Beware this vet. Unscrupulous, she is not upfront with her pricing and will attempt to push unnecessary procedures.

It was a very sad day when I had to euthanize my little Tinkerbelle. They were very kind and compassionate. Many thanks to the doctor and staff for helping me through a very painful experience

We have 2 vets: one for when we’re in Toronto at school and one for Niagara. We called them for an appointment to get the kennel cough vaccine and were clear when we told them that he was ALL up to date on his other vaccines so that’s the only one he needed. Called our other vet to send over his files and everything. We get there and the receptionist Shannon takes him in and we confirmed that he only needed that one kennel cough vaccine. The vet calls us and says “we gave him his kennel cough vaccine and updated ALL of his other vaccines as well”. So we were in shock and it turns out the reception SHANNON told the vet that she came out again and asked us if we wanted to update his other vaccines because they were due at the end of the month and it would be more cost effective. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN. They gave him VACCINES WITHOUT OUR CONSENT!!!!! The vet also went along with his appointment without his file from the other vet. Our dog had had the other vaccines updated 3 weeks prior to that! Luckily our dog is 100+ pounds so he won’t overdose or have any other critical effects. Dr. Davidson talked to us after our appointment for a lengthy amount of time and was also SHOCKED about Shannon’s dishonesty. Very unprofessional receptionist. So BEWARE!!!! Ask to speak to the vet prior to your dogs examination to ensure they administer the proper vaccines and tests.

Not the kind of vet I'm looking for. Called in about my dog who may have eaten some ibuprofen. Asked to speak to a vet, but just couldn't I guess. Because what they want you to do is bring your dog in first and THEN, they'll give you relavent information, this way it's chargeable. I was given the impression that they could run a test and see if she ingested enough to hurt her ..turns out they can't. The options were leave her at a different clinic for 2 days overnight on a drip pre-emptively, or get baselines from her now, and wait to see if she has any symptoms and then bring her back in for more baselines. So, basically, it's wait to see if she has symptoms. I could've done that at home before taking half a day off work and saving myself the 110$ "examination" fee. She was in there for two minutes and THEN I get a call from the vet saying there's no test for that. If I had gotten to speak to a vet or someone who had any knowledge (I'm fine with people not knowing everything or being a new employee) this whole ordeal would've been less stressful and saved me 200$+. I also asked if we could do my dogs other appointment (was in a few days) at the same time since im all ready here, and was told no, they're different kinds of appointments...(just needed some pills). When I asked what I was being charged for since she was in there for 2 minutes and the vet did literally nothing, in was told "your being charged for the vets time". To an extent, I get that. But if I had gotten to speak with someone with proper information I wouldn't have been there. And, it takes some nerve to charge a customer when you did absolutely no work. Just seems like the kind of place that wants your dog in the room before they tell you anything so they can charge you. Not what I'm looking for. I'll be finding a new vet.

So far they have taken care of my kitten for his first shots and checkup and they have also spayed my other cat. Very professional and knowledgeable staff including reception, techs, docs, etc. Prices were average for the area, no crazy surprises while also not being so cheap that you question the care your pet recieves. Gave a wellness call after the spay to check in on the cat and remind us of what to look for as well. Overall very thoughtful, skilled, and competent staff and we will definitely be back.

No matter how you need emergency doctor for your dog , this clinic won't accommodate you. I won't recommend this clinic. It's frustrating to find a clinic when your dog is trembling uncontrollable and this clinic don't even care to look your dog!!

Dr.Sherry takes her work serious and it shows. She is dedicated to animals and that is why I trust and respect her with mine. She went above and beyond in a situation that proved she genuinely cares for animals which is why I'm writing this. For those reading I switched vets that I was with for 10 years to her. Her staff is very informative on how the appointment went - my previous vet wasn't nearly as informative on my pets health or how the appointment went. Overall I have great things to say about this vet.

Hairballs in my cats are a big problem. One was vomiting regularly, was sick for 2 weeks. He finally vomited a huge hairball. My other cat started vomiting and had bad diarrhea. turns out he threw up a big pile of hairballs all because I put his pill in the hairball remedy gel to help him swallow it. He was cured instantly. I'm surprised the veterinarians never seem to mention this as a reason for vomiting.

Dr. Merge and his staff are very knowledgeable and caring. I have been bringing my cats to Dr. Mergl for years. He is compassionate and very thorough in his analysis and treatments. I can’t say enough. I always feel that my pets are in great hands when I bring them here. I trust the doctors and their expertise. Thank goodness for doctors like him. Recommend highly.

I was impressed with the fact that they collected so much information about my bird prior to the appointment. Dr. Sherry Davidson was very friendly towards me and my bird, very knowledgeable about avian husbandry and devised a clear treatment plan. I appreciated the follow up call I received to see how my bird was doing on the prescribed medication. I have to say that all the staff I interacted with were friendly and compassionate. Although I did find my consultation a little bit pricey, I would definitely recommend this veterinary clinic to others. On a final note: it is nice to have an avian vet in the Niagara Region as avian vet care is difficult to come by and so necessary. Thank you Niagara Falls Animal Medical Centre!
