Bow Wow Wow Pet Groomers Staten Island, New York

I took my Husky to get groomed and when I was called to pick my Husky up as I was walking back home I noticed that my Husky was not combed out it seemed as if they only bathe him and that’s it. So, I phoned Bow Wow Wow and was told to bring my Husky back a few days after, I was told by the owner that they would take care of my Husky and correct the issue of not grooming him correctly. So I left and about 15 minutes after I get a phone call that my Husky bit the bather. So, I was told by an employee in front of the owner that if I want my Husky to be groomed by them I must have my Husky sedated. I then responded that I never ever had a problem with Angel or Christina who no longer work there. I was a customer for quite some time with my daughters Yorkie and my Husky. But, wow the audacity for them to lie about my Husky biting the bather and the rudeness and unprofessional remarks said in front of the owner who did absolutely nothing. Do yourself a favor never ever take your dog there, the new employees are soooo rude and the owner just sits there while the employee talks down and unprofessional to people.

Had been very satisfied with this business. Maybe covid or something altered this place.took new dog. Groomer in a hurry totally shaved dogs tail without consulting owner dog is schicon signature tail. That never offered services, apologized but rudely defended their actions. Took dog back thought discussed with groomer tipped her etc.. now they rudely stated I had altercation with groomer. I never have involved in ugly altercations then she hung up phone. I was shocked by the rude defensive position

Trust them with my dog always do really good

At first I didn’t want to leave a review if it was bad but honestly I feel ripped off and I think others should be aware of how things are done at this groomers. They initially told me it would take an hour if not a bit longer but they called me about 30 minutes later to say she was ready. When I first arrived to pick up my dog the receptionist asked the groomer if she should charge me full price. I was a little confused why she would ask her that but didn’t think about it again. When I got in the car I noticed my dogs hair is still pretty long. I asked to go as short as possible because my dog gets dirty fast. So I was already a little upset that her hair wasn’t short and now I had to get home and finish the job. Ok that’s fine. I get home and shave off more than half the length and noticed my fingers were extremely oily and almost sticky. I smelled my dog and sure enough she smelled filthy. They didn’t even wash my dog. They must have sprayed her down with a perfume of some sort because the hair that was cut off smelled “fresh” enough. I don’t think it’s right to charge full price for half the service. This is as the worst place I have ever been to. My dog is a bit difficult to handle because she’s afraid of everything and everyone BUT I have never had a groomer not be able to wash her. I’ve had her for 6 years and she gets a minimum of 1 groom a month. If this place was honest they would have called me and said we can’t handle your dog please come pick her up OR they could have charged only for what they did but they decided to lie instead and rip people off. This was my personal experience and I do not know if this is how they do things there generally.

I’ve been going here for about a year. I have gone to almost every groomer. They all care so much and are truly passionate and attentive about the work they do. They try to be as flexible as possible with scheduling, and as a whole have really earned the title of being the best groomers on the Island.

Horrible place I took my dog there yesterday, that same exact day I had to take him the vet due to the fact he had bad allergic reaction and top of that I’ve seen that they cut his neck never again !!!

Ellie from Bow Wow Wow Groomers has been cutting my pup's hair for years, she loves animals, especially my boy and it shows. Ellie and everyone at Bow Wow Wow are awesome, and no cages for our the pups! Highly Recommend.

Allison and get staff are the best. Loving, caring and gives my Brownie the best haircut ever. I’ve been with Allison 10 years and would let anyone else groom my Brownie Boy.

Leo, my 6 year old yorkie looked great. Very pleased with all aspects of the process, from making the appointment to picking up my Leo. Good job.

Great people and they do good work

Love how the dogs are not caged up and they don't ask you to be there at 9 for pick up at 3. Everyone was very friendly and Allison did a great job on my 3 Yorkies.

Really cute dog spa , excellent operators Young And Hip. They are also great with the dogs. After your dog is groomed they roam free , they are not put in cages. The prices are right on target. They also have an excellent selection of dog toys, and clothing. Enjoy your experience.

Such a wonderful business. The owner was so sweet with my dog despite him being very difficult. She babied him through everything and was very patient. I will definitely be coming back

My Yorkie Valentino adores Allison and her staff. He actually races up the stairs and showers her with kisses the minute we get inside. We both think Bow Wow is awesome, and I have had quite a few dogs who have needed groomers since 1964! Cage free is special - and much appreciated. But importantly he ALWAYS looks wonderful (people in Manhattan stop me every day with “OMG he looks so cute!) (and YES we come in from Manhattan now that we have moved. ) I can not express how NICE everyone is, and how much I truly trust them.

My dog is now bald. This is what happens when people overbook or have someplace else to be. Example: Halloween. I should have never let my dog take the appointment. She literally has no tail now. A goldendoodle with no fluff!! I really just want to cry. I hope it grows back.

This place is top notch. Everyone is friendly, you can sit and watch your dog get groomed. Clean and accommodating. Best place I've been too.

My dog has been going there for more than 3 years now. The entire staff knows us by name and treats all their clients like family. Allison and Danielle are his groomers but Angel and Leo's (my dog) shampooer dont remember her name but she is a sweetheart love Leo also. They are all very kind and your dog is never locked in a cage. Love that!!

My Emma is 10 years old and has Cushings disease and arthritis. Not only does Angel do a great job grooming her but is also kind and considerate of her physical needs.

Bow wow wow has the most proficient polite and professional grooming staff on Staten Island, hands down. I strongly recommend them. They truly care about your pet.

Cage free! We've been taking our bulldogs to them for years! Always a great job!

I’ve been a client for close to two and a half years. I also work in the veterinary field and would refer our clients to them on multiple occasions. I contacted the groomer early August for my two females to get groomed, un related my mother passed the next day and as family was coming over for services, I wanted my two males to get groomed or at least bathed for company. My husband contacted them to see if they two could be seen the same day, the receptionist sighed and told us they can do the next day and my husband stressed it had to be today. The receptionist then told him he need the shot records for the males and we have to get it if not we have to make time to get it. I know plenty of groomers who contact the vets office on behalf of the client to verify immunizations, but that was never extended. My husband then tried to tell her we do not have the time right now and she then proceeded to raise her voice, speak over him and rush him off the phone. I contacted the receptionist myself and was met with the same brashness. I informed her that one male is up to date on his vaccines (which his file would indicate) and my other male has a condition (with a verified letter on file) that says he can not have vaccines for medical reasons. Instead of her looking into the system, she again was nasty and then yelled so I proceeded to yell at her back. I enjoyed my dogs getting groomed by Angel and the rest of the staff, especially since they were comfortable with them, but they lacked in empathy and customer service so I will not be returning nor referring there. On another note: if anyone knows a great groomer please let me know. Thanks.

Awesome staff. Max and Cookie came out great. I will definitely be back.
