Great care and professional service

I took my elderly cat here for end of life care. She was well taken care of by the staff and Dr. Jan. They were knowledgeable and supportive. I was very pleased with the care both my cat, and I, received by everyone at Midtown Animal Hospital.

I highly recommend Dr. Jan. He was very sweet and my new puppy was comfortable with him. The staff is very kind and helpful. Pricing is good.

Dr. Suchanek has excellent clinical judgment. He is so intelligent and you can trust his clinical curative recommendations. Dr. Suchanek knows just when to intervene and when to leave things to heal naturally. His office is clean, organized and well-functioning. The care is prompt. We walk miles just to come here for care.

I went to take my dog to the hospital since she was acting strange and slow, the hospital wanted to charge me 5k+ to do an emergency surgery(which they did not explain), as it was the only option. I decided not to go through with it and risked it, called her vet, which was closed, ASPCA was booked, until one of my friends recommended Dr. and his clinic, I called and explained the situation, he went out of his way to book me for the next day and called the animal hospital. After seeing my dog, Dr. Suchaneck provided antibiotics and said that if she gets worse to bring her in, he was very detailed as to what my dog had and what the options were for her. Overall, he was very detailed, quick and really cared about my pet. I would highly recommend his clinic. Hands down best customer service and great experience.

Dr.S and staff helped me with both of my cats both well and when they were older and ill and when I had to put my dear sweet kitty to sleep he came to my home and helped me deal with the sadness and grief of loss. They are all wonderful

He had no complications when he got neutered and was well taken care of when I went on vacation. I am satisfied with the medical and boarding services my pet received. I toke my puppy here as the pet shop recommended to do health examinations and to take vaccine at this vet. My puppy was experiencing sneezing and diarrheas caused by parasites and they gave detailed instructions on how to take care of him as well as the medicine. Everyone I encountered at this vet is very friendly and I hope my pup can get well soon.

My dog was bitten in a nearby dog park. Despite not being my vet it was the closest. These people took us right away. The care and concern by all staff was amazing. In the end the bill was under 600$. I find this to be quite affordable for the service we got; sedation, anesthesia, sutures, antibiotics, and pain meds. This is my new vet!

Dr Jan is loving and caring to both my dogs who are 13 and 10. he is thorough in his exams, explains everything he is doing and does not recommend unnecessary medications or treatments that other drs do. we love him !

If i could post a ZERO star rating i would, the Vets do not care about anything except $$$ they don’t care about the well being of your pets. The final straw is when my dog ate an box of his medicine while i was at work and when i called midtown animal hospital they said “the vet says you should call the 800 number on the back of the box”. Do not take your pet here! I switched vets and could not be happier i did so!

A good veterinary service. Expensive.

When I got my basset hound, Daphne I took her 3 times here to get cured from kennel cough and worms. I was so impressed that I entrusted them for her spaying operation. Now a year later, she is a healthy and happy dog, mostly because of their expertise.

They are super friendly and very good with pets. A little on the pricey side but I wouldn't say unreasonable

Dr. Suchanek and his staff have been caring for our cats since 1992. They have always treated our friends with competence, kindness, and respect. They are also helpful with things like how to give medication to your pet and filing pet insurance claims. I took my dog here for the first few months out of recommendation from the puppy store we got him from. In the beginning they were very helpful and understand and would listen to our concerns. Although, we did schedule him to get surgery to be fixed here.. we figured we knew it was going to cost a little more here but this vet has been with our puppy since day one and our Pup needed special attention because his neutering was a little more complicated and required a specialist. The day before the surgery nobody called to remind us or give us instructions so I called to confirm and they were like yes he is scheduled and they gave me instructions. The day of we went to drop off our pup and WE reminded him that he needed a specialist.. the doctor forgot that our dog required a specialist?!? How do you schedule a surgery for a dog and then not read their information prior? They proceeded to tell us they would just keep our dog overnight until they actually found a someone to do the surgery.. and that they forgot he needed special treatment..we told them no thanks and took our dog home. when I called to get our pups information transferred to another doctor the receptionist gave a lot of attitude. I was very upset with this whole thing we will not be taking our dog back there ever, it seems like they just want to keep getting appointments and making money, and do not care about your pet.

Dr. Suchanek is truly a fantastic vet. He is kind and extremely helpful! His staff is very friendly and accommodating as well. I can always count on his office to help with my many animals (cats and dogs)

I've used Dr. Suchanek for over 30 years and was always pleased. Times change, things change, sometimes for the good, but sometimes for the very bad. His staff is new. I boarded her twice at the hospital. The first time was wwith the old staff, second time the new one. She was very unhappy when I picked her up the second time and never boarded her there again. I took her recently to get her teeth cleaned and I brought home a dying dog. Severe infection and heart murmur. BluePearl Hospital managed to save her life in ICU and rid her of the infection, but on Thanksgiving morning she died of a massive heart attact. For her to come home with heart issues, someone did something so very wrong. One veterinarian suggested it was too much oxygen. This was a tiny Tcup 3 pound Maltese that no one should have worked on except the doctor himself. My dog was murdered and my heart has been ripped out. Before having her teeth cleaned she was unbelievably healthy. Blue Pearl ran a battery of blood tests, every blood test possible, even urine tests, and she was 100% perfect. She had so many more years left, but the incompetence killed my precious baby. Right before I rushed her to BluePearl Dr. Suchanek had the nerve to charge me $700.00 to make a futile attempt to figure out what was wrong with her. His hospital damaged her and he thought it was alright to charge me. Karma is real. My baby suffered terribly.

After at least 35 years using this vet for my pets, he upped his prices/ would not give me any kind of consideration, being a senior on social security. If you have lots of bucks - lots of lucks. God of Mammon is his God. Good luck - Hasta Lavista Baby! Pray for compassion and love - sorely lacking!

So happy I found this vet and decided to try them out! Highly suggest if you are in the neighborhood looking for a realistic vet that doesn't want to nickel and dime you just because you walked in the door. My experience was fantastic. While the building is old for sure, I didn't mind. It's more about the quality of service to me and my dog! I recently moved to NYC from the west coast and my dog was due for annual check up and shots. The vet (Dr Suchanek) was so sweet and down to earth! You can tell he loves animals but is realistic and knows we are all human and life happens. He didn't try and tell me he needed to do any kind of tests or anything just the basic shots she needs when living in NYC. Was so relieved to walk out of a vet without dropping $300+ - especially in NYC! Definitely check them out. I'd say pricing is competitive to other vets in the area.
