I love them there, they really care about my fur babies. They will listen to what I have to say, and will guide me in the best choices for my pets. Doc aways gives me the two or three way we can handle my pets health care. He tells me the pluses and minus's of each choice, then asks me what I want to do. I like to know honestly what is best for my pets.

The Dr. is great and everything went well with my first kitty. Very cheap, but trying to get my second kitten in for a nurturing and check up for a bladder infection is becoming a hassle. The receptionist is not good at her job and very unprofessional. This place would get a 5 star if they hired someone who actually knows how to be a receptionist. Told me to call back later that there were other calls coming in… I’m literally a receptionist, you help who you answered first and put others on hold. My kitten can’t wait, there could be something really wrong with him. :/ now I’m going somewhere else.

I never leave reviews but I have to today.. Dr Nelson is god sent. I went there first with my cat who had some issues and not only did he fix it, he was so good to her, very quick, efficient and promising. Now that I have a puppy, I wanted to have Dr Nelson look at him/check him out since the puppy was coming from a bad home and had some issues. I knew I was picking him up a week prior so I called in advance to make an appointment. I tried 5 times to schedule an appointment prior to receiving the dog, it was “I’ll call you back” - no call back, 5 times !!! The last time I got a snap back of “we’re really busy, I’ll call you back” - no call back .. I even requested an appointment online.. AFTER I receive the dog, it had way worse issues than expected so I CALL AGAIN, this time leaving a voicemail, and finally I receive a call back just for the unprofessional snap back to continue.. at this point I have already made a next day appointment with another vet I have heard nothing good about but I am very desperate.. I have expressed this to a couple other people and I was told that they too have stopped going to Helping Paws because of front desk complications but great things are still said about Dr Nelson.. it is very unfortunate and I hope he does not lose any more business due to this matter.

Professional, friendly, caring practice. Dr. Nelson is great with our cat. He has developed an effective care plan that has greatly helped our cats chronic health condition and improved her life. The prices for care are affordable. Highly recommend this practice.

There is False Advertisement about the kitten plan. If you don't have it anymore, take it off your website. The lady giving an atitude when I called cause I'm asking questions.

Dr. Nelson took great care of my kitty Shimuna and helped me feel comfortable when the time came to make the decision to let her go. She was 18. Everyone was so kind. And I was happy a few months later to bring my newly adopted kittens to him to be checked out and get their shots, and then a few months later to get them spayed. I can’t recommend him and his staff more.

2 years ago. Nice people. Took good care of Marty who can be very difficult with strangers. 6/30/21. Marty happens to not like strangers and is especially scared of the vet. Because of this its stressful for both Marty and I, and I dread the visit. The doctor, especially, and his staff were very informative, thoughtful, and kind, making the visit less traumatic and uneventful. (Maybe theres hope for Marty yet). Thank you, and Marty thanks you too!

So glad I switched! Everything about the experience here is what it should be. Got us in straight away even though they were fully booked that day. You can tell they are there for the right reasons!! Thank you!

A GREAT place to go.I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS VET.Our vet was fantastic with our family & especially our breed of dog. My girl really likes our new vet.but my dog dont like her nails or teeth done.& dislikes shots.but our vet is very patient and listens.Thankyou very much for accepting my bossy & loud & talkative anxious girl Midnight!????????The secretary went above and beyond service to provide my girls preventative meds by personally delivering them to me.a couple times when I was in need.and of which im always sincerely grateful and appreciate very much. Thankyou for your service.

I would highly recommend this office. They are absolutely amazing. Starting right at the front with the receptionist. So sweet and made me feel so comfortable bringing our cat there. Dr Nelson was great. I’ve been to a few other vets offices before going to helping paws and I never felt welcome or comfortable. It was always so cold and business like. Dr Nelson’s office made me feel relaxed and like I could trust them completely. Our cat instantly relaxed in the doctors hands when he came in. He actually lay down on the table and didn’t struggle to get away at all. I wish I had known about this office sooner ! Thank you !

I have been staying in Queensbury since early April but am from out of town, so I do not have a primary vet established in this area. My dog Norman had been having issues with an ear infection and we wanted to get him seen by a vet. Most places I called were not accepting new patients at this time. Helping Paws not only took us in but was able to see us the next day! All of the staff was incredibly friendly (from the receptionist, to the vet tech, to the doctor.) It was clear they really care about their patients and Norman loved everyone he met there. The doctor helped me understand potential causes for his infection (likely allergies) and walked me through different treatment options (from least costly to most costly.) The facility was sparkling clean and everyone was wearing a mask so I felt comfortable from a Covid standpoint. I could not recommend this place more. Helping Paws will definitely be our 1st choice should Norman need additional vet care while we’re here.
