Dr. Munn has treated my/my family's pets since I was about seven years old. With that said, he's been there for the last moments for two of them and managed to make the heartbreaking choice a little easier. I never once felt as though it was anything other than the only solution left and it was only ever discussed when my loved one was going to suffer needlessly. He's always treated all of my animals with the utmost compassion and care.

My Aussie had a neurogenic eye disease. Dr. Munn was so patient with him and tried every treatment possible. It came time to make a decision about removing my dogs eye. Dr. Munn and his staff took such good care of my boy and it was the best decision for him. Dr. Munn reassured me that I had made the right decision befit was discovered that his eye would never heal. My boy has been so happy and pain free since the surgery. I can’t thank them enough.

If you want to get your pet meds through an online vendor don't go here. They won't authorize the prescription when called. West Cary will make you request the paper prescription, and then you will have to do this everytime you want it filled. Basically forcing you to buy it from them. Response to West Cary animal Hospital: I have been taking my dog to West Cary for about three years. I have been trying to get my dogs prescription filled from vendors like Chewy, since two months ago. Each time it is denied stating that you require that I pick up the physical paper prescription. When I was there two months ago I was told the by the person at the reception that the vet doesn't trust the online vendors such as Chewy. Of course you don't mind approving 1800 petmeds, their prices are the same or more than your prices. So why would I go with them? You only approve via fax 1800pet meds, you refuse to approve all other online pharmacies electronically or by fax. Forcing your customers to come to you for a paper prescription, take it home and then send it themselves. This isn't a one time thing, to do it this way I would have to go to you everytime I want a refill. My dog is on medication forever, so this would mean I have to go every other month to get a paper prescription. I wouldn't be surprised if you get some type of kick back from 1800 pet meds.

Doctors are good and think through our pets problems thoroughly. The staff know us and our pets by name after 2 visits. We will keep our whole crazy 5 pets with them for any foreseeable future.

West Cary Animal Hospital were great. They fit me in during a chaotic time which I really appreciated. They also saw all three of my cats during one appointment instead of dragging it out. My cats loved them. No hard push during checkout to buy more meds. Overall a great visit. Also, voicemail transcription is hysterical

First time there but they were able to get me in quickly and with short notice, even during these times! Staff was very friendly and took care of my pups, even though my lab didn't want to "go with the plans" . Would recommend them to everyone! Will definitely be returning for my dogs needs.

This is the only vet we have ever used since moving to Cary. We still go from Holly Springs because Dr. Munn and his team are just wonderful with all of our pets. Highly recommend!

Dr. Munn and Dr. Shipley are outstanding! I have seen Dr. Munn and used West Cary Animal Hospital for years. I took my dog here his entire lifetime and am now bringing my cat. Dr. Munn is patient and explains in detail what is going on with your animal. He truly cares about you and your animal. What a great practice!

Have gone there with 2 cats and a dog (20 years). Dr. Munn is amazing. He is compassionate with the pets AND the people.:) He knows that they are a part of the family but is also realistic about limits. Love his practice and wouldn't take my pets any place else!

Dr Munn was wonderful with my small dog, Mikey, and my elder cat, Duveh. I appreciated his ability to assess quickly what was going on with them when they needed medical attention. I would highly recommend him and his staff at the West Cary Animal Hospital... I am sorry that I cannot continue with Dr Munn because I moved away, however on a trip back I was able to get appointment and have Dr. Munn put my ailing ailibeautiful Duveh to sleep.

Went here many years. Cat got fleas refused to treat her. A true vet would take in your pet even if inconvenient. Too many vets now a day are lacking when it comes to patience and quality care. So hard to find a good cat vet.

My dog was new to this facility and received shots Sunday. Since then she’s had awful symptoms and today (Wednesday) it has worsened. Given my dogs history she is a small breed and very sensitive to changes in her body. I felt it was normal for her to have diarrhea but normally plain white rice works but not this time. Which is why I waited to speak with the vet. When she received the shots my boyfriend (dog father) was told she would be extremely sleepy. That’s the ONLY side effect we were informed of. My boyfriend called this morning to see what’s wrong. He spoke with Crystal (receptionist) and she gave a vague generic answer and was very short with him. I called this morning after he called to ask additional questions. Just to see in these cases what kind of medicine or treat that can be given to relieve the symptoms and let it run it’s course or could this be serious. Of course, as a pet owner I am concerned and anxious for my dog’s well being. A warning of this side effect was not given which is why I was so anxious to get answers. Naturally uncertainty brings questions and anxiety. All I wanted was to be assured so I can go about a solution accordingly and lessen my stress with certainty. Crystal (receptionist) was very vague with her answers to my questions, she interrupted me multiple time as I spoke to explain what was happening. Plus she made an assumption that her symptoms could not be from the shots. Then later says “I’m not the vet I’m just a receptionist, you’ll have to come in to get their professional opinion.” If you didn’t know anything why assume it wasn’t due to the shots. Saying you didn’t know should have been your first answer. Instead you made an assumption so of course that causes me to ask more questions because you preceded to act as if you knew. As she grew frustrated with my questions and concerns she hung up on me. I am a very customer service oriented person. A disgruntled person needs to be listened to without interruption and needs to be reassured that someone is there to help. It’s part of the job description to be sympathetic. In most cases, a customer is never upset with you, they are upset about the situation. Crystal’s defensive and dismissive behavior caused more anxiety to arise within me. It’s not about what you say it’s how you say it. Furthermore, you must never...EVER hang up on anyone seeking your assistance. I don’t care if you are annoyed by my questions. The likelihood of dealing with an emotional pet owner is high. You may be annoyed by this person but never should you ever be this rude to them. This vet facility needs to up the standards of their customer service. I wish Dr. Laura had been more specific about the side effects. She only mentioned one side effect and all of the effects should have been mentioned. If that’s not required then it should be incoperated in the visit or paperwork to make pet owners aware. Our entire experience here made me unsure of their professionalism and expertise. My dog is now being treated somewhere else.

The staff is friendly but not very good about explaining things. We took our puppy here and it is our first time ever having a dog. They always talk to me like I knew what they were talking about. Most of the time I misunderstood or just didn't know what they were talking about. Best advice I can give start where your client is at. The vet was good ( the male vet anyway) but I always felt lost and things just were not clearly explained.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this vet and office staff. They are kind and compassionate and have treated my pets in all states. I have come in with pets in a great mood, in anxiety, and in pain and every time they have been wonderful and taken care of my pets the way that I would. Thank you thank you thank you for loving my girls!

Dr Munn knows Greyhounds and Whippets... These sight hounds have unusual requirements for surgery, and unusual blood chemistry.

Stay away if you have a sick pet. This was my 6 year old dog Millie a few days before she had to be euthanized for kidney failure. I took her to Dr. Munn because she stopped eating. Dr. Munn later indicated pancreatitis was a possibility yet he did no diagnostic tests, no treatment. This was Monday. He said to come back Thursday for blood tests if no better. I expressed concern via email on Wed. That she was dying. Dr. Munn didnt examine her when I brought her in. Friday he emailed the labs were bad and Millie was very sick. Untreated pancreatitis can cause kidney failure. I took her to another vet the following day to have her euthanized as Dr. Munn held out little hope she could be saved. The vet was concerned and upset that treatment had not been rendered. We tried to save her over the weekend but her lab tests continued to show her kidney damage was permanent. She would not eat as long as she was in Kidney failure so she was euthanized. Dr. Munn had positive reviews which was why I took Millie there. I would not recommend Dr. Munn as I feel Millie would be alive if I had taken her elsewhere.

Friendliest staff, and Dr. Munn is the best. He is understanding in all varieties of health situations, listens to owners and fully evaluates your pet's health to give the best possible plan if there are issues. We have been seeing him since 2004! He has seen our original 3 children/dogs and brought us through treatment for them as they aged, developed ailments and helped them and us through their passing. We have we returned with mended hearts and our next set of fur babies for him and his staff to care for.

We will take our dogs to West Cary Animal Hospital for as long as we live in Cary. Dr. Munn and his staff are both pleasant, kind, and compassionate to our family and our pets, without exception. The care that they provide has been outstanding every time, even during the sad times when our dogs were in distress. Dr. Munn talks to you in a way that you can understand what is happening with your pet, and is always open for questions. He has been a superior Veterinarian and we highly recommend him to anyone and everyone looking for a Vet to treat their animals.

I have been taking my boxer to Dr. Munn since I got him in 2009. Dr. Munn and everyone at West Cary have always been very professional and take time to answer any questions throughout the years. As my pup is getting on in age, Dr. Munn had helped explain potential issues and options moving forward. Would highly recommend these folks if you have a pet you care about!

A few months ago our Great Dane had a stroke. We had no clue what was going on and were frantically trying to find a vet that could get us in quickly. Being a mile down the road from us, they told us to bring her in, we were afraid that she would have to be put down. Upon arrival they staff helped unload her from our truck, helped bring her in, and took great care of her. The doctor explained everything going on and explained what recovery would look like. We were so thankful to have found this place and plan on bringing her back there so they can see her again.
