I cannot thank the staff at Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center enough for helping our family. We called during a blizzard with an emergency concerning our 17 year old cat and they were very understanding and were able to see him as soon …

I was very very pleased with my emergency visit to this animal hospital. The techs and vet were so amazing and we’re wonderful with my dog! She is very anxious and shy and they knew how to handle her perfectly. Thank you thank you all so much for making sure my baby was okay!!!

Beware- they are skilled at two things. The first is ordering test which prove answers which are unlikely to alter either management or outcome. The second, is itemizing costs that in aggregate add up to an obscene amount. Many of their …

I am not only disappointed, but extremely disgusted by this Veterinary Office. They took advantage of me - and my wallet - during an extremely vulnerable time where our 3 yr old cat was not doing well. I brought her in multiple times, all but 1 time I was charged an emergency fee, even though they were follow up visits regarding the same issue all within days of each other. The Vets here - especially 2 in particular - knew by the large lump on my cats head along with someother issues she was having that things were not looking good. They also knew that I was willing to do anything I possibly could to help save our baby girl, because she was my daughter's PTSD therapy cat and loosing her would be traumatic. They got me for THOUSANDS of dollars. They talked me into all these tests and procedures and medications. I even authorized a surgery to put a feeding tube in our girl, because I was made to believe that it would be helpful, I would be able to make sure she was getting food in when we brought her home. However, she didn't make it home. She passed away shortly after waking up from the anesthesia. This Orchard Park Vet's Office and their doctors knew that our girl was very sick and instead of doing the right thing and letting me know it would be best to take her out of her pain, they saw me as desperate, willing to do anything to get our girl back home to us and they added on all these unnecessary tests, procedures, surgery, misc. fees so that I would pay thousands of dollars (that I do not have - I maxed out all of my credit cards there) knowing that she wasn't ever going to come home to us. They put my sweet, beautiful cat through hell so they could collect a bigger paycheck, and by the looks of other reviews, my family is not the only family that they have taken advantage of or the only animal that they have put through unnecessary, painful procedures. I'm truly disgusted, hurt and saddened by this. I came to you guys trusting that you would help me make the best decisions for my cat, instead, you made the best decisions for yourselves.

Shadow is celebrating his third birthday today thanks to the ANGELS who work here. They were able to help out my boy on numerous occasions and our whole family thanks you all very much.

I brought my golden doodle Ted in on a weekend. He was vomiting. I thought it was GI issues. Dr Springer diagnosed Ted with pneumonia (he was coughing so hard he vomited). He was put on a long course of antibiotics & brought back for re x ray prior to his discharge from care. He’s been fine since. It’s so great to have emergency veterinary care In Our community 24/7. Dr springer was great! This happened in height of Covid so it was a park outside & call from doctor. Dr springer was compassionate and understanding when I was “stressed to the hilt” from taking care of my elderly mom recovering from a hip surgery. Thank you Dr Springer!!! Thank you all for what you do. Sincerely Denise Dix

These people don't care about animals. They only care about money. They are so unorganized and don't know what is going on resulting in fatal mistakes. Don't expect any sympathy either. They literally don't care if they kill your pet. They just want the money. They overcharge and find unnecessary things to charge you for. Make sure when they kill your pet to use an outside funeral home because they will just toss your pet and belongings aside like garbage.

Had to bring my dog Cammie in on tuesday for a emergency appointment. They seen her after arriving within 10 minutes. Kept us updated with multiple phone calls a day. Sadly today we lost our little Cammie but the Drs and ourselves did everything we or they could have. A Big Thank You To All The Staff For Such. A Sad Day In Our Life

We were referred to Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center by our regular vet as they didn't seem to be able to help us. We met with Dr. DiFilippo, she was so informative with our cat, River's, condition. Dr. DiFilippo was compassionate and made sure River was comfortable and handled the situation professionally. Unfortunately River left us. I just wanted to thank the staff that helped us, you all made this hard time easier.

We went in there with a sick hamster last week. Little guy started having seizures. Although they didn't have the "exotic" specialist on call in the middle of the night on a Sunday, they looked at our little guy and helped end his suffering with as much care as I could have hoped for. They were really sensitive to us losing a pet and were willing to see us while other emergency vets couldn't even be bothered. (Like the one on Genesee St.) Then a few days later, we received a condolence card with a small packet of wild flower seeds in memory of our little guy.

We've used this emergency vet in the past with no issues, but this time, they really missed the mark. They missed a bladder infection in a senior dog, which our vet picked up on right away a day later for the follow up. $500 spent to be sent home with useless pain meds. These infections are common in older dogs, and quite frankly, it should not have been missed.

I took my dog into them when my regular vet wasn't being responsive to my concerns. They communicated to me everything that they were doing and why, and they explained his diagnosis and the evidence for it. They gave me a lot of options between intervention to palliative care, and never made me feel pressured to make a decision. The doctor, Dr. Hong, even suggested I call my fiance to discuss the decision moving forward. Dr. Hong was extremely competent and caring, and I felt confident and informed when I left. I returned 2 days later unexpectedly because my dog took a turn for the worse and the entire staff was quick and responsive to getting my dog comfortable. They have a "Rainbow Room" where they bring your pet to you in a low light, comfortable living room setting and give you a button to ring when you are ready to euthanize. They even suggested that we bring our other dog in to say goodbye and witness the process so she would understand that our dog didn't just disappear from the house. They gave us as much time as we needed and took care of all of the logistics and aftercare decisions beforehand so we could leave when we were ready. Even further, the staff called the next day to check up on us and asked if we would like my dog's bed and blankets washed and returned to me when I picked up his remains. This is not the first experience I've had with OP Vet Center, but this is was the most difficult one, and they made it so comforting and peaceful as possible. Thank you so much for everything you've done for me and my family.

I was referred to Dr. Case (Oncologist) for my cat. Dr. Case disregarded my concerns, and misdiagnosed her tumor as a BONE! I knew it wasn't a bone, and pleaded that she check again. Again my concerns were dismissed. By the time that I got a correct diagnosis that this was INDEED an aggressive TUMOR, it was too late to do anything for her. My precious beloved cat was only 5 years old. She died this week, only 2 short months from Dr. Case's misdiagnosis.

They killed my puppy. They were negligent and killed a poor sweet puppy that was barely a year old. I brought her in a month ago and they said she didn't have pneumonia but would treat it as such. They did no further tests to try to figure out what was wrong. For a month I called repeatedly telling them that my dog was still sick they refused to see her and said she was fine. I brought her back in anyway and they did nothing and sent her home again. I brought her back a third time and they said it was too late and I should have brought her in sooner. WHEN I TRIED TO BRING HER IN SOONER FOR A MONTH. They did one more test and killed my baby.

My dog Kali was having seizures, we brought her here and they took amazing care of her. Although I decided to put her down because she didn't deserve to be in pain, the staff was very compassionate. They did an amazing job taking care of my dog and answered all questions I had. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I cannot say enough great things about this facility. Before last week, I luckily had not had to ever use OPVMC but I know people who have that always had good experiences. Last week, my dog had a splenic tumor that ruptured that required surgery and a few nights in the hospital. Dr Hong was absolutely WONDERFUL from the second we met her. She very clearly explained what was going on and what our options were, never pushing euthanasia but explaining it was a possibility. Although my dog was in very poor condition and considered "older" for his breed, they never wrote him off and did everything they could to save him. We were kept updated at every step, and were allowed visitation to come see him which was great. While at one of our visits, there was another dog there that was crying quite loudly, and a tech went in his kennel and just sat with him for about 25 minutes and just pet him and talked to him and calmed him down, that showed me that even though they are busy they show great compassion for all of their patients. My dog is now home and recovering thanks to Dr Hong and Dr Minnier and all of the staff at OPVMC that helped with my dogs care, we can't thank you enough for your kindness and persistence in these tough times. We're awaiting pathology now, but I'm certain they will continue to support us whatever the outcome may be. We thank you so much again!

When my dog was sick, they were the only ones not too busy to see her. They helped medically, emotionally, and heartfelt care. We had to say goodbye to her and they were so supportive and caring. They made the process comforting for everyone. All of the staff were phenomenal.

Took my baby gizmo into this clinic and yes they are pricey but considering they are open 24/7 Monday thru Saturday is obviously going to reflect costs. Gizmo my cat ended up not eating and pneumonia . They were dedicated compassionate outgoing exceptionally communicative on a regular basis. I love the staff doctors and all that are a part of this place I'm on disability and my wife Lisa works full time they even worked with our schedule so I could visit my baby girl gizmo(cat) thank you all for all your doing and have done . Please have a happy holiday season and know that your my first speed dial when it comes to any of my 5 cats as well as my brother's cat. Good bless you all and thank you so very much for your time and understanding and everything else. It's too bad they limit the rating to 5 stars because your phenomenal and deserve an unlimited rating of stars.

My boyfriend and I rushed our cat here late last night, he had severely injured his tail and we had no idea what to do, the people on call were amazing, helpful, and so sweet to our cat. He was in and out within a few hours and we are all currently home in a big cuddle pile all thanks to the amazing staff here!!!

I have been here 4 times via emergency and once for IM specialist (for 2 dogs) insofar. First ER visit the vet was nice, quickly increased meds, and sent us on our way until our IM appointment appropriately. IM specialist was very rude and did not listen to a word we said (literally would ask questions, then as I was answering, she would talk over with me with a suggestive and very incorrect response to her own question, or asked questions I already told her the answer to several times). Rolled her eyes at me when I asked a question, because she seemed to be in a hurry to be done the entire time. If I want to go back to see the other IM specialist I have to wait months again to get in to start over and take the chance that this other one listens/is helpful. Next ER visit with my other dog (bc our reg vet can not get us in for months) and the vet was very nice and she was able to diagnose and order treatment within our time there, but there were other issues with him that they weren’t addressing at the time. Brought him back for a recheck they scheduled at the visit 2 weeks before, and was charged for emergency visit fee. This time we had a different vet that was rude, didn’t seem to like dogs, and was in a huge hurry to get out. Asked her about the mass and the increased edema in his groin, she quickly palpated mass and said “it could be a lipoma” and walked out. Was appreciative that she at least recognized the need to give a second round of antibiotics to be sure the infections were cleared. Brought him back to ER due to worsening fatigue and groin edema, along with occasional vomiting of bile-dr zowoski was fantastic. Very thorough, empathetic, and professional. However she said results would be back in 1-2 days, but when I called 3 days later, the receptionist said i had to wait until same vet comes back to work in 2 days. After a spending thousands out of pocket for just the fine needle aspiration and a ct scan that has to be sent to an outside radiologist to read (and you get charged for this part) but hopefully your dog doesn’t have any urgent going on (the reason we went to ER and couldn’t wait for reg vet appointment) because you just have to wait and hope the vet that saw you in ER isn’t on vacation or doesn’t get sick and call in. Was told by the receptionist that I would get a call from the vet tech by end of call and I have not heard from anyone yet. Very expensive compared to regular vet, but it is expected of a 24 hr animal hospital. Every single vet tech has been phenomenal and very loving with my dogs.

Took our boy to see Dr. Toone (internal medicine specialist) Monday. Their entire team was friendly, professional and helpful. They took the time to listen to our concerns, thoroughly explained diagnostic and treatment options, followed up quickly on diagnostic results. I can't say enough how great the experience was. Dr. Toone and her team are fantastic and I feel that our boy is in great hands - highly recommended! Pet ownership has increased significantly during the pandemic. Meanwhile, fewer people relinquished their pets during that time, so all of the existing and new needed ongoing care. As we worked from home and spent more time with our pets, we've had more opportunities to notice bumps, limps and other ailments that could typically go untreated. Vets were already struggling to meet the pre-pandemic demand, with veterinary schools unable to churn out enough doctors and techs to fill the void. Emergency veterinary care can be a difficult job under normal circumstances, it's nearly untenable during these times. The veterinary staff at Orchard Park are one of the few in the area that provide 24x7x365 emergency services. Right now, the demand for their services and on their limited resources is catastrophically high. I know you are scared, frightened, feeling helpless when you come to their door. They are all doing the best they can. Please try to be kind and patient when talking with them. .

Came in several days ago with my ill elderly dog. The first question I was greeted with by the staff member is, “do you have an appt for your emergency?” I said no. I didn’t know that was a thing. She then proceeded with, “well it will be a 4 hour wait.” Funny.. as I am an ER nurse for humans… generally people don’t make appointments for EMERGENCIES, nor do you advertise your wait time with the intention of turning people away. She was so short and curt. My final straw with this place.

I had to take my cat there on Sunday night, he was diagnosed with vertigo. The girl we dealt with at check in seemed distant and borderline rude. The second young girl that came in was very personable and friendly. Loved the doctor, Mari Amioka!! The check out girl made us wait for just a little too long to cash out. Felt very intentional.
