I was so pleasantly surprised by this practice, both the front desk and doctor were extremely friendly, very gentle with my skittish cat, and took their time explaining everything to us. The visit was relatively affordable, and they offer a discount for a range of people. They don’t recommend unnecessary treatments or procedures and inform you if something will cost extra. I definitely did not feel taken advantage of like I have felt at other practices.

The best place to take your dog

I love this Vet, super friendly staff and excellent service. The doctor here is not just super experienced and knowledgeable, but truly seems to care about my little girl (dog). I've gone a few times now and the doctor really takes his time, and I'm the only one in there, just one patient at a time, so it feels very safe in these COVID times. The doctor is always available for calls, so it has a bit of a small town/house call kind of feeling within the city. I'm very happy and thankful I can find a doctor I can trust with my little pup. Their prices are also pretty affordable, and they even have discounts!

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Fierman to treat my rescue pup. He is a true UWS gem who operates a small solo practice. He cares deeply about the pets he serves and goes above and beyond to communicate with the owners. Recently, my husband and I were away and we left our dog with family. Of course, as luck would have it, he developed a severe cough and we were worried sick. Despite having a jam packed Saturday schedule, Dr. Fierman made the time to see our dog. He even called to check on him a few days later. His prices are reasonably and your pet will be in very good hands.

Can't recommend Cathedral Dog and Cat Hospital enough. Sylvia and Dr. Fierman were simultaneously totally professional while remaining incredibly kind and thoughtful in very personal ways with me and my cat. This industry can be immensely bruising in how transactional it can feel to concerned pet owners, this hospital felt very caring and respectful.

Such a wonderful family vet. I moved to this practice after my other vet wouldn’t see my dog at short notice with an eye infection. Not only did Cathedral Dog and Cat squeeze me in (at the end of the day - staying late!), they gave my dog a full examination and not only treated the infection, but gave me advice that has made a significant difference to his food sensitivities. The best vet I’ve found in NYC!

My cats love Dr. Fierman's calm voice, gentle touch and rewarding scratches behind the ear when they're being good. They just chill out on the table and don't want to get back in the carrier. His assistant Sylvia is wonderful with them too, so caring. It's obvious what lovers of animals and their welfare they both are.

Dr. Fierman is an amazing vet. He is calm, collected and thorough with treating our beloved pets. We've been coming to him for more than 8 years and so happy his practice is in the neighborhood.

Just went there for the very first time today. Very patient and caring family like Doctor and Nurse. You can tell they really care about animals and their owners.

Went there for my cat several times. Every time the doctor and nurse were very caring and considerate to my inquiries(even very stupid ones). They have a very homey atmosphere.

This is the best vet I have been to, ever. The whole staff is kind, careful, and attentive. Even the dog enjoys coming back (he tries to head in this direction if we're in the neighborhood). I highly recommend using them for your vet needs, I wouldn't consider switching out of here.

While friendly, costs are about 30% more than comparable vets in Manhattan. $85 for a visit, $40 for booster, $50 for fecal test, $75 for 4Dx blood test.

Friendly staff, knowledgeable Dr., and thorough examinations are the norm. These people care about your pet and you -- old-school service at reasonable prices.

Love this place!!! Very caring doctor who will take the time to answer your questions and gently handle your pet. Awesome staff who are knowledgeable and courteous and will return your calls. Wish more veterinary places were like The Cathedral Dog & Cat Hospital!!! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

I'm usually way too lazy to write reviews. I have been taking Clementine, my cute little mutt to Dr. Fierman since we got her from rescue 8 years ago. Dr. Fierman and his assistant Sylvia Colon are two of my favorite people ever! They are great with the routine stuff and have been there for us when Clementine has had more complicated issues. I moved out of the neighborhood a few years back, but I still take Clementine up to 101st Street for help.

They are always so nice and absolutely love the animals. So happy we found this vet.

You can tell that they really care. It's a small practice modeled after family medicine, meaning that they make themselves available by phone 24/7 and take a real personal interest in the animals. They were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would absolutely go back there.

I LOVE THIS VET - THEY TREAT YOU LIKE THEY ARE A PEDIATRICIAN'S OFFICE (AND ALL OF OUR PETS ARE OUR BABIES SO WE LOVE THAT!) Dr. Fierman treated our cat for a few years and was as gentle as could be. The only reason we stopped going was because we moved. I think the animals love his low register voice. Our cat was very picky about vet trips but always behaved for him. We never had any real complications for the four years we saw him so we never had to go for specific treatments so i can't speak for that. See if he offers a discount for any orginization you are affiliated with. Our new vet is great, but we do miss the calming presence of Dr. Fierman.

This vet is a dream!! Ever since moving to the city 4 years ago, I've been on the hunt for a great vet. Finally found it! They are a very small, intimate office that takes their time and provides lots of love for your pet. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are very upfront about them before things even happen. They also provide discounts to students, *artists*, and many other folks!! Being small has its drawbacks - as per some of the older reviews - but I love being a part of the "family" now and am so happy to have found them!! =]

For a first time dog owner like myself, Cathedral Dog and Cat is my everything. Comforting, knowledgeable.and my dog loves going there. She tries to drag me there when walking by. I'd recommend them 100 out of 100 times.

I love Dr.Fierman! He is an outstanding man that is very kind and had my cats best interests at heart. His receptionist is so sweet and made sure I was comfortable while I waited. After leaving my office he called to make sure everything was ok and when I've left messages for him, he returns it promptly. Amazing, amazing! Would recommend to ANYONE!!
