Gloucester Veterinary Hospital Orleans, New York

I have been dealing with the Gloucester Veterinary Hospital since 1990 - many years and a number of cats (8) & 2 dogs over the years. Always great staff, great care and the price is reasonable. I have appreciated the reliable service and care I have always received. Thank-you very much! Highly recommended!

Dr MacLaren is the best, and the front staff are always there to help! Cannot recommend enough for all your vet care, including chronic health conditions and geriatric pet medicine.

Excellent vet. Caring, patient and helpful in making sure everything is properly explained. They always compassionately follow up with us after we have left the clinic for days just to make sure everything is going well They also are excellent at providing options and considering costs. 100% would recommend.

Dr McLaren does such a great job with our cat (even though he hates her). He's gone from having to be examined in a separate room to having everything done super quickly without a fight :) Dr McLaren always has time to listen to any concerns, and the rest of the staff are great, too. The one time I needed a same-day appointment, I was slotted in with no problem. I've gotten advice over the phone and I really appreciate their evidence-based approach instead of peddling whatever trendy pseudoscience is currently making the rounds in veterinary science, like so many other places I had researched do. I'm not sure how the price compares to anywhere else, but it's worth every penny. 2021 update: Got another cat, have been going to this clinic since 2016 now. Still zero complaints! Every staff member has been kind, helpful, and transparent. Can't recommend them enough.

Absolutely the best vet hospital! Dr. Scarlett, Dr. McLaren and the entire team are the best. Very compassionate and accommodating. I would not have anyone else look after my 9 year old Great Dane!

Wouldn't want to bring my pets anywhere else. Not just the Veterinarians, but their whole team is awesome. They are genuine, friendly and patient. Pets can be costly, but I find their prices are very fair and there are no suprise charges. A+ for communication and honesty.

This has been my gonyo Vet for years. Very professional, and very kind at end of life.

I can't say enough about this vet hospital and the staff. They are so caring and they always remember me and my pets. One time I was picking up medication for my cat and they saw my dog in the car and knew I was there for the cat and brought the meds out to my car before I even had to call. It made me feel very special and taken care of. They do what they can to reduce costs, to see your pets when there's an urgent need and they're all always friendly and helpful. Dr. MacLaren is very knowledgeable and thorough so I always feel like I have the most information possible. They're so helpful if you call and have a quick question that doesn't require a full appointment. Honestly, I can't say enough about them.

Dr McLaren is the best. My whole family bring our animals there. It's a wonderful hospital.

Great feed back from Dr. Kristina McLaren. Because of Covid, the exchange was done over the phone but she took great care to explain and the time to answer my question. I also felt very welcome by the reception both when I called and when I show up. 6 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for that place.

The vet at this location misdiagnosed my dog and it cost me thousands of dollars for an unnecessary surgery. When the issue resurfaced just a few months after the surgery the vet suggested amputation. Luckily I got a second opinion and it turns out my dog didn't need surgery at all and he didn't need the original surgery they convinced me was necessary either. When I told the staff about this mistake I didn't get an apology for the lack of education that the vets here have or for putting my dog through a surgery he didn't need. Thinking that I ever trusted these people with my pet makes me sick. Their lack of education and inability to correctly diagnose animals is appauling. These people prey on you based on the love you have for your pet.

We have been with Gloucester Veterinary Hospital since 2010, and through three dogs! They are exceptionally compassionate, professional and affordable. Wouldn't want to go anywhere else!

Recently have been taking my little cat Molly to the Gloucester Vet, and I must that I am so thriled by the service received there! For starters, the clinic was able to squeeze my cat in for two last minute appointements this week. Julie and Colleen, the receptionists, have been nothing but genuine, sweet, caring and informative! Thank you so much ladies! And then, there's Dr Scarlett, who is absolutely amazing! My cat Molly is not at all easy to handle. She's a nervous, hissing and noisy mess when it comes to leaving the house and going to the vet. I found that Dr Scarlett was soft and able to manage her so well! He also was never discouraged and quick to offer us some tips to help her feel better. He is not at all pushy and the priced are more than competitive for the area. Thanks so much to the whole team for such pleasant visits in stressful times! :) oh! And before I forget, the clinic is handling the COVID situation so well! Everything is so clean and organized.

Went to visit Dr McLaren for our new puppy's shots and our 5 year olds boosters and the staff and Dr McLaren were amazing with us and our dogs. Dr McLaren went above and beyond with her explanations and providing us with the needed documentation for our dogs needs. I was Extremely pleased and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this animal hospital to friends and family. They truly care about animals! Great job to all!

Staff were abrupt and not pleasant during my visit, my husband tried to speak with the receptionist at the desk and she put up her hand to silence him, my pet was made to wait 20 plus minutes past our appointment time and they could not provide some services in a reasonable amount of time. This unfortunately was my second unpleasant visit over time and I will be going to a different vet in the future.

Vet and receptionist not on the same page when it comes to health information. I don't feel comfortable taking my pet to an office where the information is not clear.

I've been bringing my English Bulldogs to Gloucester Veterinary Hospital for the last 15 years. Professional, compassionate and reasonably priced and my furkids are always excited to visit!
