Have used OVH for over 20 years. I would be lost without them. They are always kind and helpful. I've used other vets and non compare to them. They are my heroes for my furabies.

Worst costumer service I haven’t ever experienced in my life. Who ever is answering the phone should really be fired. I have gotten great recommendations about this place and honestly what a let down. If anyone is a native to Long Beach, I was a patient at Long Island animal hospital on New York Avenue and have lost partial records of my cat due to closing and no responses from the owner/veterinarian which only contained a earwax removal and a perception for anti flea a copy I could get threw the company chewy who filled my kittens perception all other records I have ( spade and vaccines). As per policy they need records to become a new patient makes sense, sadly the moment I opened my mouth to ask if the copy from chewy would suffice I was shut down immediately spoken to so rudely when asking questions well trying to because I was continuously put on hold to get me to hang up!!!!! Only if the women on the phone could stop yelling and me and trying to shove me off the phone and took a second to listen what I had to say maybe things would be different. Even if they couldn’t help me passing me off to be someone else’s problem isn’t right either! So thanks for making stressful situations like going to vet so much worse hope it was worth it for you to strait up tarnishing the reputation of the hard working and talented Dr. B by being disrespectful and having a terrible attitude! Wouldn’t even give a star period

My family and I have been bringing pets to Dr.B for many years. He works so hard and cares deeply for animals. I recently got a new puppy which requires a lot of vet visits for vaccinations and she’s scheduled for a spay tomorrow. He and his wonderful team have been so informative and available for follow up appointments. My puppy is always excited to see them.

They charge a lot for a bad job

Dr B is the best vet

Extremely uncaring. Refused to speak to me when my dog was dying in the hospital in Westbury because she wasn’t up to date on shots. Just want your money. Don’t really care about your pets. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Dr. B and his staff are amazing!!!!! Dr. B is extremely knowledgeable and cares deeply for the animals and clients that he helps. Dr. B and his staff are very friendly and accommodating. Prior to Dr. B, I was bringing my dog to a different vet, who after 3 attempts, couldn't cure my dog of parasites. After one visit to Dr. B she was cured and healthy again. I can't say enough good things about this man and his staff. Dr. B is everything you can ever want in a veterinarian. The fact that some people actually left poor reviews disgusts me because Dr. B truly is the best, and goes above and beyond for his clients. I HIGHLY RECCOMEND Dr.B as your veterinarian if you want your pet to be happy and healthy!

We checked all local vets and he had the highest ratings, along with the beat people skills. We've used the veterinary hospital for over 22 years now.

As a new pet parent, we were looking for a great vet for our new little rescue. My sister has been using Dr. B. for years and sent me there. When we brought him home he had kennel cough. The vets at North Shore (where we adopted him from) treated him well but they’re too far away from me. Dr. B. wanted to be thorough and did a chest X-ray. When I got my bill it was shown as gratis. When I asked he said he wanted it for his peace of mind so didn’t want me to pay. I knew right then that he truly cared about my fur baby!

I have been bringing my special needs dog here for years they are so great to her and it is the only place I can board her overnight. Great service. Also very clean!

Excellent facility and very caring and informative staff! Dr. B is the best vet. I have been to and I would not even consider going anywhere else. I moved far away and still travel back over an hour to see him.

Warning!!!! NOT AN ANIMAL HOSPITAL.. Dont waste your time bringing your pet here in an emergency. They wont see your pet unless they have already been there and know their medical history, have records etc..That is not the definition of a hospital!

I,ve been bringing my rescued cats birds dogs ferrets to dr B for the last twenty years.He is by far the best most principled capable vets there is.He always puts the animals first.I and my flock of rescues are blessed to have found him

NO STARS FOR THIS VET This is a long review BUT Please read this review before you bring your dogs to Oceanside vet. I have used Dr B for years, mostly for annual check ups. etc. Both of my dogs were recently sick for different reasons, weeks apart. Which is when Oceanside vet and DR B's lack of professionalism, knowledge and care for their patients/pet owners revealed itself. I won't get into details , I want to get to the important reasons why I stopped going to DR B 1. First dog sick - 16 yr old chihuahua - yes old dog, but has been healthy his entire life. Stopped eating , etc . They did unnecessary tests (without my consent) , blood work and charged me almost $1000 - was sticker shocked! I am thankful he is still here with me and thriving - back to normal - NOT under or due to DR B's care 2. DR B NEVER called me with the blood results - even after I called 5xs for the results 3. only had the receptionist call me - who is NOT a DR 4. Dog # 2 went back to DR B with hesitation - 11yr old yorkiepoo - she was in excruciating pain in her abdomen - throwing up. 5. blood work - x-rays - injections - sent me home told me to give her a bland diet of boiled chicken and medicine to coat her stomach 6. once again DR B NEVER CALLED ME WITH BLOOD RESULTS - the receptionist told me her pancreas levels were high - she is NOT a dr 7. my dog was still sick - throwing up every day after eating minimal boiled chicken and 1 tspn of baby food 8. I called them every day for 5 days - they told me to feed her less meals throughout the day. the RECEPTIONIST NOT DR B 9. 10 days later- DR B still has NOT called to check up on my dog after I am calling about her vomiting and STILL NO BLOOD RESULTS 10. DAY 11 she throws up blood in the middle of the night 11. DAY 12 I take her to a new vet -ISLAND PARK - DR RATNER who saved my dogs life. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis and gave me meds and special food to treat this exact condition. She is doing so much better due to proper treatment. 12. I called Oceanside vet to tell them I needed my dogs info faxed over to my new vet and all they said was "you are now deactivated from our system". I've learned, I'm not the only one with this exact experience. PLEASE do not bring your dog here for so many reasons- they don't exam your dog in front of you - they bring them in the back and who knows what they are really doing/ not doing - they care about money and only money - the most unprofessional veterinary hospital I've ever seen.

What can I say about dr b? To me and my family he is a saint. The office staff is just beyond wonderful and Jay is absolutely the best. The care they have taken with all my fur babies has always been the best compassionate care you would ever experience. All my babies have actually loved coming here. I would recommend the oceanside veterinary hospital to anyone and always do

Dr B is exactly how all vets should be. Kind, loving, a masterful touch with all animals that makes them instantly comfortable. Prices are reasonable for services rendered and the staff are very knowledgeable and kind.

Dr B, and the staff is great. They are amazing at making a pet owner feeling comfortable and confident with the health of their pet. They are always available, even for the silly questions. They are willing to work with you for the best interest of your animal.

Dr B is dedicated. What Vet would tell you the medicine he's giving you for your pet tastes good because he's already tasted it? All I have to do is mention his name and my dog goes nuts, but not because she doesn't want to go. She howls and runs around in the car when we get there because she wants to go in.

Have been with Dr B for 20 plus years one of the best Vets I have ever worked with. Has a great compassion for your animals both Dogs, Cats or what ever. Treats each pet like it is own, Great staff also !!!!!

I drive here from queens because of dr B, Lucy, and the whole staff. They're amazing!! The last genuine vet, who works tirelessly for the health and wellness of the animals and not to make a buck. Can't say enough good things.

Rude Rude Rude... Can not convey the level of unprofessional treatment just over the phone. I can't imagine bringing my girl to them for anything. Dr Buchalter... No thank you.

I called for prices for care a cat that has shown up around our place, and the staff was so rude on the phone. They clearly don't want or need my business.

We've been taking our Labrador here for about 10 years now and only have good things to say about this place.
