$461 to bring in my 20 year old cat who passed away at home for cremation. I couldn't afford that. Ethics are long gone in Veterinary medicine, disgusting and money grubbing ????

Horrible. Do not go here. They cared less about my dieing pet and more about money. PLUS let me sit for 4 hours before being seen. They have ONE doctor on. That’s it. $2000 later. My baby died.

We recently made the difficult decision to end our beloved dog’s life. Everyone at Green Acres were so compassionate and helpful with us at such heart breaking time. We just picked up the paw print they made for us, so thoughtful.

I had a good experience here today. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. The Dr. was great and explained everything really well. I liked that a technician came in to give me a break down of the costs of certain things my pet may need and then let me decide if I wanted all the testing done or if I wanted to go a more conservative route. I didn’t feel pressured into anything and I thought the prices were reasonable being that it is a full service 24 hour emergency clinic.

These guys literally saved my girls life. Her leg was rotting off from a brown recluse spider bite and they got her in quickly, were extremely compassionate and kept me up to date on everything that was going on. She ended up having surgery to remove half the tissue on her leg and was given pain killers and antibiotics to take home. I was sent home with very specific care sheets and they even text me pics of my girls leg before and after the surgery without the bandage. They put her in a quiet room to recover with a blanket under and over her while we discussed the 6-8 months of home care I would need to do and settled the bill. I absolutely love these guys and as much as hope to never have to go there again, this will be my first choice! And only cost me $800. Way lower than they quoted and I expected.

Such a horrible vet! They acted like they were scared of my pit bull who was in pain. They put a muzzle on him before he even got out the car and still feared for their staff. They barely treated him and gave him too high of a dosage of pain meds. Never again! Don’t go here

I forgot to write a review about my experience around 2 years ago, but I figured it's better late than never. Our cat had some issues with her pregnancy around the holidays - and started becoming very weak and ill around Christmas Eve. On Christmas I called into this vet since they were the only ones open and described her issues and was informed I should bring her in immediately. It turned out that she was suffering sepsis from carrying her babies which were already deceased and made it unable for her to deliver them. Though it was hard to hear that we lost her babies before ever meeting them, the staff was absolutely wonderful with us: they didn't sugarcoat things, but they weren't blunt about it either and took the time to explain things to us. All these years later, Shirley ( our cat ) is better than ever and I'm so thankful for the team that worked on her. Thank you so much!

Overcharged, took forever to tell us that there really wasn’t anything wrong with our dog and then tried to keep him overnight for extra money, and the staff was more interested in what was happening in the parking lot than releasing our dog to us.

Unbelievably expensive! $800 for stitches. And they tried to make it sound good bye 1st presenting a $1000 (option a)bill for blood work as well which you can deny. So you feel good about accepting (option b) an $800 bill for stitches. …

They basically charged us $350 to do nothing but send us somewhere else. Took our puppy in here for a broken leg. It took them a while to even see him. When they did see him they made us feel guilty for his broken leg. It took them 2 and half hours for them to tell us they couldn’t do anything and to go to Orchard Park Veterinary medical center because he may need surgery and they don’t do surgery there. They didn’t brace him or anything. We had to drive 30 minutes to go to a different pet hospital. They said they would send over his X-Rays to this hospital but they never did. When we did get to the orchard park medical center, they were far more professional, saw him right away, and only took an hour before we knew everything. They put him in a brace, gave him medication and helped us set up a consult with a surgeon (he may not even need surgery). Very upset with this. They basically charged us $350 to do nothing but send us somewhere else.

Would not go to this place. Prices are ridiculous. They will suggest you leave your dog overnight just to suck your money out.

We had to bring our dog here after he had a seizure in the middle of the night. Prices are outrageous! They totally take advantage of people being in a desperate situation with their pets. I only gave it 2 stars because I really liked the second vet that took care of my dog. BTW, we brought him in twice in an 8 hour period & had to pay the almost $200 fee twice because the vet we saw the first time left for the day & a new vet came in by the second visit. If it had been the same vet we wouldn't have been charged the 'admission' fee again. They wanted us to leave him for observation for 24 hours & were told that would cost about $2400 on top of what we already paid. No way!

I’m honestly just not sure how I feel about this place. I spent $500 today after bringing my dog in to get his swollen leg checked out.. and after spending 3 hours in the parking lot waiting for X-rays and tests to be completed, they told me there weren’t any broken bones. They then suggested running more tests (at this point I’ve spent hundredssss of dollars for literally nothing, so I wasn’t comfortable giving them more of my money). They then charged me $90 for some anti-inflammatories and antibiotics and said to “cross my fingers” and hope it works. I honestly feel like I was ripped off, and I’m not someone who can financially spend hundreds of dollars (on nothing) and then not even receive any peace of mind for my pet. 2 stars since I have meds for him, but overall felt like a waste of time and money.

Dealing with a horrible issue where an aggressive dog bit a baby multiple times in the face. Unfortunately we need to put him down. Called before we came and when we got here they wouldn't help us without a police report. The baby is at children's hospital and we'll deal with the police tomorrow but they wouldn't help us. The last thing we want to do is put him down but he mauled a 14 month old. Will never come here again.

We had an emergency and our dog required stitches. The bill was $2000. We managed to talk them down to $1400 after we realized they wanted to perform an unnecessary test. They charge for "day boarding" while she was there waiting to be seen which we could have avoided if she stayed in the car? They wanted to keep her overnight but we had to haggle our way out of that. We waited for over an hour and she was bleeding nonstop in our car and no one came out to check to see if it had stopped. Profits over pets at this place. They really take advantage of the desperate. They tried to pitch a credit card to us to pay for it too. I wonder what their commission is on those too.

Horrible place. They only care about the money and will LIE to get you to spend your money. Got a second opinion from a more reputable veterinarian and they said this place was trying to do unnecessary procedures to get money. I also found out from a current employee that this hospital does not treat the animals well and really only care about how much money they make off of each person. The vets BRAG about the bills at the end of a visit. Please do NOT consider ever bringing your pet here. Please! Our pets deserve way better than this place.

Im torn to write this however I believe people should know what they're getting into. My Plott hound got himself a good gash that I wanted addressed. The vet I spoke with was kind and understanding giving us options for treatment. Due to location and size we all agreed that cleaning and a bandage was good enough with antibiotics and an anti inflammatory. So vet care is 5 star and I expected cost to be slightly higher, which it was by maybe 5% since it was an emergency visit. Even at our regular vet emergency visits are more expensive so that it's not a big issue. My issue: Waiting in a car in direct sunlight with a bleeding dog for over 45 minutes is beyond much. Luckily it wasn't a huge wound that was dripping or worse but geez nearly an hour without anyone checking to see his wound or otherwise? Yeah, that's not ok. Add to it that there is really not much space to walk your dog if you don't want to just sit and cook. A heads up to the wait at any point in time would have been appropriate.

Any emergency vet is "expensive"... What is your animal's life worth to you? With that said... They have a true love for animals & respect towards their guardians/owners & that is priceless. I had no worries. They called me everyday, didn't administer anything without my knowledge or consent. They even gave us visitation during Beefer's (cat) 3 day stay. Bathed him due to his issue at no extra cost. Yes, he was a very good boy for them & they loved him. This was 2 years ago & I'm having tags made for our dog to include them as an emergency contact.

Lied to about price, overcharged. Lied to about wait time. Spent 4 hours waiting for something that would take 1 hour and cost $500. Was here for 4 hours cost went to 800 and agreed on then magically increased to $1,000 in 15 minutes with …

Can't thank them enough for getting our girl in as fast as they could and helping her! Especially with the COVID regulations. They were very nice and easy to talk to which made us feel so much better about sending our dog in without us. I definitely recommend them.

DO NOT go here unless you are prepared to be overcharged and taken advantage of in an emergency situation. You are charged $110 just to get your name on the waiting list and then another $90 just to walk through the door. I understand emergency’s happen and am grateful my dog is okay and was given care but when comparing to other emergency vet offices this one overcharges on everything. It is clear they want to try and gouge as much money from you as they can. All the medications given are half priced at other places and when I asked what the additional charges were for when I went to pick up my dog they just said medication and did not disclose the prices or give me the itemized list until after I paid. My dog had to stay overnight and was treated for 2 seizures and the bill came to $3000. After reading many other reviews I know I am not alone in feeling this way, validating that I feel taken advantage of.

I rushed my dog, Molly, in because she ate a piece of candy with xylotol. I could not have asked for a more caring, loving handling of Molly. I was able to call and check on her whenever I wanted. Thankfully, she came home the next evening. …

Terrible experience, improper medication and $1500 over charged. I brought my cat in after he was very lethargic and dehydrated after not eating and drinking. After an x-ray, blood work, iv and a night stay, we were charged $3500. We were given no reason what was wrong with my cat and insisted bringing him home. We were given 6 different medications with no diagnosis and no explanation of what each medication was for. One liquid medication said 5 drops in the eye and after putting one drop in the cat's eye and seeing him freak out, I looked up the medication and found out the lable on the medication should have said DROPS IN EAR. And when reviewing our bill, I saw a charge for $1500 for a medication we never even received. After taking the cat to our personal vet for a check-up, he said he doesn't understand any of the work the was done on the cat and why the types of medication were given and advised to stop all medication.

We are so thankful for the wonderful staff at Northtowns Emergency. Our long haired kitty wasn't eating normal, acting lethargic and was throwing up a lot. They do a great job keeping both humans and pets safe with their Covid procedures. It was tough not being able to go in for the initial exam, but we knew she was in great hands the moment Dr. Rottstock called us. Dr. Rottstock has such a calming and caring demeanor and truly made a nerve-wrecking situation for us (and our cat) easier. She listened to our concerns and gave us options. We are happy to report that our cat was able to pass the blockage thanks to an overnight stay with some X-rays and a barium treatment. As an added bonus, our cat is a patient at Green Acres and was able to be seen during the day by her regular vet (the AMAZING Dr. Parkhill). So grateful to have this emergency clinic and veterinary office so close to our house.

Absolutely terrible, took 3 hours just to get my dog in the door, after waiting and seeing numerous people arrive and leave. I called 3 times to see when my dog is being brought in all 3 times they said we were next with an hour wait. Also i was told it would cost around $100 which i i expect to pay more for testing and medication but it went from 100 to 600, not including any actual work being done to the dog, it was done. Thats not including the surgery he has to go through which they said would be upwards of 3K. And on top of all this the receptionist tried to talk over me the whole time we were on the phone, but i got a big mouth so we pretty much just talked in unison the whole time. All in all not somewhere im taking my dogs unless its an emergency and thats that because its less than 10 minutes from my house. Edit: All together the whole trip took about 5 and a half hours.

They charge 110 dollars just to get on a waitlist where they then will charge you double for everything after the visit. All about the money not the pets.I've been a 12 year customer and am appalled at the way they are now, used to be the complete opposite.

I called this vet before I came, and after a hour of driving and listening to my cat howl in pain I made it to the vet. After arriving I called to say I was there, and they told me there would be a 3-4 hour wait. They could have told me that before I drove all the way out. The lady did not seem to care about my cats problem and proceeded to tell me I should just wait until tomorrow when I was very worried about how much pain my cat was in.

Before you pay them for medicine, look it up on Chewy.com first. I am disgusted at the fact that I paid $154 for a $1.97 medicine. And $105.67 for a $36.26 item. I wish I could post the picture of my bill!! They take advantage of people in stressful times. I thought my dog was going to die, so here I am doing all I can for him. I show my sister the bill, wondering how I’m going to pay for thanksgiving and she shows me that they charged me over 75x what I should have paid. Obviously they care about their paychecks and not about helping people and animals. Absolutely disgusting!!!
