We got a great pet and they genuinely care about the animals. The administration part and friendliness of the staff could use some work. I don't need to be reminded the I "signed a contract" each time I ask a question.

My cat, Ravioli, got fleas from another cat after getting neutered here My other kittens and my house became infested with fleas. Ended up having to have my house fumigated. Unless you’re really strapped for cash, do yourself a favor & have your cat fixed at vet

Owners- I appreciate the response, however, I think the point is missed. It shouldn't matter who I am, it's the fact that the communication was not there. And by the looks of it, I'm not alone on this. EDIT*** It's been an additional 2 months and still no contact from them***We got our animal here a few months ago. They charge for the adoption fee which is suppose to include spaying and neutering. They gave a date that you needed to have it done by..... However, how am I suppose to complete it by that time frame if they never answer any emails or phone calls. I've filled out their form online numerous times and have heard nothing back. Not even something confirming they received it. I emailed them directly and was ignored. We called the main desk asking about it and they very rudely told us that they don't handle that on that line and we had to call the clinic line. Ok........well we did that, left a message and received nothing. We tried for 2 or 3 MONTHS to try and get in touch with them. We finally decided that we couldn't wait any longer and we got it done at our personal vet. I would never adopt here again and would immediately go to the connecticut humane society instead. They charged a cheaper fee AND included the spay or neuter PLUS food for the first couple weeks. I know they show all their cute kittens and puppies but just know you'll have to pay up to $500 on top of a $200 fee just to get them fixed. I only gave 2 stars because my animal is the best and I hope more people will read this.

These guys sold us a cat with extreme parasitic issues. They absolutely concealed these horrific details and now we're a grand deep in medications just two weeks after adopting the poor girl. They told us she was clean. They lied.

These people really love animals. One of rhe things I like about them is people come second, money comes third. They are there to make sure the cats and dogs are taken care of and that they go to a good home. And if you abused a pet before, forget, this is not the place for you to get another one. They will NOT let you take it. Remember these animals were rescued, no one knows exactly what they have been through. I have never seen a dog or car be treated with such love and care these guys provide them. this is love. This is care. How much you want to pay to take a dog home doesnt mater here. If they think you are not good enough you are not taking any of their pets anywhere.

I dropped my 4 month old puppy off to get neutered. When we showed up, they said that they didn’t have our proof of vaccinations, which I had emailed to them the night before. I also filled out the form that was sent to me for the surgery and they ended up giving me a completely different form instead. That wasn’t even the worst of my experience. The email that was sent to me specifically said to pick my dog up at 4:30. I ended up waiting for almost 2 hours outside the facility. While I was waiting there were staff members outside smoking cigarettes and drinking wine and other alcohol. I assume that they were on their break, but it seemed very unprofessional to me. Apparently the reason why my dog took so long to come out was because he was still under the anesthesia. If this was the case the least they could’ve done was give me a phone call to let me know. When my dog finally came out, the lady gave me a lot of attitude when I was asking questions about why I sat in my hot car in the parking lot for 2 hours. I was not the only one who had to wait for this long, there were many other cars in the parking lot who waited for the same time or even more time than me. This place is extremely unprofessional, disorganized, and rude. I would not recommend going here.

Because 4 paws has my ultimate respect for all they do in the best interest of finding the best fit for family and pet. This organization is truly dedicated to saving lives and making sure they end up with loving ones. The application is very thorough and all involved are thoughtful and kind. I couldn't recommend them more highly. We gave adopted 2 amazing puppies through them and they are the loves of our lives.

I’ve adopted a dog and cat from here. I’ve also recommended them to numerous friends and clients who have all had successful adoptions. Both my animals came fully vetted and my dog was already microchipped and registered to me after her spay. The animals all come with detailed paperwork . I’m also always able to speak to someone directly about any questions I had regarding any part of the process. I also like that this rescue helps local and also does transports from poorer socioeconomic areas. They have a mix of adults and puppies, cats and kittens. Would definitely work with them again in the future for finding another fur kid.

I adopted my dog from because 4 paws and it was fantastic! They were responsive and got new dogs every few weeks. They were professional when we picked up our dog and gave me a full report on his health, what he needed, and what his temperament was like. I would adopt from them again and recommend them to anyone looking.

Wonderful experience from start to finish! Completing the application was easy and I got a response the next day asking for home photos. Within an hour of emailing them to my coordinator I had an appointment scheduled for a meet and greet. Everyone at the meet and greet was so nice and professional! I would definitely recommend this rescue group!

The owner of this rescue, Cheryl Podyma, leaves rude comments on other rescue pages. She recently posted this on another rescuer’s page...”Why would you bring in 100 kittens from the south when there are so many here in our own communities needing help? Ridiculous at every level.” If Cheryl truly cared about animals, she would know that these cats from the South would be euthanized. This other rescue works very hard to bring those cats up north so they can have a chance at life. They are doing so much good. Cheryl has no business leaving disgusting comments like this on another rescue’s page. Very inappropriate and very unprofessional. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RESCUE

Very happy to foster from Because 4 paws. Kim ensured that the dog was a perfect fit for a family, very responsive. Had no success with other rescues but we were able to get a lab mix who is gentle with kids and well trained for 10 months.

My family and I have fostered here countless times. All the dogs are fantastic most come from Texas and tough times and all they want is love. The staff takes great care of them and help you no matter what. There was one dog, Buddy and he was abused and my family and I fostered him such a great dog even though his experience. The staff was so nice to him and did whatever he needed. They are very sociable but still good workers. (The picture is of my dog my family and I adopted there.)

When we adopted a month ago we were told to schedule neutering ASAP. We have been trying to reach out for the last month to schedule. No calls back and every time we call it is just "you'll have to wait". I inquired about getting part of our adoption fee back to cover the cost of having this done with our vet, but they refused. Be cautious.
