We have been upbringing our pets here since 1983. We really like the techs and the doctors. They have always been so good with our dogs and cats.

Very reasonable. May charge you extra; but, worth it for quality care imo.

Raven did an amazing job trimming my (sometimes aggressive) Jack Russell's nails!

Dr. Santilli is wonderful. The staff is friendly. The techs who work with the animals are great. They give you updates and make you feel they really care about your pet as you do.

Excellent and quick service. We are new to the area and one of our cats had an urgent medical issue and Mayfair got us in right away. Curbside service was excellent and communication was prompt. Quick check in; the doctor called to explain everything thoroughly and provide options/recommendations. Very pleased! Thank you!

Even through the new procedures brought on by Covid, a thorough exam and communication with the vet were done with ease. Above all, care for the animals was the number one priority.

took my dog there for a regular checkup and some shots. asked the doc to look at her left hind leg because she's been favoring it. everything went fine afterwards he said in order to examine her we needed to sedate her and take x-rays of it I said ok. I then scheduled to bring her back for a bath cause they do all around care, but before we came back for it. my dog started limping heavily, so I called the doc and ask them to findout what was wrong with her. took her there at 9am hours later I get a call telling me my dogs ready to get picked up, then proceeds to tell me she needs to be sedated and take x-rays of it figure out what's wrong. well no kidding, you said that last time. we already went through that step. I didn't bring her back and spend more money to hear the same thing. I brought her to find out what was wrong. give me a call asking if you have permission to sedate her and do xrays. I ask how much, you tell me, I make a decision probably yes and you tell me what's wrong. which is what I called you for not to hear you repeat yourself.

I went to Mayfair many years ago and while Dr. Santilli is an outstanding veterinarian with a calm and reassuring bedside manner and Dr. Smith also is wonderful. Dr. Foster is aggressive, unprofessional, and so defensive that she will cost the life of your pet with her inability to receive information that doesn''t fit into her very narrow clinical box. I remember now why I stopped going to Mayfair when she wouldn't help me with an alternative treatment for my very difficult to medicate cat Peanut. This time she almost killed her brother. Despite myself not being rude to her about the situation and only informing her that I had taken him to his primary vet because he became so inactive on the pain meds prescribed that he needed emergency fluids (now twice) and that the other vet administered an antibiotic with my approval for his UTI she aggressively informed me that if I was going to go to other vets she no longer wanted us to come to the clinic. The absolute arrogance that going to get help for my animals after SHE said oh its normal just keep him drugged for potentially weeks was outrageous enough. A proper professional would have said, goodness so glad you got help and while I may not agree with what they concluded or treated with you should always do what you think is right. Perhaps we can collaborate to provide the best care for you pet. Not her. Don't question her or she will be rude, demeaning, condescending and aggressive on top of telling you to never come back. The hallmarks of a bad doctor.

Plenty of other Vets in the area! We were not long with Mayfair, but, long enough! Brought our dog in for an ear infection, sent him home with medication, found out they charged me double for the medicine than what most will charge. Tried ordering heartworm meds through Chewy, to save a few $$'s, Mayfair denied the order! When inquired, they would not give a justifiable answer? Essentially, again, they want to overcharge. I came to them for the doctors, not the pharmacy! Much like we as humans have a choice where we go to get our medications....whether it be CVS, Walgreens, Costco, etc.....we should have that same choice regarding our pets! I was ordering a reliable and effective heartworm medication for my dog from another source, rather than ordering from Mayfair. As such, Mayfair apparently has an issue with that and did not want me to go to another outlet. Who are they to tell me where I buy my pets meds? Don't need the BS! Now looking for a new Vet in the area.

We've been going to Mayfair for almost 10 years for our dogs and cats. We board them there as well when we go out of town, and Raven, the groomer, is amazing. I had to put my 16 year old cat to sleep a few weeks ago, and they were great and very compassionate throughout the process.

I have been going here for 3 and a half years. We can't say enough about Dr. Forster. I know my bird is in good hands with her.

My family has been going to Mayfair for almost 30 years, through 5 (now 6) dogs and 3 cats. Dr. Bristol and Dr. Smith are wonderful! Dr. Smith is a bit more forward, but she knows what she’s doing and is never afraid to tell you how it is, which I admire. Dr. Bristol is very kind, polished, and professional. She is so knowledgeable and explains everything she does in great detail. She’ll answer any question you have for her and has been very helpful with our aussie since she has had a lot of aussies herself. Recently our pup was bit by a snake on a morning walk in the woods but we couldn’t see any puncture wounds so we thought it was a broken foot or something. Dr. Smith looked at it for like 2 seconds and she knew it was a copperhead bite and they were able to treat it quickly and minimize the chance of necrosis. I honestly didn’t believe her at first but she pressed me and insisted, which was a lifesaver in this case. He was in a lot of pain but they kept him all day and he was much more comfortable there than he would have been at home. All in all his recovery from the bite was super fast because my boyfriend and I got to the animal hospital fast and Dr. Smith recommended laser treatments for our pup to help his wound heal faster. His foot was the size of a golf club (he was a puppy too) but he was back to doing zoomies within 2 days. Very impressive in my opinion. I don’t see myself ever switching veterinarians. 30 years and no bad experiences. They even remember our pets who’ve passed away years ago, they send cards when a pet passes away, and lay out every option for treatment for your pets when they’re sick. You’ll be hard pressed to find somewhere better.

Dr. Foster has been terrific to our two dogs. Particularly, she did a tremendous job helping us with our golden doodle’s ear infection by referring us to a specialist. We had seen half a dozen veterinarians that tried to treat it themselves, and this led to a twelve month long infection, plus a potential surgery. Dr Foster’s knowledge of the infection was outstanding, but we were more impressed with her awareness of what to do when conventional care doesn’t cut it. I highly recommend Dr Foster!

We have been with Mayfair for 3 years now. They have treated us now from annual exams to surgeries. Dr. Smith and Dr. Bristol have both been great. They have guided us through cancer with sound and honest advice. We had the option to be referred out or stay within the practice. I am really happy with our decision to stay in house to receive our care. I have felt reassured in my decision and my pups health and happiness this past month as we have navigated cancer removal. I don't know if the doctors see these reviews. but if so Marty and our family thank you for your help and care!

Been going here for 12 years, always had a great experience. They do what is best for your pet and don’t try to do things that are not needed. Always feels great to be able to say do what you think is best and know they are going to do right by you and your pet.

Took our Blue Tick Coon Hound in for a regular check-up and he needed several vaccines. The staff was great with him (petting him, belly rubs, and treats), so that he felt comfortable throughout the visit. After being seen, they followed up with phone calls to make sure he was doing ok. Thanks RVH!

My 1 and a year 1/2 year old Golden Retriever puppy was diagnosed with Luxating Patella in both hind knees! I was told by Dr. Lee at VHS to put him down that there was nothing that could be done for him! Dr. John Santilli was recommended to me by a dear friend! He was a God Send! Chance just had his 2nd SUCCESSFUL knee surgery! Dr. Santilli gave my puppy a second chance at being a normal puppy! If it wasn't for him and the staff at Mayfair Animal Hospital, I wouldn't be able to give my puppy a normal puppy life! I am forever in debt to the entire staff! I wish I could give them more than 5 ⭐!!! They deserve so much more!!

I live in Raleigh but Mayfair was recommended to me by two people, when my Persian developed an acute case of Flea Allergy Dermatitis and my current vet was not solving the problem. I've been extremely pleased with the vets and staff since 1981, and wouldn't consider anyone else. The care and compassion is unmatched, as I have said "Goodbye" to several pets over the years. When a difficult decision must be made I often ask, "What would you do if it were your pet?" I want the best care possible for my companions and I get it from Mayfair. Any medical practice can experience emergencies which push back appointments upon occasion, so I've learned to bring reading material. I prefer quality over speed, if that is the choice, in all areas of my life. I love you, Mayfair.

The vets and assistants at Mayfair are very caring and very competent. They are responsive when I need an appointment for Miss Sophie. They take time to discuss options when important decisions need to be made.

Our first visit here with our dog was for an urgent issue on New Year's Eve. He needed a procedure under anesthesia after an injury. The staff and doctor, from the time they first picked up the phone, to the exam, the procedure, and phone call after to check on our dog, showed that they care. They were very accommodating when working us in. The front desk staff and technicians were all wonderfully kind and efficient. It's clear that they love their jobs! Dr. Foster had a great manner with me and our dog, and she took the time to explain and involve me in the decision making. We'll certainly bring our pets - all 3 - here for their routine care.
