We’ve been here before a couple of years ago and everything went smoothly. Granted it was very expensive but that’s just what we expected for an emergency vet. BUT today I called and asked them a simple question about how much is too much …

We took our dog to the emergency sunday night and we had to leave him to be hospitalized. We were worried and terrified but we got him back today (a day and a half later) and he's better. We're so grateful he was looked after and we're so happy to bring him home.

Wonderful and caring Dr.'s and staff. If you have an emergency with your pet, this is the place to go. I have been involved with 2 separate animal emergency's over the past few years, and both times this facility has done their very best …

This hosptial killed my dog!! 3 years ago my dog had a feeding tube inside his snout, because he had diabetes, and they admitted to over feeding him which then caused his death! If you care about your pet dont go there!!!

I would give 0 start to this place, all they want is money and they will only concern about if you can afford it or not. I brought my cat to this place and the nurse was telling me this is not emergency but they want you to pay and the …

Incredibly disappointing. I visited Blue Pearl Hospital on 12/31 with my 1-year-old golden doodle due to an ongoing issue with his health (3 days of vomiting/ diarrhea and bleeding). Upon arriving at the facility I was greeted by a nurse who immediately refused to take us in saying "we should have called first", I told her we did but nobody picked up the phone and we were left with no choice but to head there. We were once again told they were not interested in seeing my dog because it was not a "life or death" situation and he was stable. A different nurse approach us and again told me this was not an emergency and I should look for other places. She gave a list of places and upon calling them they had no availability because it was a holiday, then suggested taking him to the animal hospital. The only solution they came up with was that if we wanted too we could wait but it would be up to 3HRS without guarantee. I will not be visiting this place in the future and I suggested you call in before assuming it's an emergency.

Brought my cat in for an orthopedic appt, they deemed him not well enough for the appt and sent him in as an emergency consult. We were there for 9 hours, and transferred him to LIVS in Long Island after finding out they gave him NO fluids or food in the time he spent in the hospital. They told us the best thing was to put him down; he was observed at LIVS and we got answers and actual care. He’s home now and better than ever; had I listened to what the vet advised at Blue Pearl, we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to keep him alive. Absolute waste of time and $1700. Avoid unless absolutely necessary; VEG in Williamsburg and Flatbush are also open 24 hours and actually care about animals.

This is the second pet I’ve taken to Bluepearl and the staff and doctors there have always made it as pleasant an experience and these visits can be. Dr Farrelly was thorough, empathetic and informative. Thank you again, doctor!

DON’T GO THERE!!!! I was recommended by vet to visit a specific doctor, Dr. Seltzer. We waited 3 months to see the doctor and upon our arrival we had to wait 1 hour and then they shows us a prefixed bill ($620) with out seeing our dogs condition. We explained what’s going with his leg and they insist on looking into his ear and doing test even though they confirmed that his ear doesn’t have anything to do with his leg condition. He’s been leaking fluid and itchy with a swollen leg. We have stated that we’ve seen 2 other vets and had test done on his ears already knowing what’s going on. Dr. Seltzer preforms test on his ear despite the fact that we already have results moving forward she takes our dog for 45 minutes waiting and comes back with a bill of additional $735 with out analyzing his foot. No treatment no idea just no thought other than charging us $1,335 and says she need to run more test aside from this charge. We didn’t agree to her doing those test that she perform and we asked for it to be removed from the bill being that we had those results and she got mad and basically kicked us out of the office. I don’t think this is professional, Do you? I wouldn’t go there ever again and I wouldn’t advice anyone to go there. It’s highway robbery from the front door. “A prefixed bill”?, with out any idea or medication

My wife (who is a Licensed Veterinary Technician) took our cat because she was suffering from anemia. She went there because she gets a discount because she works for a parent company. The Veterinarian's advice was to put her to sleep. My wife did not want to that so she said she would like for her to get a blood transfusion to try and save her life, we knew of the risks and that there was a chance she would not make it. The Veterinarian refused, she said it was unethical. My wife refused and when she asked for the cat, it turns out that she was already being set to be put to sleep. When my wife left the Veterinarian was very condescending and basically told her that it was inhumane to 'let her die' on her own, she was basically still pushing for the cat to be put down. Finally my wife took our precious cat to the AMC. They did the blood transfusion that we requested and 3 months later she is doing great! Her red blood count is back to normal now. We needed to drive further, pay 30% more because she did not get a discount there but it was well worth it. My advice is, don't waste your time in a life or death situation going there, go straight to the AMC

i did not visit the hospital but a phone call left me very impresaed. i have 2 puppies 3 month old shih tzus and they were vomiting all day. after calling everywhere in jackson heights and not finding any vets available i called this clinic and a very nice young lady answered (god i wish i remembered her name) i explained what was going on and ahe explained that puppies sometimes eat something that irritates their stomach and if they were not vomiting like mine the best thing was to observe them for 4 to 6 hours tske away their food and water and watch how they looked after the 6 hour fast prepare them a mix of bland chicken rice and swwet potato and that the fiber would probably settle their stomachs. i was surprised that she took the time to liaten to me about what was happenning and to explain what to do. she also said of course that if the puppies started vomiting again or if the vomit was all red to take them in right away. she is an angel and my puppies are doing well today and my wife stopped crying because she thought it was really bad. at the end i asked about the fees and she explained them also. money would have not been a problem but basically she did a consult over the phone unselfishly and without even knowing who i was. i guess she noticed the worry in my voice and was very kind to help me. THAN YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU i hope to go visit someday perhaps for routine care for my dogs definetely not in an emergency but if i ever have an emergency i know exactly where to go

Update: Now inconsistent service. Failed to send over cardio records to primary care physican...had to wait 20 mins while they sent them. Unreliable call back. Unreliable email response. ---- I was terrified bringing my 15 year old Italian Greyhound with congestive heart failure here based on these absolutely horrendous reviews. However, I was referred to them by my trusted doc at InstaVet. The experience I had was not even remotely close to the reviews I have read. Booking was easy. Completing online intake form was effortless. Submitting my pets records was also very easy. When I arrived, there was a coordinator standing and greeting me the moment I walked in. This was surprising since I don't even get that with my regular primary care doctor. She took my dog right away and whisked me into an exam room. The cardiologist was ready to go and they took the dog immediately. The entire cadio workup took about 45 minutes for sonography, x-rays and exam. Usually it takes all day and the dog is just sitting in a kennel the whole time. I have to do this every 3 months, so this was by far the quickest cardio exam I've had to date. When finished, the cardiologist came into the room along with another doctor. They presented their findings to me in a way that was not condescending. They were presenting, not talking down. They were very clear about all findings and recommended new heart med dosages. Checkout was also very easy. I'm grateful for the staff and experience there. Will definitely bring my beloved Greyhound back there again for his next cardio exam.

I don’t understand those 1 star reviews. I admit that this is not the most “luxury” feel hospital, but the staff were friendly, professional, and informative. Had my dog removed two foreign bodies out from him stomach. He is back to normal diet this morning. It was expensive, but better than losing his life. And at least, all expenses were discussed and transparent. Know what your are looking for, and don’t leave misleading reviews here.

Let's be real. If you are going here it is an emergency, you will pay for quick tests, immediate care, etc. They may be busy and need to figure out how to determine what pets need immediate attention, just like a human emergency room, so you may wait. My experience here was as good as it could be given my situtation with my sick, 17 year old cat. They thoroughly explained every test, the results, all options and potential outcomes. Kindly repeating themselves several time for me and working up many quotes to assist in my decision. I felt they spent an excellent amount if time with us. Both the tech and vet were fantastic and so kind sharing their shifts so I could assure I returned to familar faces with my girl. I didn't feel shamed by my decision or my ability as a pet parent like I have felt elsewhere. They transferred information to my vet and remembered us when we came back. Overall this was the best experience I could expect.

We took our dog there after he got hit by a car and they were just terrible, asking thousands of dollars for unneeded services, the nurses and doctors were disrespectful and pushy. All around terrible

Yesterday was a very difficult day. We brought our beautiful boy Boots to Blue Pearl as he had several seizures at home and continued to have them as I brought him in. He was immediately raced to the back and stabilized. The vet, Amanda (I think her last name is LaForte) came out and met with me in a private room. She spent a lot of time taking Boots’ history specifically the info on when I noticed a change in him midweek. She took the time to explain the options and the reality of what Boots’ life might be moving forward if they could get him completely stabilized. She was compassionate and understanding. She knew my struggle because Boots was a relatively young cat at only 6 years 5 months. But she also spelled out the reality of the financial aspect to truly get to the bottom of what was going on. There was no judgement on her part when my husband and I made the decision that we couldn’t go down that path. A wonderful nurse (I didn’t get her name) brought Boots into the room in a cozy bed for my husband and I to spend time with him and make a decision. One look at my vulnerable little boy looking so sick and I knew we couldn’t put him through anymore and the likelihood he would ever come back to being the cat he was before was so slim. Boots was one of 5 kittens born under our house in March of 2015. I had him, his Mom and siblings all TNR’d. The kittens were deemed non-social by the rescue and all returned to our yard. Unfortunately, three of the kittens didn’t survive much longer. Boots seemed the most friendly and when I discovered one of the kittens killed by an animal, we took Boots inside and he became the first cat we ever owned. He was aloof but loving especially to me. He was definitely a Momma’s boy. I will miss him for a long time to come. I find myself looking for him everywhere in the house. We have another cat but there won’t be anymore. It is too hard to say goodbye and make these difficult decisions. The only comfort I find is knowing that we gave him a much better life in six and a half years than he ever would have had on the street he was born on. I want to thank everyone at Blue Pearl from the young ladies at the front desk to Amanda and her nurse for their kindness and compassion yesterday. You helped my husband and I through a very difficult process and decision.

I brought my dog in with a life threatening situation and ended up having to let her go. The staff was so kind, they explained all the options with compassion and empathy. It was heartbreaking but they were more than professional... They were human. ????

They should have a zero for ratings the most ridiculous place. Trying to get a dog out of ACC with bone cancer needs an amputation. They wont receive her unless im there we are 4 hours away. Willing to give cc over the phone etc. ACC was willing to transport and ACC said they do this all the time. Its 2021 do business over the phone. Had to make other arrangements wasted my whole day with this place

Dr. Pennington was so kind and patient. My puppy Yorkie was feeling so sick and when I brought him to ER and was explained all the different kinds of treatments there were and the costing I was so relieved to see the options and professionalism. I came back 2 hours later and my dog was feeling and looking better instantly! 1,000% recommended hands down.

Took my dying cat there yesterday at the recommendation of my vet. Check in and triage was ok but then waited 4 hours to see the vet ; only after complaining and crying that my cat was dying did a “vet” come to see us. He never even as much touched my cat and I was told they could not treat him there as they don’t have the services they say they provide. So I would need to take him to their Brooklyn or midtown facility. The “vet” was rude and obnoxious and told me to hold on as he was getting me my quote for services (for an animal he had not examined) which was $4,000 for an IV and ultrasound! Thank goodness I acted on my instincts and called other emergency vets after speaking to a caring and compassionate vet at Veterinary emergency group in Brooklyn my cat received the services he needed and I was charged $600. This is complaint is not about the money as I would of paid anything to save my pet it’s about getting a vet who is doing there job for the love of animals and not for money.

took my dog there, gushing blood. they didn’t do anything, only gave him pain medication and charged $1000+ for absolutely nothing. they didn’t wrap his leg up or anything, they left the dog the bleed.. causing him to lose more blood than he already did. they then proceeded to tell me they don’t have any staff to care for him and just left him to bleed. paid a ton of money for no reason. don’t go here.

Is very sad that this is the only placed recommended by mot doctors for a 24/7 schedule. The waiting time is crazy, they took some x-rays and after 8 hour the Vet told me the radiology ha to read them . !!! After 8 hour of waiting time, I left the place without a diagnosis. The following date I I had to call several times to get the clinical history . I never received the reading from the Radiologist , only the images . As said before unfortunately this is the only place in Queens, so sad
