They took the best care of my dog, from the days he was healthy until the end when he was in decline. I'm so thankful for their kindness and expertise.

Today was my cat Steve’s first time visiting Orchard Veterinary Hospital. I was super nervous for him but our experience was great! The staff is very attentive and knowledgeable. I highly recommend bringing your furry family members here!

I rarely write reviews, but really felt I needed to sing Orchard Vet's praises! I brought my pup in for some vaccine boosters (her first time here), and vet tech Kelsey and Dr. O'Keefe went above and beyond in making my nervous, anxious girl feel more comfortable and at ease. They were really understanding, caring, and patient. Dr. O'Keefe had gone through my pup's prior vet records beforehand, and checked in with me about a few health issues in her past; a preparedness and attentiveness which I really appreciated. It is clear that the staff here really care about your pets, as well as your role as caretaker of them. Our visit did not feel rushed, and they made sure all my questions/concerns were addressed before leaving. Thank you for a lovely appointment! We are so happy we found Orchard Vet!

Orchard Vet has taken great care of me and my dog, Rayo, ever since he came home with me as a puppy. From helping me get my bearings as a new dog owner to the more routine check ups, vaccinations, lab tests and neutering, etc., they doctors and staff are always knowledgable and very sweet. And a huge bonus is that they are super responsive with paperwork. In particular, a couple times I have needed proof of Rayo's vaccination status at the last minute, and they are super quick to get me the papers needed. Many thanks to the Orchard Vet Team for all the love you give every day!!

Great office that helped with our fussy kitty who needed some Vet TLC. Dr. O'Keefe took all the time to answer questions and make recommendations for our kitty's care. The abundant tulips outside the office on Shelburne Rd make for a welcoming feeling showing that the office and staff truly care!

I have only seen Dr. O’Keefe and Emily so I can only speak for my interactions with them BUT I am so pleased. My dog is reactive, frightened, terrified of the vet and strangers in general. Emily has been so lovely with him and has taken the time to call ahead of the appointment to brainstorm ideas on how to make the appointment as easy as possible for my boy. She walks with him before the appointment and had me bring some of his favorite treats/toys which really helps! My vet in the past wanted to give him numerous sedatives for every appointment because they didn’t seem to know how to manage him. The prices are reasonable and they respect that he needs quick appointments and they don’t try to push him past his comfort zone as far as what he will tolerate. Overall, a great experience!

Bennie was treated so well. He went in for a dental cleaning. They were so kind to us and Bennie. They provided me with updates on his recovery, pre and post prep and know they are only a phone call away if I need something. A perfect healthcare model. Thank you for your care. I don't say that lightly.

They wouldn’t allow my pet to get a rabbis shot without an annual exam. So I signed up for the exam which they charge $50. I was probably in their office for 7-10 minutes. The vet barely touched my dogs body, took his heartbeat, then gave him a treat and it was done. I ended up having to pay $73 for something I could have done myself. Definitely wouldn’t recommend!

stay away from this vet. they over charge you, dont work with you at all and are not responsive. when we first moved here we went here by chance and went a few times for regular, routine care and sick visits. they were unable to examine my very frightened dog, but still charged full exam fees- but didnt problem solve to figure out ways to help her be calmer at the vet's, they often suggested treatments that were explicitly out of my income range, without compassionate understanding of what we could and could not realistically do for care- and were disappointingly unhelpful when she was brought in for specific issues- usually related to allergies and flares- always charging full "annual physical fees," but not doing the physical, before they would treat an acute issue, which they never fully resolved. So, i wasnt thrilled with them, but as a creature of habit did not seek a new vet. When my dog had an ear infection more than a year ago- and i was broke I asked if they would just treat the ear- they said no- wouldnt accept payment plans and were dismissive- no suggestions. I brought my dog to old North End and they only charged for ear care and medicine- nearly a $200 price difference. Old north end did better at examining her and dealing w fear/reactivity and gave her some supplement to relax her before visits and made a plan for helping her fear of vet- i would give her supplement, walk her there and weigh her weekly to help ease her reactivity when at the vets office- i unfortunately didmt maintain it/ stick to this plan- life got in the way- today i wanted to set up an appt for an annual and updating vaccinations and some "old dog" health questions & went back to orchard to schedule a full vet exam, update vaccinations, just the whole thing and check some issues- i just figured it would be easier to go back to them, since they had more records for her already, had done previous vaccinations and tests- that it just may be more convenient & cost is no longer an issue, so i wasnt worried about their pricing.. Oh my Gosh!!!... SO, i made an appt. over the phone & i asked if they had suggestions to help her w fear coming in- supplements, a sedative, a technique for the appt i had just made- so they could actually check her paws, bumps under skin, etc. since most times it is a drama stressul thing and they cant handle her- the vet that called me back and was SO RUDE. He told me there was no note that she is scared of vets and was caustic and rude, as if I was lying about it--- (her previous vet used to muzzle her and have multiple techs restrain her!) ... I cant BELIEVE how nasty, dismissive, rude and unprofessional I was just treated, when I was just trying to problem solve this upcoming visit, to make sure this upcoming appt was actually efficient/useful and worth the the cost. I feel REALLY shocked and hurt. When I tried to explain my thought process and previous experiences the vet basically told me to take my business elsewhere. Why? Why be so hostile? It was really out of left field and WEIRD. they obviously dont care about customer care, dont care about the animals whole wellbeing, AND hoenstly, on top of it all they are totally over priced. SEEK VET CARE ELSEWHERE. be positive andl and proactive, unlike me, dont settle- ook for a vet that has honest prices, works with you and cares for your pet and your business. I have never been treated so roughly and rudely before at so little provocation. what an awful experience!!! UPDATE: went to a different vet- Old North End Vet, who is amazing. They took so muh care, time and consideration with my dog. We tried on visit #1 to see her- She was waaay too scared and unpredictable, so they sent us home with trazadone to try the second visit- It was still a process, but they did a full exam and work up and were amazing! she ended up diagnosed with Lymes. She was likely symptomatic a long while ago and at the time i had brought her to **Orchard Vet- they couldnt examine her and dismissed limping symptoms as "probably arthritis" and didnt even check for lymes! Anyway....

Even with my GPS, I had difficulty finding the building and (for this reason) was late for at least ten minutes for my senior cat Penelope's appointment. The receptionist; however, was very friendly and she directed me to the building. Almost immediately, I was greeted by a very kind and cheerful nurse who escorted me into a clean examination room. She interacted well with me and my cat. The nurse efficiently obtained lung X-rays of my cat because of her breathing problems. The nurse then returned with my cat, left the room to get the Vet. Dr. John Eustis - accompanied by the Nurse - then comes into the room, takes time to listen to my cat's lungs, then informs me (as I suspected) that my sweet baby has asthma. I was shocked and a little saddened at the "hands off" treatment that I received. Dr. Eustis refused to give me his opinion regarding a course of treatment for my cat. Even though I was referred to this hospital by my Vet, Dr. Eustis could have at least provided an opinion to the question "What would you recommend?" It hurt to be brushed off. Also, this hospital did not forward the X-rays to my Vet as promised. Thankfully, I requested and was given a CD so that I could send the X-rays to my Vet. I must state that the bright spot of the visit was interacting with the friendly receptionist and nurse - also seeing the gorgeous resident cat. I am still puzzled as to why I received the slightly standoffish treatment from Dr. Eustis.

I had a HORRIBLE experience here. I was sent here by my regular vet to have my 15 year old cat's teeth cleaned and examined at the clinic. Our first visit went really well and I read good reviews of the hospital so I decided to go forward with the cleaning. Went I first went in for the pre-check I expressed my concern about his two front canine teeth potentially needing to come out. Upon examination they though it was just staining and not rot. Please note they do not take photos or x-rays of your animal's mouth during the cleaning for your reference. Long story short (comment if you'd like the long version) they removed the two front canine teeth without calling me or telling me. They do ask you to sign a form accepting any charges for tooth extractions when you drop them off for the cleaning..HOWEVER I was extremely clear that I expected to receive a call if anything needed to be extracted or was outside of a regular cleaning. The vet tech told me that I would receive a call but if I was unavailable they would move forward with their best judgement because my cat was under anesthesia. I said I understood and left. I received a call much later in the afternoon telling me he'd be ready in a few hours and they extracted the front canine teeth. I WAS EXTREMELY UPSET. I asked to speak with the doctor on the phone. I didn't completely agree but it was too late at that point. When I went to pick up my cat I was both angry and upset. The tech asked me to check out before seeing the doctor and or my cat. I refused. I spoke with the doctor who did the extractions, Dr. Knox, who apologized and realized how upsetting the situation was due to our prior interactions. She told me her reasons for extracting the teeth. Again without any photos or x-rays it's hard to know. She said he seemed in discomfort when she put the dental tool on his canine teeth, there was some exposed root where the gums receded and the tooth seemed wiggly in the socket. All questionable items in my opinion but I have to try and believe they aren't pulling out canine teeth to try and get money out of you. However my experience checking out made me question that too. Basically they didn't communicate with me about my animal's health when I specifically asked and I find that unacceptable. I was extremely upset and it was extremely jarring to find out after the fact. Additionally when I entered the crowded waiting room and occupied check out counter I wanted to go put my cat in the car where he would be calm and safe. He was still pretty drugged and is sensitive to other animals in general. The vet tech told me I couldn't leave without paying. I explained I was very upset and would rather deal with it later. I also said I wanted to put my animal in the car for his comfort. She grabbed the owner. I then told him I'd like to put my animal in my car and he followed me to the door where he watched me the entire time. It was pathetic. I had already paid these people $350+ for a pre-check. They had all my info and I came from my vet who recommended me. Additionally they had all my info. I was also there for a cleaning. Probably not a flight risk. I talked with him and he apologized, agreed someone dropped the ball and then offered nothing. He asked me again what I wanted and I again stated to deal with this another time since I was so upset and crying for the past 20 minutes. It became apparent he wasn't going to take care of the issue so I suggested a discount so I could just pay him the money he so clearly cared about (not my animal, experience or feelings) and get the heck out of that place. He didn't charge me for the teeth they took out but everything else. What a terrible business owner. He said they'd send all the records to my regular vet. Pretty much "thanks for your money, now get out." They also did not call me once to see how my cat was doing after everything. I called around to three other places that do dental and after comparing I am so sad I took my kitty here. Maybe the teeth did need to come out but I'll never know. Such poor communication.
