This clinic made an extremely dangerous mistake. They put the wrong label and dosage instructions on my pet's medication; they labeled the medicine with dosage instructions for a totally different drug. I gave my pet this medicine, following the clinic's incorrect instructions, 12 times! The only reason I figured out their mistake was: I went in for a refill and they gave me the same drug with totally different instructions; I went home and looked at the first package they gave me and realized their error. Needless to say, with certain drugs and dosages, this could be really bad, even deadly, for a pet. In addition to this, my veterinarian has been almost completely inaccessible. She seems super smart, but I can't manage to connect with her no matter how I try. I have spent about $1,000 at this place in the 2.5 months I've lived in the neighborhood, which isn't exactly pocket change for me. My cat has been in to the clinic at least 3 different times. The least they could do is give me the courtesy of being able to talk with my vet. I was able to have 1 real conversation with her, over the phone, after emailing some questions. After some costly testing and waiting to hear from them, I had to reach out to them to find out about the results. I've since made two attempts to get in touch with the vet with questions about my cat's chronic pancreatitis and about her meds, and was told both times that she would call me. She never did. I've had pets for 20+ years and never had this experience at any vet clinic, ever. This place takes plenty of $$ from their customers but doesn't seem to have the time to 1. Be careful about not mislabeling prescriptions (!) and 2. Actually follow up and answer questions for the clients who are keeping them in business, and who really care about their beloved pets. I've seen them botch things for other customers as well, while standing in the waiting area, and watched one very rude receptionist charge a poor woman the full cost of her appointment, *without* letting her pet see the vet, because she was five minutes late, though she had clearly raced to get there on time. Something is not right with this place.

Unfortunately today I had the worst experience with the front desk girl named Miriam. I arrived a few minutes late because I was stuck behind a garbage truck and I tried calling the office 3 times to inform them. Every time I called Miriam placed me on hold and then eventually because it took too long the call would end. I drove 2 hours to get to this location and she didn’t care or tried to make something work. She simply said we have a 10 minutes policy and you have to reschedule. I’ve never seen such poor customer service skills in my life. First of this policy was never ever mentioned to me. Second, every time I’ve been there my dog is never seen at his scheduled time because they are always running behind. I finally called backed and told her to transfer all of my dogs medical records. Place is also overly expensive and isn’t worth the time and effort. I wouldn’t recommend this place nor an encounter with Miriam.

These people are the worst. Far better vets in the park slope area. All they care about is $$ and taking it from you.

We need a vet in the area and have been repeatedly disappointed here and continually charged a lot for mediocre results. Our first visit was ok for a minor issue with my dog - which costed a couple hundred dollars- but it was downhill from there. When I brought her to get her shots shortly after, I told them my dog also had something wrong/patch under her ear and the vet Dr. Wilson said she saw nothing (even though we got charged for an exam check). We ended up having to go back a week later because the patch became a big hot spot and the other vet Dr. Szacki did minimal background research and kept calling my dog a he and anyways she ended up giving us hot spot medicine and a bill for $300, which could have been avoided if they examined her well the first time. I also heard the front desk staff gossiping about a client, calling him cheap etc, when I was in the room next to them with my dog. They’re very unprofessional and unhelpful and when I had to come back for a follow up vaccine shot, they said a vet could not examine my dog for a possible UTI issue and I’d need another appointment for that, which wouldn’t be available for about a week. This place up sells a lot, displayed little concern for my dog or me, and the vets seem rushed and did not look at her background records. I give this place two stars instead of one because two technicians were nice and they do keep detailed written records and respond to emails quickly. We are switching to another vet and in one visit, the new vet displayed so much more care for my dog and took the necessary time to look at her past medical records and thoroughly address the problem. What a difference.

I've been taking my dogs here since I adopted them. Prices are fair, especially for Park Slope and Dr. Maddon is always knowledgeable and friendly and my dogs love him. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Just crooks. I went there, because my dog had a little wart. Doctor said, that it will be gone in couple weeks by itself. But if not, then we need to come back, well they charge my 70$ only for consultation and didn't help at all. Of course wart didn't pass, so I used the regular drops for warts which coast me 10$.

I love this vet. Very compassionate. Does not overcharge or do endless expensive tests. Highly recommend.

I never went here before but I adopted a kitten from a rescue that had her spayed there, and they did a terrible job!!!!!!!! They even did it to my kittens other sibling. They used incision glue to hold her wound together, which didn’t work and it never will work on a 2 month old kitten. The wound was infected with discharge. I took my kitten to my own vet and they did an amazing job. I’m glad I didn’t take her back to Park Slope to fix what they created because my kitten received the amazing treatment that park slope wouldn’t have been able to provide! Do not go here. They can’t do something as simple as spaying a kitten properly, they shouldn’t be doing anything else. I’ll show before pictures of what Park Slope did and after pictures of what my vet did to help her.

It was a awesome experience. Dr. Maddon is really good with my dog. He gives the dog top flight medical treatment, and the facility treats your dog with patience, and care. Great place to take your pets.

I called PSVC in a panic when I thought my new to NYC senior dog had a UTI. They didn't know me at all, but they scheduled me next day. They were so thorough and caring that they ended up finding out my dog didn't have a UTI, but Cushings disease. I am now working on the management and treatment of that with them- they are so thorough, responsive, affordable and easy to work with. Both Dr's are fantastic, and Allison is exceptional. I am the world's most nervous and overbearing dog mom, and they make me feel at ease. I couldn't recommend them more, and my dog is lucky to be under their care.

We lost our cat last year to cancer. The staff was so amazing and compassionate. They gave us every option possible and all the time we needed. Couldn’t ask for a more reputable and wonderful place to bring our pets. We will continue bringing our pets here for as long as we live in the city and they’ll let us!

Was extremely upset that the Dr never followed through and called me with results after they told me to expect a call, I had to call knowing the results were in and that the receptionist told me the drs were busy so I insisted she tell me the results, it gave me no opportunity to ask follow up questions!

The vet failed to detect my cats oral cancer (even though it was a large inoperable tumor on her jaw). A month after being diagnosed with a gum infection we had to put her down. When I took her in and they told me it might be cancer they didn't even give her the first round of pain medication she was prescribed. I had to send her back in and ask for them to do it even though she was in extreme pain. They they recommended that she go on a wait list for an oral cancer center when she was obviously in such bad shape she needed to be seen immediately. I took her in to VERG the next day and it was determined to be so large that it was inoperable. Park Slope Veterinary Care never even followed up with to determined what happened with her. They do not care and do not accurately diagnose.

The doctor and staff here are wonderful every time I come. They’re very attentive, caring and gentle with my dog. I’ve never had a problem for as long as I’ve been coming here. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dog and wouldn’t go anywhere else.

We love this place. Milo (12y/o) and I have been going to see Dr. Maddon for years. He has a way with dogs and as such Milo is quite comfortable with him. He answers all my questions and does not rush. The staff is also very nice.

Very honest and forthright doctor. I went there for a second opinion and received an excellent one. I don't live in Brooklyn, but if I did, I would choose no other vet.

Mya has been seeing Dr. Madden for 9 years. Last Saturday was our last visit since we're moving out of state. We will miss everyone there very much. I highly recommend them.

We recently had to put our beloved 16 year-old Shiba Inu to sleep. The vet staff were kind and patient. They took the time to explain to us what would happen and made sure we had plenty of time to say goodbye. I am so grateful for their compassion and professionalism. We will continue to use Park Slope Veterinarian Care when we’re ready to get a new puppy.

I managed to get a same day appointment for my senior dog and the doctor quickly determined he had an eye ulcer as expected and sent me home with medication that had him feeling better right away. The doctor was very through and the price wasn't crazy high either. Thank you PSVC!

Two problems: the prices are extraordinarily high, both for services and for medicines, and the staff at the front desk are rude, unhelpful, and - no other way to say it - just incompetent. Needless to say, we won't be going back and I would recommend that even if this place is convenient to you, go elsewhere. I really am sad to say that the entire experience was so bad, they are not interested in providing the best care for your pet, but creating issues to increase billing. Rather than go through this again, I've switched to a new vet. It just isn't worth ruining your pets health with unnecessary interventions, just to increase the earnings of a vet. I felt scammed and robbed at the same time from this place. If you love your pet don't leave it with this vet.

Dr. Madden and friends have cared for my Newfoundland and cats for 10+ years. I have found everyone to be very straightforward, caring and reasonable in terms of possible care options and outcomes for my animals.

My first experience at PSVC was a good one. I brought my dog in because she had diarrhea and also what I suspected was a ear infection. Dr. Shim and the veterinary staff were attentive and had a pleasant bedside manner. I'm a new pet owner, and don't have a lot of experience dealing with veterinary professionals, but I would recommend PSVC based on how the staff treated me and my dog.

It's not only that Dr. Maddon took the time to reflect on and ultimately identify a medication and approach that would vastly improve our cat's quality of life (and ours as a result!), but also the staff is genuinely helpful and engaged in a way that some human doctor's offices are sadly missing.

Dr. Madden is an absolute angle man. The entire staff here has been amazing. We have been more times than I wish were needed since getting our pup a few months ago, and I doubt I'll go anywhere else in the future unless I leave the neighborhood. Dr. Madden and his staff have been nothing but lovely. Everytime we walk by the building, my pup walks up to the door, tail wagging, wanting to go in. For a vet to have such a positive reaction from a dog seems like a pretty huge statement to me. If my dogs happy to go get shots and stiches and other procedures done, I'm a happy dad and you've got a loyal customer.
