Always has been my vet for many years . The staff are kind caring and considerate .

I had an appt 12/7, 3:30. Got in shortly after which was great! The assistant who brought me to the room, with my dog. Was the rudest , most ignorant Person I have ever met! She has absolutely no people skill, and should not be working in a public setting! She never once said, Hello, how is puppy Bailey doing, any concerns, do you have any questions. Just said , here for rabies shot? She then took Bailey to another room. * which I don’t under stand why the Dr can’t come to the room and administer the rabies shot. I heard Bailey crying, not a yelp, crying, I walked out of the room asked the receptionist where my dog is and why is he crying. She opened the door, asked if Bailey was ok. The same assistant YELLED at me to get back to my room. I have to follow protocols for covid. I said I’m wondering why Bailey is crying. She YELLEd again. For me to return to my room. I called when I got home spoke to manager and said I have never been treated so poorly! I will never come back here again! Even the dr blamed her attitude on covid and protocols. Do Not Go To Oakwood Vet!!! Cherie C

Had a paralyzed puppy that was unable to walk, the emergency vet recommended buying a puppy wheelchair but Oakwood thought there was hope! We started doing laser spinal treatments, the vet explained it wasn't guaranteed, but after 1 treatment she could stand again! After the next she was taking steps! Now my Myla is 5 years old and can run and jump with no issue and has NEVER used a wheelchair thanks to Oakwood! I'll never go anywhere else

Worst place ever to bring your pet. Reception staff and staff all together are very unprofessional as well as disrespectful to pet owners. Never have I had an experience like this at my own veterinary office. Which I was unable to bring my pet at the time. Horrible people skills. Staff should be given classes on how to interact with pet owners. It took all my patients not to clock the staff member who I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with. I’d never bring my pet to this office ever again, even in an emergency!!

Arrived at 5:20pm for a 5:30pm. Waited 40 minutes. When my time is prioritized as less valuable. Then it's time for a change in Service Providers. Time is money!

Staff is always pleasant and helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I have never had such a positive experience at a vet before! I felt heard and the care suggested was not overzealous and incredibly compassionate. I myself require a walker and staff assisted me as much as they did my dog. I was there in an emergency situation and was surprised at how low the bill was. We have a new vet! Amazing.

They really take care of the fur babies!

Additional: Been going here for 4 years now and am sad that I need to find a new veterinary clinic because we are relocating. Oakwood has been a pleasure each time we visit. They are always willing to answer my questions and really care about my pet. Again we are sad we need to leave the comfort and kindness we get from Oakwood. Been going here for over a year. Great polite staff that love animals and are always willing to help you. It does seem that they are understaffed or over booked however because the vet only has about 15 minutes in the room with you and your pet before he is off to the next person.

Update7/2021: I am a loyal client of all these years. Again allergy issue, they got my dog soonest apt the same day, they even took not one, BUT TWO of my post appointment calls which resulted in them offering to have her back for another visit at the very end of the day. I’ll be honest hearing the “hold music” asking folks to be kind to them not to abuse the staff…… left my heartbroken. They are all very intelligent, kind, friendly and VERY EFFICIENT. Dr Wagnor is wonderful, Jeanne is wonderful, Marianna you’re a star, Alexis (sp?) you were so gracious this morning checking in on us while we waited in the parking lot. Our vet tech for office visit today was so kind, understanding and communicated everything beautifully to the doctor. I feel terrible for not remembering the vet techs name. Rachel the tech in evening was wonderful for the run-back. As always prices are reasonable. Update 5/13/2018: have been here many times since getting our newest puppy and of course great- but what I really need to highlight is Jeanne (front desk) and Dr. Wagnor who has taken over the practice with his daughter. All incredible professionals. Unfortunately our pups got sick (allergy related issue) and I can’t speak positivity enough about how the animals were helped. Can’t wait to see you guys for our next routine visit (hopefully not sooner!) Update 7/5/2017: brought B boy in for a quick vaccine, as always 10/10 quality, value, etc. beyond appreciate this clinic. Dr. John is the doctor we see, I'm sure all are the same high quality but specifically we've been seen by him every time, ALWAYS high quality medicine and treatment towards our dog. Thank you again ! See you guys next year ! Again, 10/10 quality, value, highest quality doctors, medicine, staff !!!!!!!!!!!! See below for rest of my consistently amazing visits !!!!! Update 6/26/2017: always such a pleasure to deal with this Vet office. Amazing staff front desk, to techs, to doctors ! All wonderful. High quality standards upheld all across the board. They are ALWAYS reasonably price and will NOT make you return unless it is in your animals best interest. They are NOT greedy at all. Called for proof of vaccination, Cas (always helpful!) emailed it within seconds of hanging up with me ! Always always always go here if you can. Only day they're not open is Sunday, they are 10/10! Update 4/26/2017: been SO happy w this vet. Ask for Dr. John. Great dr ! Very caring ! I'd absolutely recommend this facility to anyone, even if Dr John is not available I'm sure the other doctors are just as qualified ! 10 months ago: It started when my own corporate vet in Latham NY could not see my sick pup for one week. I called in the evening, the Dr saw us the next afternoon. Great customer service. Great care. More than reasonable prices - they are NOT there to take your money.

Cat had an emergency. Family recommended them.They fit us in and looked at her same day. Everyone was so nice. Kitty is on the mend.

Definitely a 5 star review. All of the staff there are truly so friendly, kind and helpful. There is never a long wait to be seen. I would recommend this Veterinary Clinic to everyone

My dog was having a medical emergency. They were the closest ones us so I brought him there and they refused him care because they were eating lunch.

I can’t thank the Doctor's and the rest of the staff enough for the care they provided my Cat Mr. Biggles for the last 9 years of his life. Very good communication and rapid response when it comes to the needs of their patients and delivering sound diagnosis and treatment. He lived a quality life because of these people helping me out. They will alway be in my thoughts because of how great they were to my boy from the first time they treated him and into his final moment into eternal rest.

Very attentive to keeping everything moving. Very good service I must have watched about 16 or 20 cars behind me and it was so busy. They we were taken as an emergency And dr handled smoothly

Love oakwood, they love my dogs. Everyone is always so nice. My dogs seem to like it there. Never have the oh no it's the vets from them. Also I love the tortoises.

Had to bring 1 of out pets in to be put to sleep. They were very understanding and gave of time to say goodbye. We take all of our pets there to be checked

I recently moved to the area and needed a new Vet to take my 8 month old cat to. I took him in for what I thought was a UTI and was told he had a heart murmur and stage 2 kidney disease. After receiving that rather serious diagnosis my partner and I decided to get a second opinion. After having him get checked out by five different doctors, ten minutes before closing as well mind you, at Banfield Animal hospital in Latham we were told conclusively our boy was completely healthy and happy. DO NOT take your pet to Oakwood Veterinarian! On top of giving us a completely false diagnosis for a simple check up it was nearly three hundred dollars as well. I highly recommend Banfield Animal Hospital in Latham but DO NOT recommend Oakwood Veterinarian. If I could give them less than one star, I would.

Techs and dr and all staff go above and beyond

This place is a joke. All young people running it and think they cant treat customers rudely. 7yrs going there and blocked my services because of a young rude employee and thought she can get away with it. Sorry but not sorry.

Victoria who answers the phone is rude to the point I moved my 5 pets to a different practice directly after getting off of the phone with her. That coupled with how late visit times run and how long simple visits take these days was it for me.

They give it to you straight. They care and they are efficient.

When to them a few years ago. And they where so good before I have decided to return to them for my pets.
