I visited about a month ago with my dog who was barely walking. The vet gave me meds and after 2 weeks of him not getting better, I needed to go to a different vet since it was saturday night. The vet from the 2nd location told me that they gave me the good medication yes but that my dog needed to take twice the amount of the dosage we gave him because of his weight. He had a hernie discale which only got worst because I didn't have the right dosage since day 1.

Thee cheers to the team at Victoria Vet in Verdun !!! They have been working diligently with me to find a solution for my amazing 10 yr old cat. This isn't an evident skin disorder, and they have returned all my many calls as we work on saving his life. I don't know what I'd have done without them. As I also had to say goodbye to my two elderly cats (13 & 18), the compassion and grace was as kind as it gets with everyone there. As a Cat rescuer, I also work with another vet for over 40 years, and am able to combine the two vets when necessary on following through on difficult cases. They have been 100% cooperative and receptive to a second opinion. For me, that's priceless. My felines are so lucky to have the best vets in town. I took my dog there on Monday for diarrhea and a limp. A stool analysis was ordered and I was told the vet would call with the results on Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. It is now Thursday afternoon, and no call back. Not happy. Also, after having my dog cared for there for 5 years, and never any mention of her having teeth/gum problems, the vet told me they needed cleaning within the next year or so under general anasthetic, with possible teeth extractions, and that it would cost between $1200-$1500. Imagine my surprise, since I wasn't even aware there were problems! One would think it would have been mentioned earlier! But what really annoyed me is that having spent $360 during my visit, when it was time to leave, I had to carry my dog and large cans of special food, so I asked for a bag. Was told they had no bags, but I could buy a reusable one for $3.50. I asked if I could have it for free, but was told no. It upset me, given the $ I had already spent -- so cheap of the clinic to do this, especially since the bags probably cost them under $1 ! Little gestures matter. I am very dissatisfied with this whole experience, although I must say the technicians are great.. A. Bourque

Was looking after my friends kitten after she had been fixed. Just needed to go there for the follow up. I was paying for the expense out of pocket and my friend was reimbursing me. The vet was fully aware of the situation. During the examination, when she was brought back out, they told me they found a lump, and would need to proceed with a bunch of expensive tests. I told them as I was not the cats owner, I could not give consent to approve these costly tests. They pressured me, but I stood my ground as her owner was only out of town for another week and a half. But I assured them that if he gave consent, I would go along with tests. Fast forward a week, and the lump they showed me had completely disappeared. (it was only fatty tissue). When the owner returned and enquired with the vet about the lump (i told them they tried to scare me with) they told him they had NO IDEA what I was talking about. So... Bad record keeping, or predatory practices and scare tactics to bleed their customers out of money for expensive unnecessary tests? Either way, I will never take my pet there.

Took my cat to an emergency appointment, was happy to find a spot, reservation was on time. All the staff was genuinely interested in my situation. Not sure about the past doctors, but I would definitely come back even if it's a good drive from home.

I have been with this vet for over a year and my sphynx has been there a few times for follow ups. I have never had anything to complain about but I would like to share my most recent visit which was exceptional. I had the pleasure of meeting with Dr Reyes for the first time regarding some long term skin problems with my cat and I finally feel confident for the first time with a treatment plan proposed by any vet I’ve ever consulted. On top of it, she was able to offer me a temporary treatment plan that worked with my budget until I could transition into something that I needed time to prepare for financially. I’m very satisfied with the team who accommodated my most recent visit!

First time using this vet and I have to say I couldn't be happier! Took our new cat here this morning and despite the inconvenience of the virus right now, these guys were great! Dropped off at the door and was called by the vet who answered all my questions and was very patient. Our cat seemed really happy too, not stressed after we left. Having made the mistake of reading other reviews on here about this place, I personally feel very happy. First time vaccinations, flea treatment (that's what you get for purchasing a cat off Kijiji) and de-worming tablets were very reasonably priced! All I can say is, don't always judge a place by the reviews of others. Thoroughly recommend this vet. (And no, I wasn't paid to write this review.)

Hate this on rue deliglise. Exorbitant prices than any other vet clinics. I went there for my dog and OMG WOW-its a no no. Try this 1) mtlvet.ca on rue de verdun or in vill emard.

We have only used them for our cats. They have always been so sweet to us. Recently I brought my cat there because he was sick and it was time for him to go to kitty heaven. They were so compassionate, empathetic and they showed him so much care and love. They were so sweet. Hopefully it is going to be a long time before I have to do this to another fur baby but Ill go there again <3

My cat needed a tooth removed back in February 2017. It was a weekend, and I work, so I felt I needed to get things done. It was a tooth that was very loose, but he was inflamed in his gums and I thought it would be more comfortable to have it pulled. I was not well informed. I could have just left it actually and it would have fallen out in a day or so. But in order for them to identify if there was a problem, we needed dental x-rays. Who knew that it would be 3 times the expense of my dentist? so the price tag of 1200. was crazy. And to boot the dentist said it came out very very fast and easy! The icing on the cake was when they were insistent I change his food to their own brand. I received this print out paper which showed me how to gradually change his diet: I said why?? he is quite healthy, an outdoor cat, He eats mainly raw food and this is the first incident in 8 years for him. They told me if I wanted the best food for him I would follow their suggestions. I will never return.

I took my cat there to be put down and told them that I want him cremated so I could take him home they said OK I signed a paper they went in the back with him they didn’t cremate him they put them in a garbage bag and I brought them home I didn’t know he wasn’t he made it so I left them in the box for a week there was a smell in the house. My other cat was smelling the box and throw a nap so I went in the box and touch the garbage bag and there was a tail and a paw ,they never cremated him.I called them back they said oh we didn’t know they said bring them back and will do it I said I’ll never bring any of MY CATS HERE AGAIN!!! Please people!!! DONT TAKE UR LOVE ONES TO THIS CARELESS PLACE!!! All they want is your money??? And trust me they charge an arm and a leg.

Before it changed to victoria... I've wanted to work there since about 2008 because i believe in what they do. They r honest professionals that think of the patient AND the client. They will do whatever they can to help, AND realise that we are in Verdun and most people don't have tons of money but still care alot for their pets!... I finally got in! It is a small "family" that LOVE animals and everyone is there for the right reason: helping care for the animals and educate the people on preventive care! Everyone's very competent, caring and extremely patient. It is still a very small clinic with limited equipment and staff for big emergencies. So if it is too serious and they think it would be safer for the animal to go to a better equipped clinic for a better chance to live... they would much rather refer you! And if the person has no way to get there or perhaps doesn't have the finances to b able to!... they simply explain to them the risque and if the owner is ready to take the risque, they will do everything they can for the animal, just because they care. I gotta say, i'm a bit disappointed to see some of the reviews, but i'd just like to say, everyone at that place do whatever they can to help... i guarantee! And i would also like to wish a great retirement to Dr Laliberte! I think i can say on behalf of tons of people that he will be missed! Since changing to victoria... its all abt the money.????

I've been bringing my cat there for about 9 years. I've always had a good experience. My cat is very aggressive and I always warn them she is a very difficult cat. They take the proper precautions and I have never had any problems at all. Very caring and competent staff. Extremely reasonable prices. UPDATE: I stopped going there in 2017. I found they've really raised their prices and are a little too interested in trying to sell you unnecessary tests for your pet. Just my opinion.

Of course they wont find record of my visit as they write in All their bad reviews, the good reviews I'm sure they write themselves. Before taking my cat here I called his vet in my country, explined symptoms and got a very specific instructions. Went to this clinic cause of the "reviews " and proximity. The "vet " before even checking my cat gave me the cost $$$ of the possible treatment, then again without checking told me what she thought the cat had, that's when I lose it and told her that her job was to 1. Know how to save an animal in distress 2. Do her job 3. Act as fast as possible but she seemed to be more worried about charges and apparently the time it could take her to act. Then finally she acted ando guess what the diagnosis that I was given by telephone was correct, but the pseudo vet of this hole wanted to sell me the dead package they have.....

I brought my dog, dying from kidney failure. I was ignored, not welcomed. I bought painkillers, which I didn't get the chance to give to my dog. My dog passed away a few hours after. They won't refund me the painkillers even though they weren't used, still in the uv bag. No sense of remorse. They only wanna steal your money.

Quite good. My cat was sick with symptoms resembling gastroenteritis. The initial estimate of the bill was quite expensive - more than my salary, however, the vet was very understanding with my situation and was able to bring down the bill and services to a manageable amount (with added responsibilities for me of course), while still providing the essential medical requirements for my pet. Well done - friendly staff, please keep up the good work.

We have always been to see the same vet for my cat who had problems so when he got sick (the same thing he always had) we brought him there because we had moved quite far from our other vet. They conned us into paying 1000$ and he died 3 days later... I won't be bringing any animals back there again.

I bring my dog there and is my frist experience of this vet. The service was horrible, rude employe the vet lady doctor is not responsible. Always saying more problem my dog have. pushing me to do more exam for my dog $$$$, pushing us to buy more medicine $$$$. 2 days later i bring my dog to an other vet and cost me 5 times less money and my dogs going very well now. NOT RECOMANDED!!!

Overall, pretty good service. I bring my cat there and buy her food from there now, as well. I had 2 different veterinarians give my cat her shots; 1 was super gentle, and the other 1 was pretty rough. My cat was hissing at her, she's not a cat that typically hisses! They always do a follow-up phone call to see if she likes her new food, and when she is due for her next shots. Prices are good, hours are convenient.

Don't go there .. you take an appointement, you arrive on time and then 1h later you're in. They don't answer your questions clearly.. you stay concerned and then they charge you more than other places .. the receiptionist is soooooo rude .. unbelievable.. it's private .. we pay money and we want service and a smile

about 2 months ago my dog got very sick after eating garbage.. to make a long long story short she had eaten a mango pit that had ripped open her intestine and she nearly died. They did emergency surgery and were able to save her. They were great with my dog and still are by trying to help us figure out what she can eat that does not give her a bad reaction because she is a sensitive dog with allergies. I do not know what we would do without them!

Patient and informative They took care of all types of situations with detailed information: options, honest about fees, detailed and informative when asked questions--they will never push something on you or suggest unnecessarily-- You'll get a full list of pros and cons before you decide, and know all of your options from A to Z, success rates, statistics etc. They've dealt with 2 very difficult situations already, and even offered options that were delightfully surprising! (ie. A "food-tasting" for a pet who absolutely refused to eat! - Brilliant! )
