We could not be happier with the care Dr Hansen has provided our dog over the years. We had been going to another vet that was overcharging us and not accurately diagnosing the issue and refused to try other treatments. One visit to Spring Grove and he was diagnosed and put on the proper diet and medicine. And for WAY less money than the other vet! She is the most knowledgeable and caring vet ever! Highly recommend!!!

Dr. Hansen is wonderful. She not only diagnosed my dog's infection over the phone, her office called the next day to see how my "baby" was doing, and by the next day my little girl was taken in for emergency surgery. I'm taking all my future pets to her for treatment. It's obvious that her love of animals is more than love of the almighty dollar.

Absolutely wonderful. I recently switched to Dr. Hansen from another local vet who seemed more interested in getting us out the door as quickly as possible than caring for my dog. That was not the case at Spring Grove- our intake interview, annual checkup, and vaccinations took over an hour and it was clear that the priority was to make sure my dog received the best possible care. Dr Hansen made it clear that I could call with concerns at any time, and even offered flexibility on appointment times so we could come in when other dogs would not be present. I never would have found Spring Grove without the recommendation of a friend, but I am so glad that I did.

My favorite thing about Dr. Hansen is the thoroughness with which she explains your treatment options. You'll never leave the office without a complete understanding of your animal's state of health. She even types out a "report card" which outlines the findings of the visit, so you don't have to struggle to remember the details of what you discussed. And she'll never rush you out the door. My lab was recently diagnosed with cancer, and she was extremely thorough in explaining our options on how to proceed. She even called both me and my wife separately to explain the prognosis. She's also not afraid to admit when she doesn't know the answer to a question. I have a working dog that I (by contract) have to take to another vet. And while I'm very happy with the care she receives there, I still prefer to take my lab to Dr. Hansen because of the reasons I outlined above.

Dr. Hansen is the most thoughtful, knowledgable, skilled, talented, and compassionate veterinarian I have ever seen. She recently took a very sick kitten home with her so she could care for it throughout the night. Not only did she offer medical care, but she took the time to gently hold and stroke the animal so that it would know that it was loved and cared for. Dr. Hansen truly loves animals and cares for them above and beyond the call of duty. Dr. Hansen offers services often below market value because she wants you to be able to afford to care for your animal(s) and never have to put one down because the cost of care was exorbitant. You may pay a little more for medicines because she doesn't have the volume to order in bulk. I think that's fair. Dr. Hansen takes a lot of time in exams and on the phone with clients to talk about their concerns and what is going on with their pet (and even though they don't teach it in vet school, she's also spot on with behavioral issues and advice). She offers this to everyone, but obviously has to prioritize, so if your pet's situation is not urgent, you may have to wait a while for a call-back. But, rest assured, when it's your turn with an urgent pet situation, you are at the top of her list. Highly recommed Spring Grove Animal Hospital.

Dr. Hansen is absolutely amazing and has cared for our two dogs for the past few years. Both dogs are older and have faced some health issues during that time. Dr. Hansen is very methodical and really thinks things out before making a plan, which we have appreciated very much. At our old vet, often times, they’d throw half a dozen things at our dogs and hoped something worked. Dr. Hansen will try something, request a progress update, and then re-evaluate and treat from there. She takes time with you and your pet, we have never ever felt like we were rushed or that she doesn’t listen to all of our concerns. Our oldest dog was just in for a four night hospital stay with her- we got daily (if not twice daily) progress updates, and Dr. Hansen worked so hard to stabilize our pup, which she successfully did. We cannot thank her enough for her kindness, her thoughtfulness, and her knowledge. She went waaaaaayyyyyy above and beyond for our pup and there is no way to truly show her how appreciative we are!!!! We would highly recommend (and have already done so) Dr. Hansen to our friends and family.

I have been a client at Spring Grove Animal Hospital since 2007 and to date, have been thoroughly impressed with how the business is run as well as the care of my beloved pets. Medical decisions are made in collaboration with me and treatment options are explained and discussed in detail. She goes above and beyond any other veterinarian I have dealt with in the past.
