They saved me when I was in such a bind! My dog needed a health certificate in order to travel to the UK with me. On the day of my appointment with my original veterinarian, they canceled on me and I needed to find another appointment. I called over 25 hospitals and they all rejected me saying that I was too late/they were booked/they didn’t accept new clients which is understandable with such a short time frame. However, once I called Abingdon Square Veterinary Clinic, they were extremely kind and helpful right off the bat. Markita helped answer all of my questions through email and through the phone so thank you so much for being patient with me when I was bombarding you with concerns! Also I believe it was Dr. Rick Lyons who looked over my dog (I may be mistaken because I didn’t catch his name completely over the phone.)He was absolutely amazing and thorough with his explanations and also provided a lot of insightful advice. As a vet student myself, it gives me a lot of inspiration and warmth when I encounter such a dedicated and trustworthy clinic. Thank you so much for all of your help! Even though I was a new client, every staff member took me seriously and was so accommodating to all of my questions and concerns.

After a month of treatment, spending thousands of dollars this is how my beloved Juicy looks like....She was given 2 different antibiotics , first one didn't work out, the second one ("Famciclovir" $ 127, which is $11 on petco) tastes horrible and smells like a bleach, which made Juicy vomit for hours!! On top of that for Juicy's ECG they gave us 1pm appointment however they made us wait up until 4.30...I believe your time as valuable as mine! I wished I never taken Juicy there in the first place!!!!

Very professionally run office. Great care from Doctor who listened and even when unsure of a holistic med I was giving the dog looked it up. Pleasant, clean, comfortable.

Terrific practice, top team from the front desk to the medical team and vets. Professional and caring. Always there when you need them.

Really took their time to listen to a complex issue. Really seemed to care deeply. Nice exam rooms with gates in addition to doors. Followed all COVID protocols, but do allow in person with pet as opposed to only curbside, which for this issue was important for me. Switching vets to these guys from now on.

Everyone at ASVC are friendly, personable, caring, and always take the time to thoroughly answer my questions or concerns about my two kitties.

I chose Abingdon Square Vet mainly because I live across the street, but as a first time puppy owner, they have been the best! I always have a million questions and they welcome it and are always so thorough. I also am very particular with how my puppy is handled because I want to ensure it’s always as positive of an experience as possible, so I love the emphasis on stress-free handling here! Again, we live across the street so we walk by often and my puppy will always try to run in whenever we pass because she loves it here so much!

The Doctors and Staff at Abingdon Square Vet Clinic are caring, concerned, compassionate professionals. Their knowledge, support and guidance are greatly appreciated and I feel totally confident in their ability to care for my cat Honey. I recommend Abingdon Square to everyone I know, especially new puppy owners. The whole practice is absolutely fantastic. My basenji is nervous when held by strangers, and they've gone above and beyond to find ways to draw his blood without sedatives. They even add notes to his chart on which calm handling techniques work best for him. I can't imagine trusting him with anyone else. Don't hesitate. Book an appointment. Special shout out to Dr. Burdon! ------------------- I am so glad we found Abingdon Square. Prices are comparable to other vets in the area, but service is exponentially better. Dr. Rose Burdon spent about an hour getting to know us and our pup and going over the basics of caring for a new puppy. Dr. Burdon was extremely informative and genuinely caring and kind. I appreciated her willingness to provide care and recommendations based on our lifestyle and preferences (e.g. avoiding over-vaccination). We left with a goody bag of pamphlets and helpful information. Perks: Free puppy socialization classes are held every other Friday. The office is very neat and clean. The staff is fantastic (on the phone, over email, and in person). If you use pet insurance, they will file for reimbursement from your insurance company for you. No need to deal with the paperwork yourself.

Exceptional, compassionate, smart care from an amazing team! Recently, I lost one of my cats—which was in NO way due to the top of the line care she received from the team at Abington Square, they did everything preternaturally possible—and not only did her vet, Dr. Pueblo, call to share her empathetic condolences, but I received a beautiful handwritten card from the entire team. I felt so strongly that my loss was their loss. It may seem odd to write about losing a pet on a vet’s site, but it speaks to the depth of their practice. Dr. Pueblo called me days after losing her own (human) relative, to grieve with me, and when I burst into ugly tears, she had only patience and kindness. I know that my other cat, Boomhauer, continues to receive the best possible care here; from his doctor to the receptionist who quotes “King of the Hill” at me, every time I take him in. This is an old fashioned practice staffed by people who will love on your pet like it’s their own, as they make you feel like family. I am grateful beyond words for Abingdon Square Vet Clinic!

The vets and the staff have great communication, are friendly and truly care for animals (not making an easy buck, like some other vets in the Village). With an 8 week old pup they walked me through every single thing to expect over the next few months and were incredibly responsive and attentive throughout the whole process. 10/10 would recommend!

Our 14-year old dachshund, Milly has been going to Abingdon Square Veterinary since she was a puppy. She currently sees Dr. Brett Shorenstein, who always gives her superb care! We have found him to be both extremely thorough (and thoughtful), when devising any treatment plan, especially as Milly gets older and her needs have evolved. Dr. Shorenstein has also always been accessible and patient with our (sometimes numerous) questions. The support staff here is equally excellent and very on the ball -- always responding promptly to emails, any requests for information, billing, appointments and picking up medications. Abingdon Square Veterinary is a wonderful neighborhood practice.

Dr Burdon and everyone at Abington Square Veterinary Clinic is awesome!! They worry almost as much as I do about my fur babies: Daisy and Ollie. They stand ready to help no matter what the problem is! I know that my dogs are getting the best care anywhere!! We love them!!!❤️????❤️????

The vets and staff at Abingdon Square Vet are the best! We've always had such a great experience from start to finish. The front office staff is so responsive and on top of everything, and Dr. Goldberg is thorough and always willing to stay on the phone to answer all of my questions. Our pup is also so excited to go to the vet every time, which must stand for something! Would highly recommend!

My wife and I have had an excellent experience with Abington Square Vet Clinic (ASVC). We got our puppy late last year and a friend of ours recommended we go to ASVC. Our first experience there was wonderful even in the current times where drop off is outside. The vets we have worked with have all been exceptionally friendly and willing to answer any silly or tiny questions my wife and I have had. On our way home that first day someone saw us walking with a tote bag from the vet and, unprompted, stopped us and said "that's my vet, they are the best - great choice." It certainly has been. We have unfortunately had to use the vet's services a few times since for a broken tooth that needed to be removed and more recently to identify a pneumonia, which was only identified so quickly because ASVC allowed us to make a last minute appointment even though they were booked for the day. Given the severity of the issue, they recommended we move our dog to the hospital. ASVC and Dr. Brett Shorenstein were then in immediate contact with the pet hospital and made the transition seamless. ASVC had already contacted them and they were expecting us when we arrived within minutes. Our dog has since fully recovered and all is well. Hopefully that isn't a situation anyone reading this review runs into, but rest assured, if you have a critical pet issue then you should feel safe having Abington Square as your vet. I can't recommend this vet highly enough.

Best Vet Clinic in NYC, possibly the world. All of the doctors are caring and dedicated to the health of your pet, the veterinary techs and assistants are amazing & work so hard to make sure your pet is well cared for, and the practice manager and the receptionists go above and beyond to cater to every single pet parent and their needs. 10/10 will always bring my pet here.

We've been going to Abingdon for our dog since 2015. They have been really thorough, responsive, and accommodating. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

I was so nervous to try another vet after a negative experience with a previous vet office but Abingdon made the experience so easy and seamless. I just adopted my cat in January and Abingdon was ready to take her on as a new client and work with me to find a safe way to provide her medical care despite her extreme fear of the vet. Definitely will be going back :)

We’ve been taking our two puppies here since we moved in the area. They’re all absolutely great and they’ve definitely been the best experience we’ve had with vet in New York. Definitely recommend taking your pups here!

I've lived in NYC for 30+ years always with pets. This is by far the BEST veterinary clinic in manhattan! They are responsive! They are reliable! they are professional! They are knowledgeable! (oh, and BTW, I am a surgeon, so I know a knowledgeable and professional doctor when I meet one)! AND they are ALWAYS reasonable with their pricing. I LOVE all these Vets and their staff! This should be the metric by which all veterinary clinics are measured!
