The vets themselves seem to be great and quite thorough, but this place is really frustrating to deal with. The front desk staff are slow and not very professional - I've had to call multiple times for a script to be filled and they gave me incorrect information. They move super slowly for check-in and check-out. There's always a random "biohazard waste disposal" charge which I would HAPPILY throw away anything they actually need thrown away myself, at any trash bin on the corner or in my own apartment. An annual visit will run you at least $300 (~$120 for the vet's time [20 mins] and another $180 for the heartworm test) and that's without vaccines.

The staff is amazing. Loved the veterinarian. Everyone was so polite and professional. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I adore my furbaby's vet! The staff are courteous, kind, and work expeditiously. The Vets are gentle with the animals and very knowledgeable in their craft!????

Expert vets who have seen it all and will always take your call within minutes. It’s so nice knowing they’re in the neighborhood and can handle anything whenever you need. They aren’t open 24 hours but someone is always by the phones. A bit on the high end price wise but that’s par for the course with vets. Nice waiting area and very kind receptionists who go above and beyond! My pup loves it here.

Doctors and facilities are great. Service could be improved - emails are not always answered and appointments always run late.

Wonderful, professional, kind and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my shih tzu rescue. After going to a few other vets when we first received our fur baby, I always felt uncomfortable as if she wasn’t getting great care. Everyone I’ve met at West Chelsea has always been wonderful and kind and they never oversell anything. I feel they put my fur baby first and make everything Easy for me. Grateful to have found them and been there for 6 years!

Grate doctors for my fury children. They are very tender and humane with them. We really like Dr. Canales and Dr. Gayer

Dr Klain at West Chelsea is an absolute gem. He’s thorough, compassionate, professional, responsive and the best vet in nyc for my money. My dog adores him and the only way I can get him to come sometimes is to tell him we are going to see Dr Klain. My dog has Addison’s disease and Dr Klain works with me to keep my dog happy and healthy. I am so fortunate to have him for a vet. This is a very well run place. All staff in addition to being very competent are very nice. I live quite a distance but it’s worth the trip. I am so grateful for everyone there.

My dog receives better care here since we moved to NYC than most doctors I've had over the course of a lifetime. We are extremely happy with the attentiveness, warmth, and transparency that the staff here conducts themselves with. Thank you!

West Chelsea Vetrinary is (in my opinion) one of the best veterinary hospitals in the city. All veterinarians are top knotch. Dr farber is by far as the rest of their team one of the in-tune, intelligent, friendly and caring Dr.'s out there. Their entire staff are beyond welcoming even during covid. They take extreme measures which is very comforting. While at the same time allowing you to still be comfortable while not in the room or area. They setup an area outside of entrance so one you are not in close contact with other humans or their pets and very very limited ppl in sitting area. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a veterinary hospital.

I truly cannot say enough good things about West Chelsea Vet. Every single veterinarian at this practice is kind, caring, and passionate about what they do. They have taken such great care of my pup when she has had medical issues (including one that was emergent) and always make sure I understand what’s going on. They are the best!

I was very nervous about my dog's first dental cleaning, mainly because of the risks associated with anaesthesia. I scheduled his dental with Dr. Halligan and everything went so well. The staff called me in advance to provide feeding instructions for the night before. Dr. Halligan was very empathetic in understanding my apprehension and provided assurance and explained how they monitor heart rate and other vitals throughout and can adjust medication at all times to ensure anesthesia goes smoothly. My dog now has super clean teeth and I am a happy dog mom! :) Thank you Dr. Halligan and West Chelsea vet.

I just had my first appointment since I recently moved to this area! Doctor Chen was very nice and knowledgeable and all the nurses so nice and friendly! Really loved the place and my dog was super happy and not scared at all even after the visit...he didn’t want to leave and pulled me to get back inside haha very happy with the new vet!!!

I've been bringing my pets to West Chelsea for over 10 years now. EXCELLENT and truly compassionate veterinary care, beyond par!! As a dogwalker/petsitter, I always refer my clients to West Chelsea Veterinary, anytime I'm asked to suggest a good vet. They did an incredible job on my cat Alastor, who's collar had embedded in his neck, causing a massive infection. They literally saved his life!!!

Have trusted West Chelsea with my dogs health for a decade. I have recommended them to my family and friends and their pets have become patients. I have always felt they treat their patients with the respect, dignity, and the care you would expect of any human doctor.

Vets and techs are great. Unfortunately the prices are heart stopping. So 4, not 5 stars Also, you can't go in now. Corona.

We don't live in NYC but visit frequently and WCV is the ONLY place we'd take our pup Dwight. We live outside of the US so every time we leave we take him in for his international check-up & papers. The requirements for the paperwork can be very convoluted but Dr. Farber & Liz take all the guesswork out of it! We've also brought our buddy in for other issues like a recent knee injury and they did an awesome job of diagnosing it and referring us to Blue Pearl for a successful surgery. Everyone at West Chelsea Vet is so nice, caring and compassionate and it's the only vet that Dwight actually runs toward instead of away!

The best Veterinary Hospital in NYC. My dog loves go there! They are very efficient.

These guys are lovely and they have sorted all my papers for my kitty’s first international travel.Absolutely the smoothest.I just needed to take her there, instead of running around like a mad rabbit trying to sort and Fedex the papers myself.Very professional and pleasant:)
