This Review is far overdue. The staff here are remarkable Human Healers.???? They selected us to adopt Benjamin ????He’s our whole world and our Soul Dog! This team selflessly serves everyday to the Animals of the Berkshires. We are grateful everyday for them and for the most important thing in our life…Benjamin. Thank you for all that you do and for the lives you save everyday! If you want to adopt, please go visit. These Dogs and cats choose us as much as we choose them????We would give 10 ⭐️ if we could????

We adopted a wonderful kitty and brought her home a week ago. Unfortunately, within a couple of days she came down with a serious respiratory infection which required a visit to the vet and antibiotics. We have no other pets, and considering we had just gotten her from the shelter four days earlier, I feel she either contacted it from another cat at the shelter or someone coming in to look at the animals. Masks are not required at the shelter. I contacted the shelter right away to let them know just in case other cats may have been exposed to the same illness but I never received a call back. I understand that there needs to be policies in place to make sure animals go to safe homes but unfortunately Sonsini has such an extensive application process a staff member told me that it can take up to two weeks for an adoption to go through. Therefore the pet needs to stay in the shelter and wait until the process is completed. Our process took about a week and that is only because I had to be very proactive and advocate for myself. I was told they are understaffed. This delay caused our kitty to be exposed to this infection. I support the no kill philosophy of this shelter but I think a more streamline process to adopt should be in place so animals are not having to be in a shelter environment any longer than necessary to insure they don't get exposed to illnesses.

I adopted my best friend Oliver the pitbull from Sonsini and he has been the best dog a guy could ask for, I really like that they are a no kill shelter!

I donate alot to this shelter pretty disappointing for me to have to say this beyond upsetting & I recommend only because I want animals to have a second chance at a home which i was ready to give....but I am very upset that even after I've donated 6 different times since summer that you can't even stay open 10 mins for me! Even after I called and said I was omw and making my way up as fast as I could ! I was shocked that you were so quick to close and leave if it meant an animal could have a new chance at a home life ! I personally can't just leave and neglect my responsibilities Im a caregiver and have many clients I would never rush out the door on agian those animals stay in a cage All night I would never be that much in a rush to go home and I would work at a shelter also ....I don't even want to donate her now because I'm so upset so I kept my large donation bag and will I guess donate to a food pantry instead I continue to get my chewy order everyone even afrer our cat stopped eating that food 5 monthes ago and passed away and I've been donating that food instead not to mention the dog we really wanted as we can't just adopt any dog you told me you were not listing on site for about 3 weeks due to he was malnourished and needed surgery last week but you listed him.last 1/20/21 night now we will lose that possibility of adoption we didn't even have a fair chance! We wanted and acted on the chance to be able to ???? And you failed to even get back to me also and just rushed a malnourished dog which was adopted without giving me somone also interested a fair chance

Every single experience I have had with this establishment has been negative. I would not suggest this business. As shown below, the staff are unable to understand any constructive criticism which is evident from the replies to negative comments. This only shows the complete lack of professionalism on Sonsini Animal Shelter. This facility is known for holding animals hostage from owners, if they do not agree to comply with them. Its very sad to see because the animals are suffering. Obviously this is not a great concern to the shelter. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE AND DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE FICTITIOUS POSITIVE POST, SOME ARE ACCURATE BUT SOME ARE NOT. This is not a professional business in any form.

We found a dog tied to a fence that wachona Falls and we were able to bring it here, they were wonderful people and we're sure they were going to be able to find it a new home if the owner didn't come get him.

This is a shame. This dog shelter is keeping my friends dog from him who showed proof of ownership and will not give him even with every single paper you will need and then some this place needs to re-evaluate management and employees.

Keeping a dog from his rightful owner who has shown you proof. Shame on you. What Hippocrates!!! You are what is wrong in today’s world!!! Let Xander go home!!!

They don't even deserve one star, my best friends family went in to claim their dog with all of the proper paperwork and he is still sitting In a cage instead of surrounded by all the people who love him.. Xander should be home with his family and none of us will stop until he is home! They're a bunch of scammers and don't care about the well-being of these babies, they just want to make a quick buck any possible way that they can.
