is still in bad shape, but I can already seeing a difference and am confident that he is on the mend! Also, the doc listened to my concerns that pain meds would run out soon. Doctors have to be extremely careful about giving out certain medications these days, but this doctor knew that my concerns were valid, and he provided refills for my dog. I am so impressed with this Veterinary hospital that I had to write this review as they deserve recognition. The entire staff is professional and seem very happy to be working there. That is a sign of great management and ownership. This place is 30 miles away from my house, but they will have me as a dedicated customer henceforth. Thank you for saving my best friends life. Sincerely, Luke and Sampson McCabe

TERRIBLE I brought in a stray cat (have 3 cats already that I have taken there) that was covered in ticks. My 10 yo daughter came with me and even told the vet and her assistant were the most of them were. After $162, applying Provecto which they told me would kill any ticks left within 24 hours, 3 alive ticks still remain. All they say is for me to bring him back in, oh, and now that the Provecto could take several days.
