Very caring with pets. Their front desk staff is also extremely kind and patient anytime I call.

One of the best vet experiences I've had in NYC for my cat. I was seen promptly and everyone from the front desk to the exam room was very kind. The vet and vet tech were both kind and listened to what I had to say. I am a volunteer cat rescuer and I've been to a handful of vets all across NYC, they really did a great, thorough job. I would definitely recommend taking your pet here.

I took my LaPerm cat in because he had a nasty cough which I thought was a hairball. I was helped by Roxy and Dr. Pizzicarola, who were both wonderful. I appreciate him explaining and following up after the visit. My tuxedo is feeling better. Therefore, I will be returning for future visits.

The vets and techs at Franklin Ave are so great with my puppy, and very helpful when I have questions. Highly recommend them for your new puppy.

They can’t get you in until more than a week later but you can “schedule a walk in” for $135 day of. And by walk in I mean they give you a time. That’s a appointment guys. Dirty business practice, money first, care second.

This chain of hospitals is more concerned with money then they are the well being of your pet. Their front desk team is ran by what seems like high school students. I called to see if there were cancellations that day and they weren’t. I explained that I was a little worried because my dog had eaten some pecans and had thrown up a couple of days ago. I just wanted to know if I should be alarmed and maybe rush him to an ER. They didn’t even ask follow up questions and express concern before they tried to push me off to a hotline system, where you have to pay before they even let you know if your pet needs to be rushed to the ER. What kind of sick money train is that? Mind you this is the hospital he’s gone to since I got him as a baby! Pet parents know we will spend whatever on our babies. I don’t mind! But it’s clear that they don’t truly care about the pets and / or lack the knowledge to give basic advice and reassurance. I called another nearby vet and the young lady asked me some questions, reassured me it didn’t sound dire but still encouraged me to check the hotline if he should show more signs of rejecting the pecans. I immediately made an appointment and transferred vets. If you just want a cute place with young staff who are excited to play with your pet but can’t help you in a tight spot when that pets health is at risk, then this is the clinic for you you. Not me and my baby ✌????

Incredibly rude staff. I had trouble parking and showed up late - they told me I was then a walk in and would wait an hour and a half or leave. I asked to be seen because of my dogs condition - she’s 15, with kidney disease and had been having mobility issues, that we are at end of life care, and the doctor tossed this back in my face like I was a child who’d been late to class. For someone that’s spent maybe 20k over 10 years on my pet at this hospital chain (almost always the prospect heights location), never have I been treated by ruder staff or doctor. I would not recommend going here. The prospect heights animal hospital site has never been like this. To add - they then admitted their computer system was down so they could not get the information on my pet! Waste of time.

I absolutely love Franklin Ave Animal Hospital and highly recommend it. I especially recommend Dr. Karthika Parvathy- she is wonderful! She was sweet and attentive with my older cat, noticing things that previous vets didn't. Importantly for me, she is also realistic about prices/affordability and helps you find the best treatment plan that you can also afford. Significantly, she is very responsive to answering calls; if I call and leave a message, I can absolutely depend that she will call me back and talk through any questions I have, doing her own research to get back to me if necessary. The whole clinic is wonderful too: kind and professional staff, clean and nice office, quick response rate, easy to schedule, and safe Covid precautions. Highly recommend!

I brought in my Boston Terrier for a checkup and unfortunately Dr. Mandala discovered a Mast Cell Tumor on my girl. She was very empathetic and gave me several options with how I wanted to move forward. She never pushed me to have the surgery or spend anything I didn't want to however I decided to have the surgery there. What I love about here is that there are no hidden costs. They printed out a cost estimate of the surgery the same day and after the surgery I did not pay a penny more. Honesty is truly important when it comes to businesses and they upheld their price quote which I greatly appreciated. Vets are always expensive so it's great to know exactly what you are paying for. On top of this, the staff and Dr. Mandala were super nice. I felt like they really cared about Bailey. After the surgery I received daily phone calls to ask me how Bailey was doing after surgery. Sometimes I could not pick up so they text and even emailed. They were really on top of it and I've never experienced this service before so I hope they keep up the amazing work. I will continue to come here for any vet visits because they are kind, trustworthy, and affordable. Thank you for taking care good care of Bailey

We always bring our beloved animals to Prospect Heights, Crown Heights and Franklin Avenue Animal Hospital. Everyone in the hospital is kind, gentle, loves our animal family as much as we do. Regardless of whether we are there for routine annual check-ups or emergency help, we get treated promptly, and I can trust that my animal is and will be safe and that the staff will help as much as they are able. We love them.

The staff here are fenominal!! My cat Impy was 19 years old. We had to make the choice of euthanasia because he was too weak. They had a separate room for us and let me stay as long as I needed to before and after the procedure. Everything was explained to me what would happen. Even after he was gone they allowed me to spend as much time with him. They have so much empathy for anyone's loss. I truly thank God for all of their support. Going forward if I get another cat I will be bringing it here.

This vet clinic went above and beyond to make sure that my reactive dog was as comfortable as he could be. My dog is reactive to dogs, cats, and people. The staff made sure that the lobby was clear before we came in, immediately put us in a room, fed my dog treats at my request to befriend him, respected my dog's boundaries when he started growling, the vet, Dr. Katz, talked to me about all of my concerns without rushing me, and even checked in with me a couple of times to make sure that we had talked about all of my concerns, they checked me out inside the appointment room instead of making me wait in the lobby, and made sure the lobby was clear again before we walked out. It was the best experience I could hope for with my dog, and I appreciate everything that the staff at Franklin Ave Animal Hospital did for us.

The vets themselves are great the front of house not so much. Multiple times have I had to call back to check if a prescription is ready after they continue to tell me they will call me once it’s filled, being double billed because the receptionist aren’t organized and ultimately being forgotten about during a visit because they wouldn’t let me inside with my cat due to covid then forget to call when my cat was ready to be taken home. I literally sat in the sun waiting for their call because when I spoke to the vet I was told “we’re going to finish up with her and then we’ll give you a call when she’s ready to be picked up” i waited an hour nothing then decided to call to see what was the hold up only to find out she’s been sitting there the entire time

I’ve been coming to this clinic for about 2 years. Today, I called in a panic because I noticed that my dog’s front teeth are loose and his gums red. I called the clinic and was told that even though they only had appointments in mid-November (it’s September 13th today), the vet would call me later today to answer my questions and help me come up with next steps. Instead, I got a voicemail (the phone rang once - I didn’t have time to answer!) from someone other than the doctor to let me know that the last time my dog’s teeth were checked no issues were noticed, but that they would re-examine if I paid a fee. That was surprising to me because his teeth have been in very poor condition for some time now. In fact, a vet at this very clinic pointed it out to me a while back and strongly recommended a cleaning. Back then, I could not afford the cleaning. Every time I’ve visited the vet since then, I have made it a point to ask about his teeth, even though most times I don’t have to. The last time I visited this clinic - last month - I asked about his teeth and was told not to worry. That didn’t sound right because by now, my dog’s teeth are literally grey and his breath chronically bad, so I told the doctor that I was planning on scheduling a cleaning later on this year anyway because I was very concerned about his decaying teeth. Today, when I noticed the loose teeth, I got on Google and saw again and again that someone in this situation should talk to their vet immediately. Instead, this clinic prevented me from getting on a quick call with the vet and was only able to offer an appointment more than two months from today. I’m left feeling that after realizing that I sometimes struggled to pay for this clinic’s overpriced care, the vets began downplaying the my dog’s dental issue. At no point did anyone here help me find an affordable alternative or offered to accommodate my economic situation through a payment plan.

I’ve had a great experience taking my dog Wilma to the vet here. It’s very easy to schedule an appointment, the prices are reasonable (compared to vets in my neighborhood). The doctors are very responsive and helpful, giving me advice on things to do to improve my dog’s allergies, as well as which vaccines she really needs and which ones she can skip. I feel like they try to keep your costs down by explaining things in a way where it’s optional or actually something you should do. Just makes me feel like I’m getting the appropriate care for my pet and able to understand my options. They also always call you back when you have a random question. I feel like my pet is really cared for here and I would recommend this place to anyone !

Came here to get a routine checkup and shots for my two chihuahuas. They were able to see them both at the same time which I loved! The vet was super friendly and explained everything as we went along. My babes were super nervous and trying to run away but the vet was able to handle them and calm them down enough to give them their shots. The cost was much more affordable than other vets in the area and I feel like the service is better. Definitely coming back here!

Wonderful staff, especially their physical therapist Linda. I can't even begin to describe how much she helped us when we had to say goodbye to our beautiful dog... It's never easy to say sad news to dog parents, but she found a way to make us see that there's no cure for old age, and I'm eternally grateful for that. This review might seem odd to some, but when you find yourself in such a difficult place you need help to know what's the right decision, and it takes a huge amount of courage, honesty, and love for animals to guide you on how to know when it's time to let go. They clearly do not see your pet as "just business", they DO care. We are also very grateful for the many years they took care of of pup, and for the card they sent us when he crossed the rainbow bridge. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your professionalism, honesty and compassion.
