DO NOT COME HERE! This is the worst vet in NC. Your pet will NOT receive proper care here. The only thing they care about is money.

Enough said by others. Driven by money, not care. Do not bring your pet here.

After much deliberation we went with Dr. Lindsey Bullen to find vet nutrition for both our pups. The wait time was four months to even get an appointment. We spent thousands of dollars to do all the preliminary blood work and send over …

They had horrible reviews when named VSH. When a clinic has over 50 1 star reviews (like BluePearl does) that is a RED FLAG. Most VSH reviews said something like this: brought our pet in for xx emergency. VSH kept the pet for xx # of nights to "monitor" the pet (which consisted of leaving it in a kennel) racking up a bill of thousands of dollars. Then either their pet died or they finally took their pet elsewhere where tests were run and treatment received, often just in time to save the pet's life. This was our experience as well. We will never bring a pet here again and deeply regret that we did not read the reviews before we went there. Please believe the 1 star reviews. Those are real people whose pets suffered like ours did.

Can’t thank all the staff and surgeon at blue pearl enough. Nightmare Holiday, traveled 12hrs north to visit family and our sweet 5mth old pup got ill the instant we got there. 2 ER visits there and when they “didn’t like what they were seeing” on X-ray, we hauled butt back here for surgery. It was worse than initially thought and after a pretty major surgery he is doing awesome. They were very attentive, great communication and updating and above all looked after our fuzzy child 24/7. Critical care staff was on point. I am certain if we stayed up where we were he would not have survived….they had no definitive answers there and wanted to do more studies that would have prolonged action for more than a day. Got here and radiologist looked at X-rays from NY and said he needed to go straight to surgery….Thank you so much for saving my boy! Best Xmas present ever is having him home w us again.

This Hospital is all about the money money money! First, 12/23 I was at work and the clinician called and asked if I can take my pup to another hospital for her surgery. I said, yes! I can get off work now.I then head that way but upon arrival, the clinician told me my pup is not ready and she would have stay for another night at their hospital. The clinician wasted my time and I lost hours at work! Then next day 12/24, the clinician called me and gave me WRONG information! She said my pup is ready for surgery and her platelets reading is ok. So I took her to the State vet hospital but upon their initial checked up, she is not ready for the surgery. I believed I was misinformed and they just want to collect the $3,600. Be careful with this Hospital!!!

I cannot express enough gratitude for the care my dear 13.5-year-old Shelby (GSP) received before she crossed the rainbow bridge this weekend. Keri, Jean, and Dr. Piner were so patient with me, and the support they provided while I was there by myself during a difficult experience was extraordinary. I had been there once before (a year ago) because Shelby found the hidden stuffies and needed emergency attention to get those squeakers out of her belly. The team was great then, too.

How do you turn away a tiny puppy who was injured & critical because he doesn’t have a referral? Aren’t you an emergency hospital n critical patients should be seen immediately. Who has time for a referral during an emergency? You should be ashamed

I understand COVID precautions make things difficult, but they were pretty content to let a dog bleed out in my car today while I sat there on hold. It took her nearly falling over for them to take me somewhat seriously, and that's when they had someone come out to the parking lot to turn me away in person. They didn't even look at her one (1) puncture wound that needed debriding and cleaning. Luckily, we got care elsewhere and the dog is fine, but I will NEVER be using this facility again.

Nightmare. Very, very bad. They need to be investigated for patient abandonment -- leaving a dog scheduled for euthanasia alone in a room while the owner is yelling for assistance and receiving none until the patient stopped breathing. They are cruel, rude. The greater eyes of the medical community are looking and observing, and that greater community is my family. I am telling them every detail. If all I can do now is defend my dog's honor by warning others about this unprofessional place, it is what is required. If all you can remember is to Not come here, do that. Choose a different place. I called this 24 hour facility at 0735, arrived at 0801. The vet Sarah Leigh called me in my car at 0954. At 11:11, I called in after many calls of being placed on hold to no avail, and asked could I see my Beau and when would euthanasia begin? I was told he would be moved to the euthanasia room. Beau died just before 1 p.m. This clinic lacks the ability to prioritize. The entire reason I called at the crack of dawn was to have Beau euthanized. This should have created a sense of urgency there. It did not. My Beau died painfully and horribly while under the care of this demonic institution. One cannot depend on this hospital or its staff. Beau was scheduled for euthanasia on a Tuesday morning, Feb.2nd, 2021. I waited with Beau in the car at least an hour. After he was taken inside I waited longer. When I was allowed in I was taken to an empty room. I waited longer. When Beau was wheeled in on a cart he was sleeping. They left me alone in a room with a buzzer button. I had been waiting for hours in the car and later in a room combined. Beau's respiratory rate began to climb severely while we ( as in myself and dog, no one else) were in a room. It was at 22 when we were in the car. I hit the buzzer several times while in the euthanasia room along with Beau. No one came. I got around the cart to try to comfort him as he was moving violently, shaking in his gasping, mucus flying into the air and bubbling up from his chest into his mouth. He was coming off the cart. I had to get the door open managing the dog at the same time. I yelled for help. No one came. I continued yelling for help and was ignored. He stopped breathing. I could not feel a heart beat. The doctor others identified as Dr. Leigh walked in calmly after I had been in there alone and without help or assistance. I asked repeatedly why they would not arrive after I had been buzzing the button, yelling, hitting the door, pleading. She would not answer. She listened to his chest and said. "There is a very, very faint heart beat." She asked if I wanted to euthanize, (Take in mind I had already signed the papers and told the front desk at 0735 this was the day's plan. Take in mind by then the dog had stopped breathing and had not been breathing for a very long time.) and then she said, "We will now put Beau out of his misery." I replied that he was dead. I grew up in medical household and live in a medical household, and find in contrast this disjointed circus of a group they call a staff is disgraceful. They are pretentious, rude, unprofessional, dangerous and a public menace. Staff there looked into the eyes of others who have medical knowledge they are not aware of and told such whopper tales. My prayer today is that no one else be emotionally saddled with reckless disregard and no additional animals find themselves at this pretentious, disorganized display of hades abusing public trust under the guise of medical care. I will do my best to protect others from this place. I do not want any animal to find itself at this place, or for any pet owner to place his or her trust at BluePearl Pet Hospital. Hard to explain the multiple feelings we had with our Aussie’s experience at Blue Pearl! Believe her surgery went well but will go back to our vet for her stitches to be checked. They seemed very into money, money, money! Cost was two and half times more than other vets! When they called, the explanations were like they were canned and the dogs name inserted! They have never called to see how our Aussie is doing BUT our regular vet did even though they did not do the procedure! Owned by Mars Corp! Maybe explains the high fees!

I called about my cat and asked if they felt she needed to be brought in for an abscess that came up suddenly. They told us yes. So, we drove 40 min to them. When we were only 10 minutes away we called to let them know we were almost there and the lady on the phone told my daughter they couldn’t see her and that she “was pretty sure she told us on the phone they were at capacity”. I am 100% positive she did not, as I would not have driven that far for her to not be seen. I am the one who spoke to the woman, and nothing was said about capacity.

I brought my dog to Blue Pearl on a Saturday morning for knee pain. I only brought her there because my regular vet was not open on the weekend. She wasn’t eating, drinking, and couldn’t walk. They asked me to wait in parking lot for hours. They had multiple people call asking me the same questions (clearly no effective communication on their end). They called in the evening and asked me to pick up my lame dog and bring her back the next morning “when the orthopedist would be there.” I asked for the dog to stay overnight as she’s a 125 lb dog and I cannot lift her myself!! She spent the night where she was ignored until the next late afternoon when they called again asking the same questions??? I finally picked her up and brought her home With the diagnosis of a “right knee ACL tear”. The next day was Monday so I was able to bring her to my regular vet. She was immediately diagnosed with PANCREATITIS! I would not recommend BluePearl to anyone based on my most recent visit. From the office staff to the nurses to the clinicians it is an absolute joke over there.

Don't go to Blue Pearl Cary because you'll be a "low priority" and won't get called back. After putting my cat through a lot of stress and spending $1,000 I couldn't even get a phone call for almost two weeks. My cat was referred to an internal specialist by my vet in July, 2021. I took her to Blue Pearl Cary and with the exception of x-rays they did the exact same tests that were just completed by my normal vet. That was a thousand dollars. We learned nothing new but they confirmed she was FIV+ (which I knew about for 15+ years). But that was okay. I would have spent any amount on her. We had a tentative game plan of putting her on meds and her levels would be rechecked and then she'd be re-evaluated with a new game plan. My normal vet did the bloodwork and sent her results to Blue Pearl on July 30. I called on Aug 4th and the receptionist told me they had the results and transferred me. Another person then called me back and said they didn't have the results and had just requested them. They would call me back. This was a Wednesday. On Thursday afternoon I called them back and the receptionist told me again they got the results on the 30th (I thought they didn't have them?) and even he didn't know why I was not contacted. Then I was told I must be "low priority" and if I didn't get a call Friday then try back Monday. I shouldn't have to chase down results. They didn't bother calling me back until Tuesday, August 10th. They had my results for almost 2 weeks before they called me back. In the meantime, I had to put my cat down on August 6 for undetected cancer. But hey, I guess that was low priority. BTW I already knew her lab results because my normal vet had the decency to call me the day they received them. Blue Pearl may be a good emergency vet but not for specialists. I'm not sure if it's the vets or the administration. I've been to Blue Pearl off Capital Blvd for emergency reasons several times and they were good. My vet even called the director regarding my cat and didn't get a call back.

I wanted to like this place. My sister’s dog had 2 knee surgeries here when they were known as VSH and although the second surgery could have gone a bit better (her dog ended up with MRSA infection), she still recommended this place. My dog has been sick for the last week- this past weekend she was hospitalized from Fri- Sun morning at an emergency vet in Durham that was recommended by my vet. Sun night she seemed okay, but just kept getting worse again on Monday. I called around to numerous emergency vets in the area- I didn’t want to bring her back to the Durham vet because I live in apex and I didn’t think they did that great of a job. Almost all the places I called were at capacity and unable to take in my dog. I finally call Blue Pearl and asked about capacity- whoever answered told me to hold on while they check and after they came back to the line said it would be okay to bring her there and to have the Durham emergency vet call them with the weekends events to expedite triage. I called the Durham vet and asked them to please call blue pearl to discuss what happened with my pet over the weekend. They said they would send all the information over. I then called my vet and asked her to call blue pearl with what happened that weekend. As I arrived, my vet was on hold waiting to speak to a doctor at blue pearl. I was in the parking lot on hold with them as well. They wouldn’t even let my vet connect with a doctor there and said they were at capacity and that MY VET should tell me that. Obviously I was upset- I called ahead and asked about capacity was told to come then all of a sudden they are at capacity and are trying to make my vet tell me this instead of them. They blamed my vet the entire time saying she should have told me they were at capacity. I am disgusted by the behavior of this establishment. Luckily my vet called NC State and was able to get us in there. Do not go to Blue Pearl.

We can not thank Dr. Wang and the team for their absolute kindness towards our Linus. Dr. Wang made sure when he went home there was no test left undone. We were asked to remain in our car during his visit. Due to the delta variant which was hard but we understood. Thank you for the many calls during our wait, the updates and loving our Linus. He is back to normal. Whether it was a snake bite or something else we appreciate you all for making our baby better. If your baby is hurt, sick or something else and its after hours. Blue pearl is the very best.

My dog, Buddy, went into the vet ER here and technicians and the doctor showed such compassionate care for my 12 year old rescue and i couldn't be more appreciative. Not only did they love on my Buddy and take care of him and his health needs, they were all around kind people from start to finish. I could not say anything bad about this place...because there is nothing bad to say at all. They saw Buddy immediately and triaged him immediately, did the assessments, administered care, and made him comfortable again. I am so grateful for you all for taking care of my Mr. Buddy - he is my sweet boy and i love him so much. Thank you all. Ps Dr. Bailey says hi from BayLeaf Animal Hospital. ????

It’s a pet hospital. They’re super busy and still operating under covid precautions. Everything seemed to take longer than necessary. Their prices seem high, but I guess if you’re in an emergency you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. Doctor was thorough in explaining the issue and quoting prices.
