The team is great there. I was able to schedule quickly as a new client, and they had a tech who was able to trim my (mean) hamster’s nails in minutes! The techs were really friendly and clearly loved what they did. Price for the service was very reasonable.

Fine service but took 4 hours for a check-up visit, with an appointment. The service and quality were fine but the time is ridiculous.

Not very happy, after having 0930 appointment, pet had still not received treatment as of 330 p.m. Then was told she would need sedation, questioning if it was truly given, considering the alertness of the dog. Dog was NOT fully treated, injury sites had not been completely cleaned ( which could have mostly been done with warm water during the time waiting for Vet) Nearly freaked out when Vet. TECHs were called NURSES ( I AM A NURSE) Vet sent home meds and wants follow up visit Friday AFTER my son gives the dog and injectable anesthesia. REALLY, then WHAT did I pay almost 400 dollars for?? Took my dog to emergency Vet at 2 a.m. and got more, and better service for 100 dollars more. Have advised my son to switch to my Vet. Not only is she local but she treats her patients like they are her own cuddle fur babies.

Cannot tell you how many bad experiences I’ve had at this particular banfield with all three of my dogs. From an an infection post neuter to my dogs having to stay in a kennel for 5+ hours for a drop off exam just for vaccines to my dog coming home with popped blood vessels in his eye. Don’t ever expect them to pick up half of the time you call. My most recent experience i brought him in later in the day )knowing that they wait forever to call you to pick up) for all of his vaccines to be updated and they didn’t even do them all and didn’t tell me what so ever i had to call three times for someone to pick up just to find out they decided it was best for him not to get it and not to tell me even at pick up time. Highly DO NOT RECOMMEND

Five star to the NEW Manager Rita, thank you for speaking with me and reassuring me that my fur baby will be treated kindly and well taking care of at anytime she may need to visit. Rita’s way of communicating with her customers is very professional and welcoming and I greatly appreciate her time. God bless her ????

Mikey was in a shelter for a year and a half and was pretty excited. Staff was very patient and understanding, he was handled with care. Very satisfying visit. Recommended.

My dog is on wellness plan with Banfield. I love the convenience and what they offer for my doggy. In my opinion well worth it.

They take good care of my dogs. This last time I had to wait in my car 15 minutes in the heat with 2 dogs until the nurse said we could go in so I wasn’t wild about that.

Edit: Banfield has agreed to allow me to see other doctors so I have edited my review to 3 stars but am leaving the original so that people can see the issues I have had. Original: I have had a puppy plan with Banfield for over a year and have stuck with it because it seemed like a "good value" but the truth is, you get what you pay for. At Banfield Apex you have the luxury of being greeted by a front desk staff who often don't appear to care about your pet or their jobs only to be followed by a meeting with doctors who don't seem to know what they're doing. Not sure what the adult dog plan is supposed to cover exactly because I ended up paying upwards of $100 for my dog's ear infection testing and heart worm medication at our last visit. Not to mention at our last visit I was told I would be able to pick her up in 2-4 hours. They would call me when she was ready. At the 4.5 hour mark I called as I had not been contacted yet only to find out the doctor was not even there at that point. I understand things happen, but I expect a call if my dog is going to be held in a cage for longer than originally promised. They communicated nothing with me. Finally, I brought up concerns about my dogs stomach they said they looked into it and since she got home 3 days ago she has had horrible diarrhea. This is the second time Dr. Snyder specifically told me nothing was wrong with my dog only for the issue to get contiuously worse follwoing the visit (The first time she told me my dog didn't have mites TWICE and we had another doctor tell us it should have been diagnosed a long time before). Of course there was no time to address this on Friday as they held my dog for an asinine amount of time so I am still waiting for a reply on what will happen with that. Do not open a plan with Banfield and take your pet anywhere else if you can reasonably afford it.

Banfield has been very helpful with my dog Leo. He has been on and off sick, weather it was a bacterial infection, a simple check-in, a cancer scare, the vets and helpers(sorry don't know the proper term), were very helpful and caring. Leo has anxiety and during normal circumstances we would go in to a room together but obviously during this time its not possible. The employees here understand his anxiety and try to make him as comfortable as possible and get him out as fast as they can to reduce his stress. Definitely recommend them

A couple of months ago I registered my canines. I have a new puppy and a senior. The service wasn't bad. They relatively gave me the info needed. I also signed up for their plan. Not so bad at this point. However, I am a person who is very diligent about my pets. I handed the person at the front desk my puppy's shot record, and upon exit requested it back. To my great disappointment they had lost her shot record card. Please imagine my upset. I get it things like this are mediocre to others, to me it was an important component of my puppy's life. I think the part that upset me was the nonchalant well we can print you what's in our system. ???????????? Your computer generated information is NOT my puppy's SHOT RECORD CARD!!! Yes, I am still a bit upset.

We have been bringing our dogs to this Banfield for over 2 years. We have only really connected with one vet from there which was Dr. Snyder. She is amazing! Not pushy and is laid back. Most of the staff are nice as well. My husband thinks it’s a scam haha. I just enjoy the security of being able to bring our pets in at any time and not be charged a crazy amount. But I don’t know, taking what we pay monthly around $40 each pet. We probably wouldn’t spend that much in a year if we didn’t have a monthly payment and just paid the Norma like $56 at a vet. My one definite HUGE NEGATIVE is that if your pet dies or you no longer have it, you are locked into a contract and will have to finish out the payments no matter what.

This is a review for Dr. Holtz: I cannot say enough good things about veterinarian Dr. Holtz. I have been a Banfield patient for about 7 years in 3 different cities (Apex, Wilmington, and Sanford) This is the first time I have really REALLY liked my pets veterinarian. I believe the Apex location has 4 vets, and I have had them all. Dr. Holtz is hands down my favorite, and I request him every time I can. I like that when I come in for any appointment Dr. Holtz always sits down and talks with me before he ever starts his examination. In the past previous veterinarians have come into the room and immediately begun the physical exam. Attempting to talk with me about my concerns at the same time they are preforming the physical exam. I remember one time a woman was talking with me at the same time she was listening to my dog with the stethoscope. In that scenario, I did not feel confident that my dog or I were being fully heard. Dr. Holtz does not rush his exams. He takes his time to hear my concerns and then preforms a thorough exam. Dr. Holtz is very caring and professional and takes his time with explanations and treatment options. I also appreciate how he loves on my dogs when I bring them in. Dr. Holtz always gives my dogs plenty of TLC.
