I'm a first time client. The vet is not too close to my place so I don't want to go there and be told to go back and wait for the next available appointment. I called several times throughout the week. Not sure the reason but the phone never went through and always went to a voice mailbox. I don't even know whether they're still open.

Overall bad experience here. Also encountered very unpleasant and rude staff there named Anna. Won’t be going to the vet after thinking of switching over.

Very smooth visit, and Dr. Gaylord is very friendly and knowledgeable. You can't go back with your animal for the exam (maybe a covid precaution), but they keep you updated and get them out expediently.

Way too expensive. Two of the shots he got were way higher than my previous vet. Nail clipping is 27.60. The vet was very pleasant.

known the place for long time :) last week my daughter puppy wasnt feeling well. and they give me same day appointment right away, especially during the pandemic time most of the vet place only offer next day appointment, and the way they take care of the pets is super friendly :) my family and i we do enjoy the service that they provide. only thing is that when you see the bill, let just says one time visit can cost you 1K and up, so check your wallet before you go there. ) Hope this review helps????

Dr Lazarus, Dr Gaylord, and their staff are fantastic. Empathic, personable, and professional.

I took my 12.5 year old chihuahua to see Dr. Lazarus. First, she was honest, offered solutions, and she wasn’t pushy. Dr. Lazarus genuinely cares about what she does and it showed. My little dog is safely recovering at home from her surgery today and I feel confident that she was in great hands. We live in uptown Manhattan and will gladly commute to and from Brooklyn to receive the quality care that Dolce received from Dr. Lazarus and the staff. If you’re looking for a new vet or a second opinion- I highly recommend bringing your fur baby in.

They've taken care of my boy a few times now and have always been friendly and great with him. I've taken him to get on fluoxetine to help with his transition into the city and it's been a game changer. Dr. Gaylord has been great with discussing any changes I might need to make with his dosages. My boyfriend has also taken him for me (different doctor), one time for my dog having an IBD flare-up (first time in YEARS). I made the mistake of trying beef liver with him and his system can't tolerate any beef unless in tiny traces in a treat or something. They got him back on track in no time. I just wish she would stop bringing up how she disagrees with him being on a raw diet (Dr. Harvey's Canine Health). I get their concerns, but my dog has been on a raw diet for most of his life (he's 7 now) because he literally cannot handle eat any type of kibble without having gastrointestinal issues. His coat is shiny, clean teeth, great muscle. He's gotten sick from it only when I've given him beef, so we just avoid it. Other than the bit of judgement about the raw thing a couple times, all our visits have been great!

While living in Brooklyn, my wife and I used North Slope Veterinary for our dog, Zoey. When we received Zoey, she was very sick. We were fortunate to come across this practice after reading several great reviews. Dr. Gaylord and Dr. Bliss saved our dog's life. Dr. Gaylord and Dr. Bliss are both wonderful veterinarians and human beings. They were always forthright with any treatment plan that they suggested to us. They were also extremely responsive when we had follow up questions. They would even check in on Zoey later in the week to see how she was doing. Our dog loved going into their office. I highly recommend them.

Dr Gaylord is nice and practical. The receptionists are friendly and welcoming. All the vet techs are nice but the female vet tech (Sorry I don't remember your name) is quite possibly the best person I've every encountered when dealing with my dogs. She knows so much and is willing to explain things. Loved my pups and they loved her which was great since it was about our 3rd time there in a few weeks (tummy issues, vaccinations, and I'm generally overboard with the dogs). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet they can count on that doesn't overcharge.

The doctor and vet tech were friendly to me and very sweet with my cat. The vet performed the check up quickly but thoroughly and was sure to answer my questions and concerns. My cat was in a good mood when we got back home, just more curious. I was glad that he did not get nervous or scared at the vet, they took good care of him while we were there.

Excellent service here. They may not be as warm on the phone, but I wouldn't trust my furry menagerie with anyone else!

I have taken my baby girl Toggie to many vetenaries in the Clinton Hill - Prospect Height- Park Slope areas and North Slope Vet was the one. They took great care of her. Dr.Shuttleworth was so sweet and she knew exactly what would be best for a senior pug of 14 year old. Thank you! I know you were Toggie’s favorite. When we are ready to welcome another furry blessing into our lives, North Slope vet would be the place we’ll be visiting ❤️????????

Been taking my pups to Northslope for 4 years. Most recently brought one of my dogs in for a fractured molar. Got great, non-pressure advice re options including extraction. Ultimately had the tooth extracted at Northslope, and everyone was kind, caring and helpful. Dog is in great shape after a few short days. Can’t go wrong with any of the doctors that work there, and the rest of the staff is great too.

I love this place! We started going here when we brought home our 10 week old Havanese puppy. The front office and all the staff are so sweet, so positive and loving with the puppy. As a first time dog owner, it has been amazing to feel so well taken care of by everyone at this practice. Dr Gaylord is very accessible. He gets on the phone right away, takes my concerns seriously, and kindly and patiently answers all questions I've had regarding my puppy's health, traveling with the puppy etc. Dr. Bliss is great too. I highly recommend North Slope Veterinary!
