Dr. Lester is incredibly kind and patient. Very affordable care compared to other establishments. She takes the time to explain and reassure the pet owner. My dog rarely feels comfortable with unknown people and went easily with Dr. Lester so that says more than enough for me.

Intelligent, HONEST, kind, warm approach to both you and your furry friend. Will never oversell. Undercharges, if anything. Will never go anywhere else.

Friendly staff, family atmosphere, our new dog was really at ease while we were there. We weren't pressured to do anything at the initial visit. Tons of education from the vet which is invaluable to us as new pet owners. I can't thank Dr. Leister, Dr. Gerbino and they're wonderful office staff for making us and our dog Savannah feel so welcome!

Horrible experience. I dont know why my parents keep coming here. Had an appointment at 9:30 and I'm still waiting no one is checking in and they completely ignore us. The vet in charge of this practice should be ASHAMED at her self for the poor quality of a "Vet Office" I wish I had 0 stars HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

Amazing staff. Everyone there is so nice to me. Especially this little boy named Zack or jack I forget which one but he was very polite. And I asked what he was doing working there cause he was a bit young, he replied with “I’m just trying to earn a little money so I can buy all the food and toys my dog would like”.

Great place to trust the care of your pet with. Dr. Leister is outstanding. Very good staff, very pleasant and compitant. Believe all the well deserved 5 star reviews!

We adopted a dog a few weeks ago during quarantine through a rescue in Brooklyn. We were required to see a vet in Brooklyn in order to finalize our adoption, to which our pup tested positive for giardia. The Brooklyn vet provided us with meds and told us we needed to have his stool tested in two weeks, leading me to start looking for a vet in the Smithtown area. After researching on Google, we decided to give Dr. Leister’s office a call for an appointment; seemed like a great establishment for our new dog. HOWEVER, after reading all the positive reviews I just had the most baffling 30-second phone call with the receptionist. When I called, I said I would like to make an initial appt for a dog we just adopted. The receptionist unenthusiastically replied, “We have no appts for a few weeks, we are booked.” I then barely got the words “Okay, I just have a ques—“ out of my mouth before she completely cut me off and rudely replied, “Take him to animal hospit—“, cueing the hang-up beeps. She was so quick to hang up on me that she even cut herself off. My jaw just dropped and I was so caught off guard by this interaction. She did not even know what I was going to ask and I can’t even think of the last time someone was so rude. Insanely unprofessional. We called another vet nearby right after and were KINDLY given an appt for four days later. Who is this receptionist?! If this was my veterinary office, I would be very unhappy with the front desk.

As always, Dr. LEISTER AND STAFF ARE AMAZING!! ALWAYS CONCERNED ABOUT YOU AND YOUR PET. I WON'T TAKE MY DOG ANYWHERE ELSE

Called to see if could get my dog looked at. And who ever answered the phone was very rude and yelled were not seeing new people and hung up right away very unprofessional and very rude

I have been going to Dr. Leister BEFORE she even took over ownership of this practice. I love her down home nature, her love of all animals, and her "reality" of quality of life for our pets. Dr. L will never suggest expensive tests or meds unless she believes it's truly a good option. Dr. L is easy to talk to, she takes her time with questions and is extremely compassionate...Especially at end of life. I often joke with her that I will always have a pet as long as SHE is around to be my Vet!!

We have been going to Nesconset Animal Hosp. for the last 11 years. Unfortunately we just had to put our dear dog down. I can't say enough about Dr. Mary Leister and her team. The care and loving we had over the years was top notch. They always made us and our dog feel comfortable. The absolute sympathy, caring and accommodations they provided my wife and me at a difficult time was bar none amazing. It's not always you find a Doctor choked up and tearful when you have to say goodbye to your beloved pet but Dr. Leister and her team cared as much as we did. They really care about the animals and families they work with. They will always be our family Veterinary Center. Thank you Nesconset Team.

Being fairly new to the area, I called to schedule an appt. for my cat, who seems to be having an upper respiratory issue. Whoever answered the phone could not have been nicer. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 and limited appts. available, they are not seeing new patients at this time. As I said, she could not have been more lovely. She made some suggestions for offices to follow up with as well. Sorry it didn’t work out.

I absolutely love this animal hospital! I chose it because it was close to home and had really good reviews and thank god I did. My cat was diagnosed with kidney disease three years ago. Dr. Gerbino and her staff have been taking care of my cat since this day and her kidney levels have actually improved since the start of her treatment. Thank god for these incredible ladies, they are so kind and I would recommend them to anyone!

Dr Mary and staff were great with our dog Ella! They are friendly, compassionate and helped us to get through our loss! They took care of her for many years! Thank You!

I have been going there for 6 years now and not only are all the doctors amazing there support staff are just as amazing!!!! I’m lucky to have found them!!!! Also there prices and knowledge is off the charts great!!! No matter the issue ur dog/pet is in great hands!!!!! Thanks for always taking good care of Nala!!!!!
