Unfortunately our family did not have a good experience with this clinic as our dog was declining and eventually needed to be put down. We were not offered compassionate care when our dog became sick with Lyme disease, only offered extremely expensive testing before they would provide supportive care in her last stages of life. Our family felt there was primarily a profit motive behind their recommendations, rather than a desire to give the care our dog needed. We eventually found a vet at another clinic who was able to provide the end-of-life care she needed. Sadly, we received an automated email from Limestone City Animal Hospital requesting feedback (which we did), signing off with "we hope to see you and your dog again soon!", an insensitive statement as we had just put our dog down the day prior. Overall, this clinic has demonstrated a lack of compassion and care, with thoughtless customer service. We concluded that this clinic seems to be highly profit motivated and have thankfully been able to move our pets over to the clinic who helped us when we needed it with our dog this week.

They we extremely helpful on the phone and saw my little kitty quickly at no charge! He was fine and didn't need any procedures. I thought for sure they would charge something. They were just happy to check him out and give me Peace of mind.

I contacted them about getting my dog in for an emergency appointment, and they were able to get me in the next day and didn't charge me any extra. Amazing service, thank you!

I feel often that my dog us less important for them because he doesn't often visit. Nails are difficult I can understand that but they have never been able to properly cut his nails and actually suggested having him sedated to do so ???? not impressed.

Quick and friendly staff. I changed vets to be closer to home and the transition was seemless. All my questions were answered and I felt listened too and heard

The staff were wonderful and caring with our young cat. They are doing a great job adapting to the added difficulties of reducing contact.

I had to take my boy here as he was having tummy issues. Dealt with him very well and explained every little thing on the bloodwork and scans to us! Dr. Shepherd was great.

An absolutely great veterinarian clinic. They have gone over and above to take care of my cat, who had a chronic disease. Around the end of his life, they were very supportive and helpful in too many ways for me to describe. Every member of the clinic is dedicated to the welfare of animals, and I would strongly recommend trusting Limestone City Animal Hospital with your pet’s care.

Mark is a very caring vet and great at recommending options that feel appropriate. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my furbaby.

Really good service. People are nice and take good care of the animals. Also it comes with a app that helps you track everything for your animals. It helps me everyday. You can place reminder for medication or bath. You can add all the facilities that you use for your animal ex: grooming place.

Nothing! It's perfect as usual! Thank you. :) It was fine, but unfortunately Lola freaked out and the Doc couldn't get the shot into her lol, so am coming back today after giving her the prescribed gabapentin Rx so hopefully she is calmer!!!! Jules

Dr. Mark is the best vet we've ever had. He is honest, thoughtful and will help you consider every option available. No "upsell" either, which is nice to see, he's not constantly trying to push the "next big thing pet health" onto you. I can't recommend him or Limestone City enough.

We are quite simply uncomfortable with the quality of care our pets received here. Dr. Melinyshyn presented increasingly bizarre treatment plans for our cat's recurring, aggressive urinary tract infections. She was unwilling to prescribe antibiotics but strangely committed to pushing pain killers as a primary treatment. This was followed by holistic tablets and what appeared to be a repeated suggestion for euthanasia? We relayed this to our cat's specialist in Toronto, who was horrified. Luckily, his specialist has agreed to continue seeing him until we can find a better clinic in the Kingston area. Management was alerted but seemed doubled down on these non-evidence-based approaches. ---------------- Update: The fact their medical director stands behind the use of painkillers as a primary treatment for recurring UTIs (urosepsis anyone?) is precisely why we've changed clinics. In any case, we're happy our cat is now getting the care he deserves. Thank you for sending his files onward.

My dogs are excited to go there. The vet stood outside in the cold at -12 for almost 15 minutes going over everything with me in great detail. My know my pets are well cared for at Limestone City Animal Hospital.

After 5 phone calls for emergency service for my dog who was in great pain from an ear infection, I finally got an appointment with Limestone Animal Hospital. Be aware that all the clinics I called refused emergency service because I was not an existing customer. I was a recent and long term customer of Bayridge Animal Hospital (7 years) and all they would do was give me d a phone # for emergency service and no other support. Very concerning and disappointing !! Luckily for me Limestone Animal Hospital agreed to see me because they had an opening (cancellation). So when you have an emergency for your pet be aware that the concept of compassionate pet care is sometimes very difficult to find. However for this one transaction with Limestone Animal Hospital, I am very satisfied with the service, care and information I got from Dr. Sheppard for this emergency. I will go back for follow-up and re-assess whether to continue using.

Friendly service. Responsive. During pandemic times, was able to fit us in as new clients and treat our kitty for an abscess before it became worse. We will be back and appreciate the attention and empathy given to us and our young cat.

When I moved to Kingston I was looking for the best Vet. I looked online and I saw limestone which had a very high rating. First, they are human and thier prices are average. Everytime I went there they looked for cheapest option and explain in details whatever we aren't sure and everything that was involved. My dog was getting old and started having health issues so I was going quite often. Unfortunately she needed to be put down. They made the whole process as easy as possible and also are very compassionate. Mallory the clerk went through all the details and what will happen, what I would need and everything in a calm and reasuring voice. When it was time they put us in a room, dime the lights and did it. They left me in the room and told me to take my time and leave whenever I felt like it, no pressure. If I ever move in Kingston, I would without any doubt go there for my Vet. If I have one place to recommend, go with Limestone, you will not be disappointed.

My boyfriend and I brought our kitten here for the first time a week after we rescued him because it is close by and we were scared he had eaten a houseplant that could be toxic to cats. After calling first and receiving no answer we drove over and rang the doorbell. The vets assistant told us the vet was on lunch break and would be back soon. Soon turned out to be 25 minutes later (it was about 1:45 PM). Would it have mattered if our animal was in severe distress or would lunch still have priority? Without so much as an introduction the vet had his assistant come get our kitten, not allowing even one of us inside the building or giving any more information other then just wait in your car. 15 minutes later the vet brought our cat out to us and said that I shouldn't look to google to see if things are harmful to cats, and in all likelihood he would be just fine. After this we paid for an exorbitantly priced "emergency visit". Included was his first round of shots free and an additional 20$ for deworming medication. When it was time for our cats second round of shots we made an appointment by going over to the clinic since it is hard to reach them on their phone. The card given to us then had a time on the 14th of October, we went on the 14th and waited a half an hour for another vets assistant to tell us that our appointment was actually on the 15th. The next day I called, at 4 different times and left messages and it still took me calling at the time the appointment would have taken place for anyone to pick up the phone. I asked for any records they had on our cat so we could take him to a better vet and the person on the phone said that it would be emailed to me as soon as the vet checked it over. I am still waiting for that email so I can tell the new vet what shots and medication my cat was given, and now it has been 3 weeks without anything having been sent. I would not trust this place with your animals

Fantastic experience. Friendly service, answered phone immediately, was able to book an appointment the next day. The examination was a great experience, this will be our permanent vet clinic. Staff performed an above and beyond assessment of our pup and we now feel confident about his health and future vet visits. Thank you for making our pup happy and healthy! Don't even look at other vet clinics - this is the one you want if you are searching for a new vet near downtown Kingston.

Phenomenal care from incredible people. I have nothing but good things to say, and have been going to Mark & Jason with all of my animals regularly now for over a decade. Highly, highly recommend, for more reasons than I have room to explain here.

I use to take my dog there, for five years. Had to start to take her to another veterinarian because of prices. When my dog passed away, I phoned and told them. I didn't receive one phone call from them. My dog had been going there since she was a puppy, and loved going there. I guess all they care about is the money.

Cares for their patients (both human and pets). Shows they really want to make sure your animal is cared for and treats everyone involved with respect and fairness. Would recommend this clinic to all.
