Pleasant experience from booking an appointment to leaving. They were able to obtain my cat’s primary vet records without me having to do …

Do not believe the bad reviews!! I have been to this location for 3 emergencies and I have always received excellent care. Especially this last visit. My cat came down with cluster seizures and I had her in and out of a different ER over the weekend but came to Blue Pearl Monday morning in hopes I could see their neurologist through the ER, after taking my pet in they informed me unfortunately their neurologist would not be able to see my cat. They still did the exam but free of charge and Dr. Wohlstadter even wentnoutnifbhis way to come from the Er to meet with me to discuss how to get her the care she needed. AND he followed up both with my veterinary clinic as well as me personally multiple times the same day! (All for a patient they did not charge) On top of all this the staff at the front desk, Lisa and Luisa went out of their way reaching out to other clinics in search of a neurologist who could see my cat ASAP. Happy to report they were able to secure me an appointment within a week. Again, this clinic is excellent and the staff truly is exceptionally caring and professional.

I would give zero stars if I could. The clinic seems disorganized, and it seems that the staff members don’t communicate with each other so that information falls through the cracks. I brought my sick kitty here for treatment and she was ultimately euthanized. I received a call two days later from someone in the financial office, who told me that they were able to negotiate my bill lower, and that I would be getting a partial refund. I was also told by the veterinarian Dr. Sokol, on the night she passed, that her body care fees would be waived because I had already paid many thousands of dollars for her failed treatment. The financial office still charged me and refused to investigate the issue any further, saying that they “don’t recall those conversations” ever happening and that the charges are still due, since it’s essentially my word against theirs. The financial department here will squeeze you for money after your pet has died, and conveniently “forget” information that doesn’t serve them. Take your fur babies elsewhere.

Front desk was the worst we have ever seen in all the vet. Didn't have to be great but at least don't be rude - at least have some decency to answer some questions and basic understanding that if owners are already distressed from their loved pet being sick, the last thing they need is a terrible front desk.

I took my sick cat to this hospital after an accidental Rogaine (Minoxidil) poisoning (would not know if the doctor didn’t have a similar case in August). My cat was taken in as soon as we came and we were placed in a room waiting for the doctor. The doctor came in and explained that my cat was put on oxygen right away and took the health history of my cat. Then I was given the estimate for overnight stay and paid the average which later was reimbursed a bit since my cat unfortunately died. While waiting for the doctor we were offered water and other beverages, we were able to see our cat before leaving. I took my other cat there the same night who was exposed to Rogaine as well but made it through in two days. My cat was placed in an oxygen cage on continuous IV Lasix, had a warm bed, a litter box and was offered about six varieties of food and yummy snacks. Special thanks to Dr. Schreffler and Dr. Joyce for taking their time to explain my pets’ health condition and to answer all questions as well as answering phone calls or giving a callback. Special thanks to tech Kitty for taking exceptional care of my kittens. Thanks to Sara on the front desk for asking if we needed water and for communicating our issues and concerns to doctors right away.

BluePearl still has not contacted me as of 12/2021. My cat went their for emergency surgery in the summer of 2020, and was returned to us with the blood not even cleaned up. They also had Google hide my review because it made them look bad.

I had to take in our cat on a busy Saturday for a skin injury. They took care of her entirely during the initial assessment, as it wasn't a bad cut. Total time there was just over an hour. I found them super-nice and professional, and the total for the emergency visit was less than the usual fee for a checkup at my regular vet. Would recommend.

It's worthy to note that these poor reviews fail to acknowledge the fact that this emergency hospital is operating at 50% capacity under unprecedented conditions. Even with a longer wait time, I would return to BluePearl. My dog was treated with the upmost care and diligence. In fact, I received the most thorough write-up debriefing our visit that I ever have in my dog's 12 year life. The staff is kind, patient, and hard working. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I came first thing this morning with my dog who couldn’t stop having (bloody) diarrhea and while, yes, it’s incredibly, incredibly expensive, I was impressed with the standard of care. Not only was the vet extremely kind and patient, but he was so thorough, discovering a lump on my dog I had never felt before and having it biopsied on the spot. It took a long time, but the sheer amount of time the vet spent with me getting my dog’s entire medical history and answering every question more than made up for it. again, i know it costs a literal arm and a leg, but this is kind of to be expected with an emergency animal hospital, and really any quality pet care in the united states, new york especially.

If I could rate it lower, I would. My dog has been here once- it was during quarantine so I could understand the outside waiting room. However it was 3 am, snowing. And there's more than enough room to social distance.. Can't let a girl come stay inside with her dog in single digit weather? Now. I come again and am turned away while my dog is bleeding after getting attacked. Terrible service. Call before you go.

My 13 yr old yellow lab and I were shown in at exactly the time of my appointment. The facilities were spotlessly clean. The staff and Dr. Grossbard were very friendly, professional and compassionate and I was very happy with the whole experience.

Today, I brought my cat in for urgent medical reasons, and I have left less than pleased, as the staff have been heartless and apathetic to both me and my cat. Dismissive of her symptoms and claiming they are not on an “emergency level,” even though she is in serious condition and is unable to eat or hardly walk. The nurse hit her carrier with the door while transporting her into the hospital. Overall, very rude staff with zero regard for their patron’s requests. Everything is done in private, too — you are not given any information on what they will be doing with your animal and for how long. After waiting for 3 hours with no updates, I decided to release my cat from their abhorrent, reckless care. I can only imagine what damage could have been done to my cat if I had left her in their hands for any longer. Read the reviews and avoid this hospital.

We came to this hospital after our puppy was vomiting and had diarrhea from likely ingesting fabric from a toy. Staff was very kind, compassionate and loving with our pup. We were seen around 11 pm at night, which is not the easiest hour, but they were calm and patient with us. The doctor and staff answered all of our questions, and reviewed all of our options with us, including financial options. It was incredibly helpful to wake up this morning with the doctor's notes and recommendations sent to my email. Hopefully we will never need to go to the emergency vet again, but if we have to, we will certainly come back here. Thank you all for your help!

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET! Especially if it’s an emergency, my dog was having cluster seizures which can be fatal and I had to wait along with a man who’s dog was physically bleeding out. The staff is very rude, they overcharge, and the process is ridiculous. They also cleaned my dogs eyes as a “curtesy” and she comes back with one of her eyes swollen shut. Not worth it. Go somewhere that is actually going to care for your animal.

Took my cat who was having breathing problems. They were extremely helpful. Although, we could not go inside, the Doctor called and explained everything that was going on and the treatment plan. Thank you!

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. You should be shut down as a hospital. I can't believe you can even call yourselves a hospital. I brought in my dog because she couldn't breathe well, and they gave me a bill upfront for the oxygen she was getting. They care more about getting their money than caring for my pet. Shortly after they refused to run the appropriate tests for her condition because I couldn't afford a bill of $8,000, they just let my dog die. You refused to care for the dog and you refused to listen to my concerns. If you love your pet and you want them to LIVE, do NOT, I repeat do NOT bring them here to die. This is the worst place I have ever gone to, with the worst treatment, the most rude and inattentive staff, who is strictly focused on money. You should all be shut down for your abhorrent service and I pray to God whoever puts their pets under your care gets them back in one piece and alive, because my pet wasn't this lucky. I will live with the pain of losing my beautiful dog for the rest of my life because you refused treatment for a medical EMERGENCY. Shame on you.

Beyond incompetent and rude staff. Emergency vet and their "emergency" response time was ridiculous, nurses attention transfixed on the television screen. If it's an emergency, they won't treat it as such. As I was leaving, a deaf couple was having trouble getting their attention because this "emergency" vet only uses intercom. Receptionist busts out the door all in the couples space screaming at them they can't come inside, I explain to her that they are deaf and she decided to condescending yell in their face as if volume was the problem.

Don’t take your pet here. They only care about overcharging you and not about the well being of your pet.

This was the most horrible experience I have had at vet. They kept my dog for 4 hours and did nothing. Kept telling another hour and I just decided to bring him home. On top of it all they super rude and unprofessional. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Horrible place, wouldn’t recommend!! Late at night, I was playing with my dog and noticed a spot that looked like a bruise. I decided to take him here so they can see what was wrong and all I can say is that it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. The receptionist at the front desk is beyond rude. (He called us ridiculous because we were worried about our dog) Then, they told us they were going to take our dog for an examination but he couldn’t be supervised by one of us due to COVID guidelines. This was understandable, so we asked them if they can stay on the phone with us while they examine him so we can be able to speak to the doctor and hear what’s going on. (My dog has separation anxiety and gets very anxious with strangers). Upon request, the receptionist said that wasn’t possible and that we would only be able to speak to the doctor after the examination. Personally, I find this completely pointless because how was the doctor going to examine my concerns after the examination?? How was I even supposed to know if the doctor was actually examining my dog? TOTAL SCAM!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Let me explain to you guys how this hospital work. First what you can see at front door when you come here by appointment is a few signs DO NOT TOCH HANDTRAIL BECAUSE COVID-19. DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR BECAUSE COVID-19. RING THE BELL. After you knocked at the door receptionist open door for 5 inches and took your pet. 3 hours later you receiving a bill via SMS. You must pay this bill in the next few minutes. In a few hours later they call you and ask you to pick up your pet. You can speak with a doctor by the phone and you guys MUST HAVE another doctor next to you if you want to understand what BluePearl's doctor telling you. You need someone to translate you all medical terms! Next day you receiving medical report with : Unfortunately We could not determine what your pet is sick with! When you call doctor to ask him what r u paid your money for he's say You need to repeat this test again for same price! I'm really interesting if anybody was inside in this hospital?? Maybe they rent this building just for couple of smart guys who 's charge your credit card and answering on phone' calls?! Anyways if you really love your pets and don't want to waste your money do not go there!

I called BluePearl pet hospital at 4am in the morning today 7.25.21, about my dog who was not feeling well. I spoke with a rude gentleman who told me to google the address when I asked, he then abruptly hung up the phone on me. With employees like him this organization ended up losing me as a customer and I hope future clients as well. He is very unprofessional and he doesn't need a job working with people or animals. This shows me he doesn't care about his job, so he doesn't care about the animals as well.

Absolutely lovely. Dr. Li's one of the best vet specialists we've seen. We were able see her, talk with her about likely scenarios and treatments. She was exceptionally professional, but also hugely empathetic - especially when she delivered the news of our fur baby's cancer. All of the reception, vet-tech, and sanitation staff were top notch professionals. All of the facilities were clean and free of odor. I wish I could visit when the circumstances weren't for dire, but they made us comfortable and helpful for a tough time. Couldn't recommend harder. WTH is up with this sub-3 star rating?

My silly dog fell in a pond and got a parasite the Dr saw her and took her in for 2 hrs. Turns out she had giardia, as a new dog owner I was freaked out but the staff made me feel so assured. I can’t thank them enough for their amazing pet and owner care and the cost is reasonable . 10/10

I had called earlier and spoke to an amazing person that listened to me, answered all of my questions, and gave me good advice…. Then I called again, just recently, and the rude guy kept interrupting me, didn’t seem to care, then said it wasn’t an emergency then hung up on me.. Before I could ask another question or explain my concerns…. I don’t know how I went from the first girl to him and receive that kind of treatment…. People need to care and listen to us when we call about our pets, our babies. Thank you for the first person that helped and wow, what a horrible experience with the second call….

My dog is coughing and I called and was told that I could come in. We took a car over and when we got there the receptionist not the doctor basically sent us away while my dog was coughing in her face. I told her I wanted him seen and she then told me since he wasn’t a priority it would be about two hours. My dog is still coughing and I have to take him somewhere else now which I shouldn’t have to since I was already there. Are receptionist the doctors now?

They still have COVID pole it’s in place and do not let you inside with your pet. They call you to tell you what is going on. The vet does not seem to be knowledgeable or at call caring. Didn’t discuss options and circumstances surrounding my pets condition, just said the dog needs surgery ASAP or she will die. They just want you to spend money and don’t care about your animal or their genuine needs.
