- January 2022 - I just spent some time in the lobby and can’t tell you how much I appreciate the client support here. I was able to speak with the clinic’s manager, Melani …

I would definitely not recommend this clinic. The vet I saw labeled my cat very quickly as having a fatal cat disease and offered no treatment plan. There are medications to help so do not let your cat have a death sentence so fast without doing your research for FIP. Please seek out the Facebook groups and find the meds for your cat. There is no need to euthanize as suggested. Months later my cat is alive and well after seeking a second opinion along with proper medication that he never advised me about. The meds are not FDA approved but my cat is NOW cured. I am so glad that I did not listen to this doctor. He was terrible in delivering the diagnosis and did not run all proper tests needed for my baby cat. The doctor also took over two days to follow up on my questions on side effects my cat experienced from the antibiotics he prescribed. The clinic is also very overpriced for faulty in house labs. I would not waste your time or money here. I will not be back. I prefer a place that cares for my cats best well being.

Very pleased w/ this vet's office. They are thorough and transparent. Prices are fair. My dog is large, and not a fan of strangers or people in general but he even likes the vets here. They accomodate appointments quickly and the office is always clean. Thanks for helping me and my furry man out!

Love, love, love, love, looooveeee this animal hospital! Everyone is exceptionally kind, sincere, understanding, friendly, professional, and warm. My cat is very timid, meaning, he doesn't do well with people he doesn't know. They had no problem letting me be part of every process to keep him calm. It took some testing, but finally got to the bottom of my poor kitty's bladder issues. Love everyone here. Definitely recommend!

So I have taken every dog that I’ve ever own here. I love them! My pup was very shy and nervous and Dr. Hopper and Mel did an amazing job with her. They were so patient and went slow on everything to make her comfortable. They even got the floor to meet her at her level. It was awesome. They listen to my concerns and made sure to answer all of them.

I chose Walnut Street Animal Hospital based on the numerous 5 star reviews. I, however, have not had bad care for my puppy, but not great care either. I have been taking my puppy there since July, and am yet to have 1 conversation with a Vet. The vet techs are outstanding, but feel when you are taking a young puppy for care, the vet should at least care enough to have a face to face conversation with the owner. Yesterday, I took my puppy in for neutering. The intake was done in the waiting room with several other patients doing the same. It was difficult to hear what the tech was saying with so much going on in a small waiting room. The receptionist at check in were discombobulated. One could not get logged in. She was speaking loudly while verbalizing her frustration. There was only one receptionist wearing their mask properly, one did not even have a mask on at all. It seems they were more concerned with their Starbucks than caring for their patients professionally.

Walnut street animal hospital helped me and my fur baby in a pinch when my regular vet was closed over the weekend. Jenna could not have been more kind and helpful during an overwhelming situation. I am very thankful for hers and Dr. Kakarla’s help!

Second year with them for us, this time did not get that warm fuzzy feeling about them… might have to reconsider for next time. Also as I appreciate they’re covid precautions,I don’t appreciate the wait time.

Walnut Street came recommended by friends and so far so good! We wanted to take our new puppy to a local vet rather than a chain place like we had previously. We definitely made the right decision! Dr Hopson has been so sweet with our baby and loves on him like he's her own. The office staff has been great and responsive and Melani was a big help getting appointments sorted out for us too! We made the right choice coming here and I would recommend them 100%

They do a great job with my cats. I have been here for a year now. The issue is they have consistently made me wait 30 minutes to an hour to get my cat back or to have a doctor come speak with me. On top of that, they have tried charging me on three separate occasions for something I have already paid for. The issue has been solved, but it took me calling and complaining multiple times to get anyone to listen. Another time someone told me that they are understaffed when I was just asking a question about something unrelated to that. Again they’re good vets, but have dropped their professionalism greatly over the last year.

Walnut Street Animal Hospital went well out of their way to care for our dogs Kelso and Bailey. Kelso was a little skittish at first, but they were consistently loving and sweet with kindness and even treats to help him settle in. They were very responsive- discussing options with me for different kinds of care for a concern for Kelso I had and working with me on pricing and care options. Melanie and her staff were sooo patient with my dogs and made them feel very loved! She even gave suggestions to me to stop in for occasional treats at non appointment times- so Kelso could be more comfortable in the future! I’d definitely encourage you to check out Walnut Street for your pet needs!

Been taking my pets here since early 2020. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. The staff are clearly fellow animal lovers who love what they do. They have flexible appointment hours and a wide variety of services available including teeth cleaning. It is always a positive experience whenever the pups need to pay a visit to Walnut Street Animal Hospital.

I would like to share my dog (German Shepherd – 4 Months old) boarding experience with this location. We were planning for a week of vacation and was little late to find a boarding place for my dog. There are other locations in the area however I couldn’t get my dog in those location as some were not accepting new patients and some have having interview process and we ran out of time. So, I called my vet @ “Maynard Animal Hospital” and came to know about this location. The staff was friendly and promising, paperwork went well. I provided my feeding time (8:00am & 7pm) & quantity (3 Cups) along walk times were all documented. Now here is what happened that was not expected: 1. Not a single picture over entire week as promised were sent to us. - I called every day to check on my dog and requested a picture. Staff had a fixed response every day for me. “We are too busy today but will see if I can send a picture”. 2. My dog was not walked on time. - I had in the back of my mind that maybe they are not doing what they are telling us on the phone. It was scheduled to pick him up Friday evening however I went there in the morning (9:30am) to get him back. My dog was not walked until 9:30am. He saw me 9:30am and couldn’t hold pee and made a big puddle at the front desk. 3. My dog was not fed on time. - Then I asked her if my dog was fed in the morning as it was 9:30am already. Lady at the front desk said, “Yes! He was fed.” I brought him home. About another hour passed (now 10:30am) and he was nibbling heavily. So, I called again and asked is he was fed. Lady answering the phone confirmed that he was NOT fed that morning. 4. Dog’s hygiene. - I gave my dog a nice bath the day I took him in for boarding. Within a week, when I got him back, he was smelling very bad. Brought him back gave him bath and saw brownish dirty water. Poor guy must have gone pee in his cage because no one was probably there to walk him in timely fashion. He is a large dog and can hold for 10-12 hours. Not even 1 recordable accident at home where he went in his cage. Lastly, as I was checking out, they lady at the front said, “Your dog got an amazing personality, he is so cute and all. I took pictures of him and shared with my Vet friends”. But the entire staff didn’t have time to send pictures of my dog for the entire week. My honest opinion - Staff tries hard buttering up their clients. I DON’T recommend this place for boarding your dog. I know this is the long review but if I can protect just 1 more dog going through the same, it will be all worth it.

I don’t know where to start. I move here from Miami looking for something that doesn’t exist with this animal hospital! I just wanted a reliable and consistent vet and staff that would take care of my animals. My husband made and agreement with Dr. Kay (owner of all 3 locations Maynard Animal Hospital and Capital Blvd Animal Hospital and coming soon the new location in Apex), he would give us a discount because we brought so many animals. I wish I would have just been charged regular price, because with the discount also came terrible service from all the vets with the exception of Dr. M and Saladino which are great. Be ware these vets that work there haven’t done the continuing education and can’t even provide health certificates . We had issue with every single invoice , animals were always prescribed clavamox without ever really knowing the cause of the problem. The office manager Melanie is a joke- extremely disrespectful and inconsiderate. Also please don’t ever leave your credit card on file, unless you want surprises. Beware!!!!

Been cominng here since September 2020. They have always treated my dog with love and care so now that we got a new puppy this was the first place I brought him. The wellness plans hold extremely great value for taking care of our pets. I will specifically thank Melanie who took the new puppy in today and showed him love so I know he won't be scared of the vet when he gets older. The doctors and all the staff here will have my business for a long time.

I brought my dog in for an emergency visit on a Saturday morning and they were amazing. They saw me quickly, kept me appraised of the situation, talked with me every step fo the way and were friendly and helpful. The followup calls were very nice as well. I definitely recommend them

I brought my miniature poodle Marshmellow here for an emergency and Dr K and staff were wonderful so I switched to this wonderful Establishment. Marshmellow was in today for a cleaning and was there all day. The staff Dr K, McKenna & Brittany were all who I interacted with today and they were so loving and wonderful to my fur baby. I am usually skeptical of new Drs offices for my boy but they have been fabulous. Their prices are better than anyone around and the care they give to their patients is totally genuine. We are happy we switched to this practice. You won't be sorry if you're looking for an affordable and loving Vet. Pay them a visit. You will not be sorry. Thanks for taking such good care of my boy and making me feel comfortable and confident with you all. See you soon!! 9/19/21- We still love you guys!! I love how much you all love Marshmellow. You give him such wonderful care. Ian so glad I switched to you guys.

I rescued my kitten this summer after my friend found her in her backyard. I was looking for the best place to bring her for her first check up and I'm so glad it was here. Joseph was so professional and put me and my kitten at ease. He was able to explain everything that was happening and next steps for vaccinations. I've been so worried about my kitten and her health but I'm glad she was in great hands!

My puppy Maple had a attack accident when she was about 14 weeks old and the other dog broke her jaw. Walnut st animal hospital took her immediately and got us the help we needed right away. Maple looks just as great as she did before the accident. Anytime we have an issues with Maple we have no problems getting in and they make sure to give her the best treatment she needs. We love this vet and so does Maple! She is always really excited surprisingly.

Walnut street animal hospital is the only place I will take my fur babies. They are reliable, and do a thorough check. I have a 2yr old Australian Shepard and a 1yr old blue heeler who before hated going to the animal hospital until I switched them to Walnut Street the staff was wonderful at helping my fur babies settle in. The manager Melani is such a sweetheart I always enjoy getting to speak with her, she has given me some great advice for my fur babies that have worked tremendous, you can definitely tell her love and knowledge for her patients I know they will always be in good hands.

EDIT: Dr. Amelio has been amazing. Today she made me feel heard and addressed all my concerns after she shared some findings about my pup. She was very thorough and I am so glad WSAH has added her to their team. Original post: When I first started going to this vet, I recommended it to all my friends and neighbors but the last few visits I’ve had have not been the same experience. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt because of COVID adjustments, but today’s drop off appointment may be my last. I brought my dog in in pain at 8, with the understanding the vet wouldn’t be in until 9. The receptionist set my appointment for 9. Now it’s 10:35 and received no call. When I called to check they said the vet hadn’t had a chance to see him and didn’t offer any time frame or consultation that they’d been checking on him. After I asked for a time frame, she went to check and said the vet would get to him in the next 15 minutes. If it was just an annual exam I wouldn’t be making a fuss about it, but because I brought him in and told them he was in pain...it seems negligent to leave him crated with not so much as a general check. UPDATE: I did get a call from Walnut Street about the review sharing that the situation was not handled appropriately so I really did appreciate them reaching out to make it right. I will leave my review up until I have a chance to go back and see if there truly has been a change in the reception staff's approach to care.

Finding a qualified vet for a pet rat in an emergency at night when in another city is really tough. Dr Kaitlin at Walnut Street and at Maynard emergency Vet was fantastic for both visits, and saw our pet rat twice in two days with no notice and did a lovely job, not only in ruling out what was wrong but also in being compassionate and showing empathy to us. Her techs obviously enjoy working with her too. I liked the pricing was fair and reasonable upfront. Five stars for vets that made us feel at ease as soon as we got there. The receptionist staff were lovely as well.

We brought Sky Blue to Walnut Street animal hospital for his check up for Dog Warriors. Melani was awesome. She gave us a detailed report and went above and beyond with her explanations. You can tell how much she loves animals and really set Blue at ease.

Went last year to this place and I had an appt at 12. I called and they said it would be just a sec. I waited 30 MINUTES so I called back and they forgot about me and said just a few more minutes. I waited another 15 minutes and finally took my animals to the door and waved my arms to finally get someone to come out of their cave. Then I waited OVER AN HOUR AND A HALF just for them to tell me they couldn't do what needed to be done with my cat. Absolutely awful service.

I met a total of 4 people at this place and only one stood out: Joseph! My 7 month old puppy Cherokee was having some bad reactions after her spay and I brought her back in to see them. It is a common issue so it wasn’t anything to do with the vet, but Joseph showed how much he cared about Cherokee letting her lick him and he was petting her a lot! Very sweet person and I would come back because of him!

Our puppy had his first appointment and it all went great. We were welcomed in but for some odd reason they would only let the pet in after the first appointment. There was still COVID during his fist appointment and we were let in but not after that.

I am very grateful to Dr Amelio, Cary location, for the care and kindness she showed toward my kitty, Eloise, in her final 24 hours. Eloise was a difficult case, but Dr Amelio took time to explain all my options. Dr Amelio never made me feel rushed. She called me at home the morning Eloise died to check on us both. When Eloise suffered a fatal seizure and I had to rush her into the practice, I was grateful for the staff, and especially for Dr. Emilio. After Eloise passed away, they let me hold her for as long as I wanted to to say goodbye. Melanie was very kind and compassionate also, when it came to settling my account. Eloise’s illness was very sudden. And although I lost her, I will always be grateful to Dr. Amelio and everyone at Walnut Street.
