They have ALWAYS been available whenever we have needed them, and yes, they need 200 dollars for an emergency visit, but in my mind, you can't put a price on your pets life, the staff are always professional and friendly and doctors have always been available even during covid, so please, if you have an emergency in Pittsfield, they are your best hope ????

First time visit for our dog. You must stay outside while your pet is taken inside for evaluation. Vet contacts you during exam to hear your concerns. My pet didn't seem to mind the experience. I think it was worse for me than my pet. A little separation anxiety on my part.

Unfortunately I have had bad experiences on both visits recently. They seem to like quoting one price over the phone and then when it comes time to pay that price has increased. They did this recently to me when I had to bring my cat in to be put down. They went from $170 over the phone to $340 when in the parking lot prior to the services that I was prepared for them to do. Apparently, I didn't hear them, the girl argued, when she explained that there is an emergency up charge and additional doctors fees. When I said it's not an emergency she said that we could schedule the appointment for 2 weeks from the date. I left. Called Shaker Hill Vet. They were so nice. Got me in that same afternoon. Did not charge an emergency fee and they were around $170 for everything. The experience was very comforting as well considering the circumstances. They will be our Vet going forward. Berkshire Vet on Crane Ave. Used to be a good place to do business with. That has changed!

Called for emergency service for our cat. Phone was answered immediately and they were able to see our cat within a few hours after an initial triage to make sure she was stable. The service and care was truly extraordinary. I would highly recommend this vet.

Dr Makuc took care of our sweet girl if that's what you want to call it my girl was 17 with terminal cancer and a split open leg and by all means should have been put to rest and instead without asking he stapled her up and sent her home. Then I waited 2 hrs in the parking lot expected her to be put to rest and prepare myself emotionally he told me it was MY FAULT MY DOG SUFFERED HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE STAY AWAY

As a vet that offers emergency services it is reassuring to know they will help your pet. A little pricey.

They took my dog in as an emergency when his own vet could not see him. Unfortunately, when they examined him his prognosis was grave and he had to be euthanized that night. They were extremely patient and compassionate with me and waited for my family members to arrive to say their goodbyes. Stayed beyond closing time to allow us to say goodbye as it was not expected. I am very grateful to them for allowing us the time to say goodbye to our beautiful boy.

My dog was attacked by another dog. My dog was at Berkshire veterinarian hospital for 5 minutes and died and they charged us $250, crooks!

While our latest visit had an unfortunate outcome, everyone we dealt with that day was very helpful and compassionate.

I had a very traumatic experience that left me feeling helpless and alone during a very difficult time. First, I was shocked to be told by an emergency vet that they can not help my dog because they don't know him even after giving them a detailed rundown of the previous 48 hours. As my dog passed away on the way there, I was told not to bring him because they would charge me 200 dollars to tell me he was gone. Needing confirmation, I brought him there anyway and after I was locked in the breeze way while crying and saying my goodbyes to my dog, I just asked if they would make sure my baby was taken care of and to help him get to where he needed to be for cremation... their response was "not until you pay us". To care for an animal is to care for a human and nobody should ever be made to feel the way that the staff at Berkshire vet made me feel that night.

In the last 2 months we've had 2 dogs with two very different surgeries that were needed. Our 6 yr old Australian cattle dog had a paw vs pane of glass. The surgery went well and the vets & techs were just great! Then our 13 yr old min pin had to have double eye removal surgery. They were so kind, sympathetic, and knowledgeable with any questions we had. Their skill level during the surgery compared to other places that I've seen do this same surgery were leaps and bounds above them. *Overall I'm beyond satisfied with our Berkshire Veterinary Hospital. My bank account isn't but we are. Thanks for all you do it's so greatly appreciated.

I brought in my cat to be euthanized and expected to be allowed to be with him when he passed. I did spend time with him in the examining room, then when the vet came in they insisted that I not be there when he was put to sleep. I reluctantly agreed (I never anticipated this) and now I really regret it. From what I have found on-line a vet should never ask an owner to leave. This will never again happen to me.
