High Ridge Animal Hospital Stamford, New York

We are fairly new to this practice. Doctors are wonderful ,thorough. Staff is great with our pet. The only reason I gave them 3 stars is because every single time ( 4 times till date) I've been there even with an appointment,they make you wait anywhere from 20-25 minutes. Maybe I always went when they had emergencies, I don't know but I thought it odd. If they figured out how to close that gap,they would be excellent.

This is the MOST CARING veterinarians office I’ve ever been to. We’ve been taking our dogs and cat here for years. From the front desk to the techs to the doctors, you’ll find nothing but respect, kindness, and great knowledge. They are also forgiving (we’ve been late and missed appts) and are never met with an attitude, instead they are solution oriented and focused on how they can help. Very accommodating. They know their stuff , they know their patients, and they know how to make you really understand everything they are doing or going to do to your sweet baby animals.

Friendly staff, they really love animals. Happy with my annual visits there.

The staff and veterinarians are wonderful...they take the time to explain findings, they outline all options for possible treatments and costs, they are responsive and compassionate, and their staff is friendly and helpful. So grateful to have found them!

My first experience at High Ridge Animal Hospital could not have gone better. Michael and Sarah were incredibly kind, thorough, and efficient. They took the time to answer all my questions, and were so caring with my kitten Luna. I think it was Michelle at the front desk who was also very gracious. Lovely staff and lovely little place.

The technician who came to my car to get my kitty for her pedicure was very sweet and friendly. Though, I will not return due to the high cost of $23 for the pedicure (and, they missed one nail). This place is much closer to my house than my usual vet, but the high cost of the pedicure left a sour note.

I brought my cat Opie in yesterday as a follow-up to a quick trip to the Cornell Emergency clinic last week re: an out-of-the blue seizure he had. It was a huge comfort to have the counsel of Dr. Shattuck who has seen Opie (and his two siblings) through all kinds of issues over the last nine years. She and the whole staff provide incredible support. Would that they could serve MY medical needs!

Dr. Shattuck and everyone at High Ridge Animal Hospital are amazing-so caring and extremely competent. With Covid, they are using proper precautions and keeping everyone safe. Our 12 1/2 year old German Shepherd had her check up yesterday and Dr. Shattuck was very compassionate and thorough in discussing how Andie is doing and how we need to monitor her quality of life. She had great recommendations on how to help Andie since she is experiencing weakness in her back legs due to neuropathy. We have received the absolute best care over Andie's life at this office. I highly recommend Dr. Shattuck and this office!

I can't speak more highly of Dr. Murphy - she quickly diagnosed our dog Norman with severe anemia & referred to specialists right away for immediate care. She has followed up with us several times, just checking in to see how he & we are doing. She is a wonderful vet who clearly cares deeply about her patients as she has gone out of her way to help us get the correct internal medicine vet for Norman, even though it meant he could no longer see her. We hope we can return to HRAH soon as regular (non-emergency) patients soon because everyone here seems to genuinely care & want what's best for you & your pet.

We are thrilled with the care our new puppy, Bella, is receiving at High Ridge Animal Hospital...from the technicians to the receptionist to the doctors, everyone is so patient and kind. THANK YOU for making our experience so positive.

First visit and my doggie was treated so nicely and professionally. She was so nervous however the doctor and assistants calmed her and made her comfortable. Our visit was GREAT! Thank you!

The staff is always cheery and pleasant. Dr. Shattuck is the best! Kind, compassionate and always considerate of prioritizing necessary treatments to manage budgets. We love High Ridge Animal Hospital! They are also very generous with treats!

Getting real sick and tired of this place- during the pandemic, when nothing was opened, I asked them to fill a temporary script for my dog, who was clearly in pain, they refused arguing the doctor had to see the dog before giving a script- although it was same problem just a couple months prior- I told them just needed a temporary script due to shutdown, they wouldn't budge- after a couple of weeks I caved and made an appointment- guess what, the doctor agreed it was the same problem as last time and wrote me a script for a whole year! Then my dog was having a similar problem with her other back leg, i called to speak to the doctor, which they would not allow me to do, they told me I have to come in again for another visit even though the doctor and I agree we have an idea of the issue i just wanted to review my options, but they won't even give me 5 minutes to discuss. The final straw for me was I called to get another temp script since I ordered my refill online- the first time a script of 60 pills was $105, I asked for 20 to get by and they wanted to charge me $75- of course I mentioned this and they said oh we double charged for dispensing fee- they removed one dispensing fee for of them and 20 was still $56!! So I asked them to just give me another 60 and low and behold it was $105- you decide for yourself if this what you want from your vet! My dog is 9 and i have been using them for about 5 years and previous experiences were good, but the last year or so has gotten worse- if the doctor doesn't want to talk to me, fine, if they don't want to give me a script in pandemic, fine, if they want to overcharge me for a temp fill to help dog, fine. I guess i will have to find a new vet that cares, is compassionate and is not going to take advantage of my dog for their own financial benefit.

We have a mixed breed that our daughter brought home from Nicaragua about 8 years ago. Ever since, High Ridge Animal Hospital has taken GREAT care of Bailey and has let us know what treatment he needs and why. They are wonderful!

Always the efficient, polite and organized veterinary practice, they came through again. I love this group where each doctor is well versed in all aspects of my dogs' health and are very understanding and patient with me and all of my "issues." Usually I see Dr. Shadduck but yesterday Dr. Standish was the vet that Jack saw. Right now, they are following COVID rules and I am so appreciative of their safety for my doggies, me and other patients...I continue to be impressed and recommend them to anyone asking.

Was a.good experience for my cat ...he broke a record as being the largest feline ???? on record to enter the hospital
