A great pet store with a lot of high quality items at great prices! I get my dogs food at a cheaper price than large chains. Staff is always friendly and helpful if you have questions.

Has a wonderful selection of food. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. You can find most any accessories for dogs and cats that you can imagine. I have been going to Phydeaux for 10 years.

What a delightful store!! I usually order my dogs food online but was excited to find they sell it here. Staff very friendly and amount of goodies for our pup was overwhelming (in a good way).

My only stop for pet supplies. Prices are similar to the bigger chain stores, but with a local impact! Great selection for small animals / pocket pets.

This is a great place that has just about anything you could need for your pet. The staff is friendly and helpful and I found exactly what I was looking for. A good mix of local products as well as nationally recognized companies as well.

The store sells a pad for dog crates from Snoozzy at Zpetmate.com. My dog chewed the item up in about 10 minutes. The store said I could talk to Snoozzy to get my refund. They do not stand by the products they sell (pricey). I would recommend any Pet Store in the area instead of Phydeaux .. you have to stand behind the products you sell.

The people who work here are always helpful and knowledgeable, and the store is clean and well-stocked. I like to support our local economy, but I also compared their prices to a couple of online stores for the items I needed, and found them comparable or lower. Win, win!

My hands down, go to! Started getting dog food, lupine leashes and collars, and treats around 5 years ago when I first adopted my 8 week old, 7 pound puppy. I have since graduated, moved to Durham, completed another degree at Duke university, and I still exclusively go to Phydeaux in Chapel hill for purchasing new products or food. The staff are exceptionally well-informed, as well as generous. Highly recommend buying a Lupine leash and collar. My dog turned out to be 60 pounds, so needless to say I went through a few size changes in collars and I still wear through a leash every year or so. Phydeaux honors the lupine, “lifetime replacements” guarantee on the spot in store every time I’ve gone. I have a second pup and naturally purchased all lupine for her (though hers last way longer as a 12 pound dog). If you start to see tears in lupine products, just bring them in to the store. They will let you pick any color of the same model (or if it’s more expensive, then you can just pay the difference), paying nothing, in exchange for your old leash or collar so they can send it to the manufacturer. At first glance, products might seem pricey. Ask an associate for advice—they will point you to the products that are sturdy and time tested, without breaking your bank. As for the dog food offered (like taste of the wild), it is certainly more pricey than a standard pets mart offering, but the ingredients are also higher quality. Admittedly, I grew up with labs who were fed the cheapest brand of food from the grocery store, so I was skeptical about buying grain free, higher protein, or any sort of “organic food” (they all look the same to me, and dogs often prefer the taste of the cheaper food). Once I saw the impact that the Phydeaux (and vet) advised diet had on my Dalmatian labs coat, I was blown away. The same has been true for my smaller breed. If you know exactly what you’re buying, and it’s offered online through Chewy, then I get a preference for buying online. That said, the hassle of trying new products by online description, return, etc ends up being more of a hassle than going to Phydeaux to just ask and browse, it ends up cheaper,a and overall more pleasant. The dog toys, specialty treats, and some of the dog beds/ bowls seem priced high, but I’m a minimalist about those things—my pups sleep on the ground or couch, play with a just a few toys for years, and are perfectly fine eating and drinking out of the same sturdy metal bowls my childhood labs and retrievers used. 100% worth checking out the store. And don’t forget, check out the Lupine products! I’m on my 8th leash between the two pups, and I only paid for the first two—that’s $5 per leash, with a chance to change colors every so often, and they are top notch. And ask the associates questions if you have them, they are stellar—if you want space, they give it, if you want quick advice they can handle that, and if you want to talk for an hour about the products in store or inquire about dog trainer recs or doggy day care or pet health, they seem to be just fine with that too :)

Very nice pet store, has excellent selection too chose from. Live in Colorado and feed my dog buffalo due to his allergies and they had what I needed. I will Definitely be in their store finding the high quality foods for my pets when I move here.

I've been going to Phydeaux for a couple years now. The staff here is super friendly, they helped me find a proper harness for my dog while I was there and are knowledgeable in everything the sell from the collars to the treats to the chews. Great local pet store! Go here instead of PetCo or Petsmart!

They not only had the boots I needed for my dog, but they sized them too. I thought I knew how to do this, but if I had ordered online, I would have gotten the wrong size.

Just started visiting a couple of months ago for my Furbaby's needs! Both locations are awesome. Excellent plethora of options, such a plus for my pup who has serious food and environmental allergies. Great Customer Service! Love that they're friendly with food samples. Love bringing my pup when I need to re-stock. Highly recommend.
