I rarely write reviews but I had to make an exception this time given our amazing experience with Carolina Doggie Playland earlier this month. The bottom line is that the owner Christie and her assistant Loren are the most compasonate and caring people I have ever dealt in all the years of boarding our pets. They always made us feel like we were the most important customer they had and cared for our dog as if she was their own. The circumstances of our relationship changed from a simple overnight stay to a multi-week need. During that time our family had so many challenging events but we never had to worry about our dog because Christie and Loren had her covered and then some. I will never hesistate to do business with them again or recommend them to others. They are unique soles that I rarely have the opportunity to meet these days. We're very thankful for all you do!!

We’ve been taking this 135 lb big baby since he was a puppy and Christie and her amazing staff have taken the best care of him. They truly care and take care of your canines. Highly recommend.

Blakely is excited to go to “see his buddies” each day. That says what a good doggie daycare this place is. They take care of the dogs in their care and are super friendly!

The owner, Christy Morton, lies to just about every one of her clients so, she can protect her pride and continue to collect their money. MANY dogs at CDP never see the light of day while their owners are told they are out playing with the rest. Medications have never been documented before the start of 2021 and are often mixed up between dogs. The conditions of the building alone are enough to condemn this establishment (rust and sharp metal everywhere, infested with mice, and so much more) Please do not take your pets here!! They will not be in the best care, I swear this to you.

Owner lies to clients about dog incidents and the building itself is falling apart. Dogs play on concrete which consistently breaks their nails and makes them bleed. The whole building leaks water. Highly do not recommend as a place to work or where to send your dogs.

Unsafe, nasty conditions for your pets. The employees try their best to be as safe as possible but the owner refuses to make accommodations safe. She lies to clients about their pets in order to still make money while completely ignoring your pets and disregarding their health, safety, and happiness. The proof is in their Facebook page reviews. Please do your research and TOUR the facilities you take and possibly leave your fur babies at.

Always the best. I wouldn't trust anyone else with our dogs.

The staff is great, you can tell how loving they are to fur babies. My Luna is always excited to go to daycare and hang out with her friends.

Brought my 4 month old lab retriever here and now he’s 8 months and it’s helped socialize him so much. The staff are PHENOMENAL. If there was a 6th star I’d happily rate it such. Never had an issue with pick up or drop off and they care for your furry friend as if they were their own.

I met one of the employees one day, and I could tell that they really cared about the animals that were staying there. They're not in it for the money like some dog day cares

Our dog is challenging to say the least and hasn’t done well at other doggie daycares. He does amazingly well at Carolina Doggie Playland. The owner is amazing and i can say the same for her staff. I love the piece of mind we have leaving our boy in their hands when we leave town. Bravo, Carolina Doggie Playland!!!

My rescue dog Atlas has been going to CDP since his adoption in 2013. He wants to bolt out of the car and straight to his friends whenever he comes! They take great care of the dogs, and it's awesome to see him play through their cameras (available to watch through their website). Atlas comes home exhausted from playing all day long. Even though we've moved from Uptown, we still take Atlas to CDP weekly because we trust them with our fur baby. I absolutely recommend CDP for doggie daycare!

I work in the building next door to this doggie day care. On a daily basis, we hear the employees yelling and screaming at the dogs constantly! But today was the worst! We saw 4 employees smoking pot while outside with the dogs. I have my own dog and I am a big dog lover but this is unbelievable. I would never want the care of my dog to be jeopardized because the employees are too stoned take care of them properly. If you have a dog that goes to Carolina Doggie Playland, I would seriously consider finding an alternate day care for your dog!!!

Been taking my dog here for 6 years and I wouldn't take him anywhere else in Charlotte! They are truly "dog people" and care so much about all the dogs there. Also love the fact that they rescue dogs and adopt them out. Love these guys!

I really can't say enough good things about this place. My dog loves it and wants nothing more than to go into the doors and be with his buddies when we are pulling up to drop him off. Most of the time, he doesn't even look back at me as one of the many fantastic employees take him back to the play area. We have boarded him here numerous times as well as taking him for playdays. CDP is very close to our home but I would take him here if we lived across town. If you are looking for a place to board your dog or just to take him for a playday, don't even consider other places.

We bring our pup here every time we go away for a trip. He gets to play basically all day long, and you can watch it on their webcams. He always leaves this place happy and exhausted. Their pick up and drop off times are very reasonable, as are their prices. And there's a vet across the street they have a connection with, which gives us piece of mind in case heaven forbid something were to happen to our sweet boy while we are away.

Our dogs love it! They are always excited to get there and always come home exhausted. They seem to know every dog by name even after just the first visit.

These girls are the best! I drive in the opposite direction from work to get here instead of using somewhere that would be on my way to/from the office because I trust them completely. Almost every time I drop off or pickup my dogs they tell me how much they love my boys. They remember details about each of the dogs that come in regularly. They were great when I went through chemo with my English Bulldog and they really cater to his finicky eating. I love being able to watch them play on the webcams while I'm at work and especially love that they come home exhausted! CDP doesn't section the dogs off like other places might. They have free run of the place which keeps them happy.

My dog has stayed here for boarding many times. The staff is very professional nice! The prices are competitive and my dog always comes back worn out. I highly recommend Doggie Playland for boarding or day care.

My wife and I don't have kids — well, not human ones, anyway. But we have been blessed with 2 precious pooches — the late, great Boom Boom, a hefty English bulldog; and Billie, a bouncy Cavalier King Charles. Both came from award-winning breeders, and Billie is enjoying same pampered life that our McDouble-loving bulldog did during her 12 years, 5 months and 3 days with us. Nothing but the best — be it their cuisine or their sleeping arrangements. Which brings me to Carolina Doggie Playland. A neighbor recommended Christy & Co. to us when we moved to Charlotte from Atlanta 4 years ago, and are we ever glad for that. I knew, within 5 minutes of my first visit to the brick building at 3111 South Tryon Street, that Playland was the place — the only place — for our girls. Between holiday trips, vacations and daycare, Boom Boom, then Billie have probably spent 30 overnights and another 25 days there. Neither has ever come home with as much as a dirty paw, let alone the fleas and flus I've heard horror stories about with other places. Billie, who'll turn 9 months old next week, looks forward to her visits even more than she does her favorite brand of bone. (Another perk: in between picking her up around 6 p.m. and driving her the 3 miles it takes to get home, Billie — pooped from playing all day with other dogs her size — falls into a deep slumber, making for a peaceful rest of the night). I'm a worrywart by nature but I never, ever stress about out pet's stay at Playland. Christy ensures as much by e-mailing me cute "pupdates" — ones I didn't even ask for — anytime we're out of town for a night. She's not just a dog lover but a dog owner — and it really shows. I've never reviewed a restaurant, a hotel, a movie theater, anything. Never really felt compelled to ... until having great experience after great experience with CDP. If you need further convincing from someone who’s nothing more than a very satisfied customer, feel free to look me up on Facebook or LinkedIn and just ask. Jeff D'Alessio
