Staff very helpful.director very efficient

I have never had a problem with Irondequoit in the past. The staff has always been caring and professional. However, lately, I can never get an appointment for my cats. I have had to book their yearly, two months out, which is ridiculous. I have attempted to reach out for an answer, but I have yet to receive a response. This can't just be because of Covid, because even during the lockdown, I was able to get a reasonable appointment.

Friendly and experienced support staff and amazing Doctors. Even during these adverse and difficult times. Hats off to these amazing people. I have been going there since 1978 and never had a problem.

After years of great service I was turned away for my pups boosters, we usually go every 3 years. I was told I am no longer a penitent and would need to find a new vet. It was honestly really sad and they didn't seem to care at all. I know most of the staff on a first name basis and they turned me away like it was nothing. We only come for boosters so I guess we have to find another vet because unless you come for more than that they will not hold you a place. Very upsetting to see a great vet turn into a money oriented operation.

We love taking our pups here. We trust that their needs are taken care of in the best way. Appointments are prompt, and staff is incredibly friendly.

Our dog gets medicated dog food that must be authorized by Vet who has told me she'd be on this food for life.. So it's really concerning knowing this, that they would deny an authorization to get that food! Even Chewy.com who fills the order finds this unacceptable; she's been on this food for a few years now-so what's the problem? These are tough times & I don't need to spend money at a Vet just to be told my dog is healthy. But now that Irondequoit Animal Hospital has denied her medicated dog food, she may now experience discomfort thanks to THEM. This is a HUGE RED FLAG. I don't agree with these practices and no one should! We're looking for a new Vet who aren't affiliated with these people.

I have been bringing my dog here for 11 years and have also had a great experience. The doctors are all wonderful and even call after hours. Colleen at the front desk is by far the most friendly and helpful person ever. She has helped me numerous times in emergency situations with my dog and is always friendly and compassionate. Thank You !!

I called about flea treatment and they refused to even give me the name of what they prescribe in the office. Very rude since my cat has been there before.

i called last week at 635pm that it was time to end the suffering my dog was starting to experience. you knew she was in stage 4 from cancer an i told you that she just had 3 seizures. the person said she talked to Straka and was told she was on hr last patient and call emergency vet. i did and they had no vets on duty. i called you back and told you this. at 645pm. she said straka still refuses. i could have been there in less then 10 minutes. by the end of that call i had 3 people calling any vet. all were closed. it is a 15 minute procedure to end her suffering but straka showed her true compassion. My girl had 14 seizure's before a vet actually showed at my home early in the morning. Bottom line we asked for 15 minutes past closing and you refused. Where is your compassion? I do not want to hear any fake compassion from you now. .

I had to take my kitten to see Dr Bunkenburg for an urgent care appointment and she was wonderful. Everyone in the office was very nice and helpful. Laurie and Plum

Once this establishment was excellent. Now not so much. Both of my dogs are very sick and each time I called they could not get them in. They instructed me to use an online veterinarian. I did this and my dogs were diagnosed with Kennel cough. I was told the virus was self limiting and should resolve. 3 days later my dogs continue to decline. I called irondequoit animal hospital and the rude front desk staff told me since they do not have any notes will not treat, and again I could not get in I was advise to take pets to emergency. I explained they were already seen per there direction, and this did not matter. Who does this? My dogs were already examined they are not doing well as expected why not treat? I did everything they told me to do and they still refuse treatment. The front staff refused before even speaking with a doctor. This is not acceptable and I can not believe the disconnect. Meanwhile my dogs are suffering.. This is poor service and I am not ever returning!! This place sucks!!!! I am not sure if the staff is burnt out, but they are rude !

Years ago when I would go here it felt like going to Jiffy Lube with all the add ons they pushed. That isn't the case anymore. Good doctors and good staff, no high pressure sales tactic. Happy to take my dogs and cat here.

The staff are all so friendly and sweet. They take such good care of my dogs. My dogs see Dr. Bunkenburg and when we had to say goodbye to one of our pups, she was the most compassionate and loving. Made the whole terrible process easier. So thankful for this place and recommend them highly

Dr. Straka has taken care of our pets for many years. We trust her judgment. The entire staff is very professional. It is very apparent that they are animal lovers. We have continued to take our pets there, even after moving 30 miles away.

Experienced Veterinarians. Compassionate and are willing to work with their patients human to make the experience as stress free for your animals as well as for their Humans. They offer perks & are the best Vet Clinic in Rochester. The nurses and staff are courteous and knowledgeable. Love this place!!

Our dog needed to have surgery, and her Doctor and staff reassured us that everything will work out fine. I want to say thank you all !!!

Even with all the back up in getting appointments, the staff and Dr. Straka were able to get my dog and cat in. I've been at this vet and with Dr. Straka for 20 years or more. I love the staff and Dr. Straka is very caring and comforting. I've never had a bad experience, even when I had to put my Zoe down. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Dr. Kicera went above and beyond with my dog, even calling a couple times after the procedure to make sure he was healing. Every person that I have dealt with there has been professional and kind.

I don’t know why I didn’t bring my pup here from the beginning. She had her first annual exam yesterday and the Doctor was fantastic. But let me back up… After I had booked her exam, I noticed some sores in the sides her upper lip. I emailed with photos to see if those required immediate attention. I received a phone call within 15 mins from a tech who told me she would make sure the Doc would take a look and she would call me back. One hour later, the tech called back. She relayed information from the Doc that would help reduce the sores and assured me they weren’t serious. They could have probably just squeezed us in to get a visit billed but instead it was handled over the phone. Anyone who saves their customers money are truly service providers you want to stick with. Also, in addition to excellent service and very friendly staff, there is a significant difference in charges billed compared to other Vet offices (who are connected to this group of veterinary clinics).

Irondequoit Animal Hospital is always able to fit my dogs in without hesitation and are very responsive. I have had nothing but great experiences!

Had been with them for 12 years. Terrible service! Not compassionate! We had a vet emergency and were in Mexico and the receptionist was not empathetic and simply said we can't help you call vet emergency. Do not recommend them.

Very friendly and will continue to bring my furry love ones there.
