Unfortunately we put our dog down last night in the middle of the night. The emergency hospital was caring, quick in response, kind , knowledgeable and incredibly understanding. They gave him pain med and listened to our needs and …

OMG..Run run run. Fascinating this place is still operating. All reviews I have read are soooo true. My story too long to explain but after 1 surgery and poor prognosis unless I proceeded with another surgery, I took matters into my own hands and my cat is healed and doing very well. I am quite confident many services they billed and claimed to have done were actually never done. Rarely return phone calls after surgery was completed and after he was discharged for a second time but I will not get into that. They got their money that is all that matters. I guess I have to give 1 star to be fair there were some assistants and aides that actually seemed to care for the animals.

just before christmas my 2-1/2 yr old dog was found to have mas on kidney from my vet in mattituck. they arranged me an appt the next day and staff was able to see and operate on him removing a grapefruit sized mass on his kidney. the rapid efforts of staff, from consult to post surgery was incredible. every question was asked, answered, and was constantly updated. could not have asked for better team under circumstances

I will never bring my dog back to them again. The Internal Medicine Specialist was beyond rude, obnoxious, demeaning, condescending, unprofessional and the most uncaring doctor I have ever spoken to. My dog has many underlying diseases which he knew about because I brought my dog there in August to advise me on his diabetes. He sounded thoroughly annoyed that I was there and actually said to me that you're 12 year old dog has many issues and what do you expect me to do for you in a half an hour??? I left there 3 hours later with not one bit of helpful information and in tears!!! This was after calling him for one week straight and never receiving a phone call back. I was beyond upset and disappointed with my experience there & how unprofessional and rude a doctor could be. I never had this experience at LIVS and I would highly recommend anyone living in Suffolk County to take the ride over there if needed. I would have given this facility a zero but this page wouldn't let me!

Atrocious. We will never be back to this clinic, and never refer to this clinic. We understand you are short staffed and stressed, even if that means us waiting in the car for 8 hours to hear anything about our critical situation. No one here cares about the families, or truly, the animals. Just the money and ensuring you don't leave the parking lot. You are here to care for animals. Not build a larger facility to care less and charge more. Stay away. Even on phone calls you are treated with no professionalism and are disrespected. People come here in dire need of your help for their babies, then you scam them $3500 for one night. Makes me sick.

Sadly, we put our cat to sleep today. The staff at VMCLI were professional, yet incredibly compassionate & kind. We appreciated that during this difficult time.

Thank you so much for taking care of my little Annabelle after falling down the stairs. She is doing so well and back to herself with her big personality in a 2lb body. You have a wonderful team????

They let my pet leave with a fractured spine. Didn't xray her. Now she needs a specialist. I expected better from this place.

Five Stars all around. Everyone was extremely professional, personable & caring ~ from the initial call made to schedule a consultation right through to when I was able to pick-up my cat after surgery. Even the folks at the pharmacy were amazing. The drop off/pick-up system went so smoothly & quickly ~ all the staff involved were extremely friendly & competent. And I cannot praise Dr. Ardolino enough ~ she took time (ringing me in my car while waiting) during the consultation to explain my pet's condition clearly (stomatitis with faucitis) & reviewed the various options, again explaining very clearly. She was compassionate & patient, very understanding. After the procedure, Dr. Ardolino called me as soon as my pet was waking with a complete run-down of the operation & next steps. Again, she was very compassionate. I brought my pet home that evening & within a few short days she was back to her spunky self! Many thanks to everyone at VMLI. This is without a doubt the place to bring your beloved fur baby for oral surgery.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. they do not return phone calls. Unexpected bill sent to a debt collector with out even notifying me first!! Called to speak with a manager over 20x not one person would call back. Terrible business and they take advantage of people. Way over priced. I advise bringing your animal to another vet.

What a disgrace, I brought my dog there over the weekend paid over $1400 (FYI they will not see dog till they get payment first!!! ) The dog was having the same issues 2 days later, called them complaining about this. Spoke to a NASTY receptionist who by the way hung up on me!!!! Called back again spoke to someone else who advised me that she will have a doctor call back asap, Guess what been 3 days and nothing!! But they got paid for there service! DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE!! All they care about is getting paid, not your pet!!!

I had to take my rabbit in for an emergency appointment. They wanted to keep him overnight for a cost of anywhere between $1100-1500. I had to wait outside in my car for 3 1/2 hrs for which 2 of the hours I sat there with no communication from anyone. Kelly was the only good thing about this experience. Don’t waste your time!!!

Terrible, unprofessional vet clinic. No communication, incredibly lazy, very rude staff. Go here if you want to sit for 5+ hours without knowing what's going on with your animal. They did nothing for my animal for 6 hours and sent us home with medication we did not need because they didn't care to take more than 5 minutes to diagnose my animal properly. What an absolute joke

Came on a Sunday and they were willing to take my cat in immediately which was great. Vet calls me as I'm waiting in the parking lot, tells me everything is okay and i'll get a prescription. I proceeded to wait over an hour with no answer, they took my credit card and disappeared, and no cat. I've waited through multiple rotations of people to be left sitting there wondering where the hell they got my cat and money.

I have been struggling for a very long time with this facility. We have taken our Parrot for treatment there in the past and she is currently on a prescription for calcium which I unfortunately need to call into this office for refills and it’s always the same run around. You call and leave a message for prescription refill and never get a call back. You keep calling and still nothing. You then start calling and getting frustrated and then they seem surprised that you would be annoyed at the numerous unanswered requests. This has now happened to me three separate times. This time I felt compelled to write this review because people should know what goes on here. I have now been calling for TWO WEEKS for a simple prescription refill. During the two weeks Ive had three different people leave a voicemail on my cell saying that my prescription was called in to the pharmacy. Each of those calls directed me to a different pharmacy and none of them had received the prescription. I call the office again and was told someone will call me back. I’ve now been given another pharmacy and yet the prescription still has not been sent in there either. I don’t know why they wouldn’t send it to the same pharmacy they have before or why they say they sent the prescription anywhere if they haven’t. You call in and get the run around. There is never a manager available and the manager never calls you back. When you finally get through and get your issue resolved they apologize and say they don’t normally have this issue but yet I have this issue EVERY-TIME I need the calcium refilled. I can’t imagine I am the only one experiencing this lack of customer service and honestly a lack of compassion for the animal that needs the meds. I will be reporting this facility as well since we are yet to have this issue resolved and I still have not been able to speak to a manager. After posting my review I started reading through other peoples experiences and noticed they only reply to people who give them a 5 ⭐️ rating. You would think that if they actually cared they would address any and all concerns and negative feedback.

I went for an oncology consult for my dog and everyone was very kind and informative. They are working hard over there doing curbside. Great people work there, from those coming out to ask questions about the pet, to the people who take payment, to the person checking everyone in, the vet techs and Assistants, and the doctors!

The best and most sophisticated animal hospital in the tri-state area; I have been referred to VMCLI multiple times by multiple vets all over the country for specific procedures. Their ER is great too. Staff is responsive and courteous, the techs clearly love animals, and the doctors know their stuff. Not cheap but a superlative animal hospital. Very thankful I was referred.

They saved my ferret’s life- I highly recommend for those with animal medical emergencies. Quick, responsive and zero attitude when time was of the essence. Dr. Poniatowski explained everything in depth and made sure we knew what was happening at all times, and worked with us through giving us many options for what we could do.

Very professional communication and service by the staff and veterinarian. It was a little tricky, as due to Covid19, owners must stay in their cars while pets are taken inside. However, the staff, as well as the vet, came out many times with updates, questions, etc, as necessary. I felt like the staff/vet cared about my pet and were great about explaining all options. I took my dog at night on a Saturday, in an emergency situation. He was taken in right way, treated appropriately and was able to go home that night. Very good experience all around! I took off one star because I did think that $500 for x-rays was a little excessive. However, because it was emergent, and after normal hours, I was anticipating things costing a little more than at the normal vet office.

Unless you are seeing one of their specialists(which are wonderful) stay clear of this hospital. They have lost all their good ER staff and the animals suffer. I also work for a veterinary hospital and my doc use to refer VMCLI until my horrific experience while euthanizing my own dog. My 11 year old newfoundland had been under the care of both the internist and surgeon for many years. So when she suddenly collapsed, i immediately took her there assuming that they would do everything to save her based on her history. But instead the ER doc spent 5 minutes with her and called me to tell me that she "can't FIX her today" I mean who says that? There were no diagnostics done on her, only an irregular heart beat determined. The doc just said that I was dealing with a quality of life issue and it was time to euthanize. Less than 10 hours prior, the dog took a one hour walk and had a normal dinner! I may work in the field but when it's your own pet, you become that distraught pet owner at this difficult time. I don't think this doc even bothered to look at my dog's history. When it came time to get the "pawprint" they supposedly made, no one could find it. In fact the staff got nasty with me after I questioned where it was as I waited an hour with my autistic daughter in the parking lot for something that probably was never made. It's been 2 months and I still DO NOT have my dog's records. I have called, the vet I work for has called, and so have my techs. And STILL NOTHING. The ER doc herself promised to send me within 48 hours and nothing. If you love you pet, go to VEGS or Atlantic coast in an emergency. I am so heartbroken that i didn't.

Took our rabbit there. It was very lethargic. They said we could pay 1.5k to keep it overnight and see or put it down. We decided to take him home, turn out he was dehydrated. Hes all better. Also took them over 2 hours to release him to us.

I am SO GRATEFUL to the staff at VMCLI for saving the life of my three month old kitten Little Jimmy. I took him in as an emergency at night and he was in heart failure. The vet on that night who cared for him, Dr. Monaco, could not have been more caring and attentive. She spent 45 minutes with me on the phone after initial exam explaining what they found and the course of action and answering my questions. As someone who works in a human doctor’s office, I can guarantee you no human doctor would ever spend that much time with a patient on the phone showing that amount care. She proceeded to call me twice in the middle of the night with updates and options for care. In the morning Little Jimmy was transferred to the Cardiology department and put under the care of Dr. Morgenstern. Dr. Morgenstern is wonderfully caring and brilliant! He was able to pinpoint what is happening to Little Jimmy and presented me with a possible course of action to save him. I cannot thank him enough and I’m so glad that he is the one overseeing Jimmy. Throughout Jimmy’s stay there, I was constantly updated and given realistic cost estimates. At every moment I had the opportunity to decline if the cost was too much for me. At every moment I was given realistic expectations that his condition was not good and the proposed treatment might not work or could cause other issues in turn. The prognosis was not good and I didn’t expect him to pull through, but it is because of the incredible staff and their knowledge and their care that my sweet little boy is still with me! If he had not made it, I still would have felt that they did everything they could to save him. I disagree with my whole heart with every negative review on here. Every single person I encountered on staff was so nice and caring! The cost was a lot, but I don’t understand how people are surprised by that. If a person walks into an ER in a hospital without health insurance, running tests and ultrasounds and x-rays etc are thousands upon thousands of dollars—it’s no different for animals and comparatively speaking is actually much cheaper. It’s a lot to treat emergency situations in animals, anywhere, period. I know that’s hard for people, it’s hard for me too, but that doesn’t make it their fault that it’s a financial burden for you. I suggest looking into a Care Credit card that can be used for emergency vet visits (as well is other things, such as elective/cosmetic surgery for humans that insurance won’t cover). Anyway, I for one am a very satisfied client! I think they went above and beyond to save my kitten! His future is still unknown as he is living with a serious heart condition, but it is because of VMCLI that he had a future at all and words cannot express how thankful I am for that. <3

I Waited for three hours for basically no diagnosis and they did a litany of tests that I doubt were necessary. $1084 later I had no diagnosis. I had three hours of my time wasted. It was a terrible experience

We were very pleased with VMCLI - From the day we met Dr. Brodsky to start chemo for our cat through the one of the worst days ever. VMCLI was always on top of everything - They explained each step, pill, shot, action, EVERYTHING. We were sent to VMCLI from our local vet when Wednesday was diagnosed with lymphoma and they gave us an extra AMAZING 5 months with her. Thank you VMCLI!

I was impressed with the internal medicine specialist Dr. Nick Parente and I felt he really listened to my concerns about my senior dog's health issues. He was thorough and came up with treatment options to address my pup's multiple issues. I also received a detailed report that evening via email.
