We are new clients there and we are so happy. Our new puppy has been treated so well b the staff. Everyone has been very warm and welcoming and the Doctor takes his time with your appointment.

Everyone in the office is so pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. Awesome first visit!

Most unprofessional business I have been to in awhile. I thought all the barbers in Smithtown and St James were shady but this place is on a new level. When you question what they say, they hang up on you, until they tell you that you're no longer welcome there even though the cause is their fault. Their business phones don't work and they blame you then say "oh we're getting out phones checked / fixed". Speaking with the "Dr" on the phone is like being talked down to by a immature bully. It's clear he's not very professional and I questioned even bringing my dog back there. It's like a shady mechanic, you go in with one problem and leave with many. Honestly these people are a dime a dozen anyway, so I'd avoid this place like the plague that it is.

The Only reason that I am giving Saint James animal hospital 3 stars is because the staff is amazing! I had never Owned a dog before and they were patient kind and caring. Doctor Starr on the other hand's, is another story. When my puppy had an issue, he was quick to diagnose him without Any diagnostic tools and he was very dismissive and condescending. Needless to say, I will miss the staff but not him.

Dr Star and his entire staff treated our family with respect, expediency and devotion to animals. I was referred to St James Animal Hospital by the puppy store I purchased my 2 puppies. One of my puppies was seriously ill with Parvo, a disease not easily survivable. Dr Star and his team diagnosed Rosie as having Parvo within minutes. He made arrangements for her to be admitted to a wonderful Emergency Hospital immediately.He also gave us his cell phone # for any questions we might have. . Dr Star spoke w the doctors at the hospital and each day and called me to keep us apprised of her progress. Dr Star guided me through her transition home and the protocols with respect to separation from her brother.. Even though St James is almost an hour from our home, I have and will continue to use St James Animal Hospital for the care and treatment of my puppies. Definitely worth the trip!

If you bought your puppy at puppy experience do not go to this vet. They clearly have some sort of agreement that you will go here for the puppy plan they have. It’s a total scam! Paid over $1000 for the vaccines for my puppy, I called to see the price at other vets and they said all the vaccines would run maybe $300-$400 maximum! Insane! Do not let these people scam you

Truly the best vet around! So accommodating and friendly. Always available for emergencies 24/7. Very knowledgeable and staff is absolutely wonderful.

Been coming for about 2yrs with both my dogs. Staff is always friendly and treats my pups as their own.

Dr. Star and his staff are always friendly and courteous when we visit. I have 3 dogs, 1 of which we rescued last year and needed a lot of attention. Dr. Star always goes over the procedures he performs in detail and asks if I have any questions.

Get going there for years for the wellness of my dog. They are professional and discuss all that is going to be done. I have no complaints with service.

I thought Dr Star cared I truly did but at the end of the day my puppy had snatched my older pups bravevetco , I called him I was super upset and his response ....bring her to pet emergency center ??? first they put me on hold for 1/2 an hour I called back and said I’m still waiting my puppy could b very sick I was told he doesn’t have the equipment to take care of her ? What vet doesn’t have emergency equipment , they wanted nothing to do with my pup so I called my old vet and he was awesome and he told me to watch her and she had not one side effect but ty Dr Star for NOT being there for us..I guess as the girls at the desk told me he stays up all night playing video games & I guess that was his priority , tg Jeffrey took care of her ...so I’d think twice , they’re lovely in the beginning but when you really need him , he won’t be there for you ...honestly I give him no stars except the ladies in the office are very nice , it would have been nice if even spoke to me on the phone , it was closing time...thank God she’s ok ...I would have not given any stars the one I did is for the girls ...I love my pup’s they’re too precious for me to have a vet that doesn’t care so they lost three pups today ...have fun with the video’s your front desk told me u play all night

I was the first appointment only to wait 20 minutes and was not given a time when we were going to be seen. Also, for the amount of money that I was going to be charged for 1 dog, I was able to get 2 dogs their yearly vaccines. Overpriced and inconsiderate.

The staff are amazing here the girls are sweet and accommodating as possible dr star is an awesome doctor and surgeon....Eiffel loves coming to visit

If I could give more stars I would. Dr. Star has always gone above and beyond for Oadie. He has always returned the phone calls to the emergency line every time i called it, goes above and beyond explaining the medication Oadie is on for seizures, answers any questions we have no matter what. He also called the pharmacy I go to today because pharmacy staff were being idiots. I drive 35 minutes to bring Oadie to see Dr. Star since I live out in eastern Suffolk. I would never think about bringing another dog anywhere else.

5 Star again. Office personnel always so nice and greets you and your fur baby.. They are all great with your fur baby. All personnel, and Dr Star answer all your questions and do a thorough check-up.

Dr. Star and his staff go above and beyond for their furry patients. The environment is clean, warm, and very friendly. I am a first time dog owner, and was extremely nervous and had so many questions. Our puppy Louie was diagnosed with Kennel cough, and Giardia. The staff listened attentively to our concerns, and gave us the information to put us at ease. When i had concerns about Louie being sick, i was able to call Dr. Star after hours, and have him evaluated. Since recieving care, Louie has blossomed, and is healthy and as playful as ever. I 100% recommend St James Animal Hospital and Dr. Star to any animal parent looking for a great vet!
